Well, yes, that was very thoughtful of OJ's friend, Riccio??, who, after setting up the "meeting," to carry a tape recorder, and turn it on at the appropriate time, and then sell the tape recording to TMZ, among others. He must have been a boy scout; "aka, always be prepared."

IMO, it doesn't matter. OJ is an adult and could have called the police to go to the room with him to see if his personal property was there. No one held a gun to his head and made him handle it the way that he did.

It's common for dealers of expensive items to record their meetings. Too many dealers are set up for robberies and some end up in murder. There are numerous cases of dealers missing and never found after they went to a "meeting".

Yup. The first guy to be charged (Alexander) was on Larry King last nite to say nothing more than that Riccio set up OJ.

ETA - Alexander was the first to be arrested and is the guy who all the THs on Sunday were saying - this is the guy who is singing to LE because he was released on his OR. Sounds like they (THs) might have been wrong about this.

Alexander was the first to say, he wasn't going down for OJ, and he was also singing about offshore accounts, and how they emptied OJ's house before the Sheriff arrived to impound everything. It's OK that he believes it was a setup, as it does appear that it was, but that doesn't change the facts that guns were used, and that OJ is in deep horse-puckey.

"You can't rob something that is yours," Galanter said. "O.J. said, 'You've got stolen property. Either you return it or I call the police.'"

Galanter acknowledged that the use of a gun would change the situation but he said Simpson was not armed.

"If at some point somebody else pulls out a firearm, it's still not a robbery for the person that wants his property back," Galanter said.

Loyola University Law Professor Laurie Levenson said the legal definitions would be disputed at a trial but she said the case seems to have been overblown.

"It seems like an awful lot of charges for what happened," she said.

A set up has been mentioned by various talking heads, but on one of the Fox News programs last night - I think Greta, it was said by several attorneys that set up or not, O.J. is in serious trouble.

If it's a common practice for dealers to record meetings, this may only be a side issue. Guns were used, people were threatened, people were held against their will - told they couldn't leave the room, and told to turn their cell phones over.

Fox News just had breaking news from Las Vegas. The District Attorney is considering adding two more charges against O.J. - kidnapping and coerscion, bringing the number of charges to 10! The reporter said something about charges being made this afternoon.
