The court will probably mistakenly think that O.J. is the smartest of the group, therefore, he must be the ringleader, so they will throw the OJ book at him. With fellow sewer rats testifying against O.J.; O.J. will probably say something profound like, "Hey, I thought you guys were my friends."

Riccio's big score--he had probably been working on this scheme for quite a while. Turning on a good trusted friend, like O.J., is liable to ruin his sterling reputation. Do you think??

This is beginning to look like a saga from the Keystone Kops. Some of the TH's feel that Galanter might be able to get the prosecutor to dismiss most of the charges. Riccio is the manipulator, a la orchestrator, of this entire mess. This is like a really bad "B" grade movie.

I agree Buzz. I think this is a bad movie and I also think that some of the charges will be dismissed. I think there is some method to the prosecutors madness in overcharging him....well at least I hope there is.

I think the prosecutor would be a fool to take this in front of a jury. Not much has to be said by the defense attorney to show this episode for what it really is. An orchestrated set-up. It will be difficult to make much, other than the gun charge, stick, and that is probably going to stick on the guy who flashed it. That, and an assault with a deadly weapon, and maybe a few scattered assault charges on the threats.

If all that came of this was for the offshore accounts to become the property of the Goldman's, OJ's stash to become the Goldman's, and for the IRS to get all over OJ's case, it would be OK with me.

I think it would be harder on OJ if he was left free, but didn't have any money to do anything with. I think that would be more punishing. No friends anymore. No adulation. Just the IRS watching his every move.

Las Vegas, Sept. 18 — A police incident report obtained late Tuesday paints O.J. Simpson as the brutal ringleader of a group of men with guns who busted into a Vegas hotel room on Thursday but who, in subsequent days, told police he is baffled by the notion that what took place was an armed robbery.

According to the report, Mr. Riccio informed Mr. Simpson that Mr. Beardsley and Mr. Fromong had items that belonged to Mr. Simpson in the room. Mr. Simpson, dressed in a gray V-neck shirt and jeans, entered the room with several men, including two brandishing guns from the onset, and directed the men as to what to take.
"I’m a cop and you’re lucky this ain’t L.A. or you’d be dead," said one of the men with a semi-automatic weapon as the group entered, frisking Mr. Beardsley and Mr. Fromong for weapons.
The report says Mr. Simpson berated Mr. Beardsley and Mr. Fromong for having taken his belongings. I for one am glad OJ was given bail and released. Now he can go home to Miami and lock himself in his house and we don't have to hear about him again until he appears in LV court October 22.
However, I am taking bets on how long it will take for OJ to address someone with a mike in his hands and begin his speel with "I was set up."
I give OJ a week to start his pity party.
