I read that he offered his services to the family. I have no idea about the first one.

Was the PI or someone with him taking pictures of everything that went on during the search?

Steven's Dad was taking pictures and there was a photographer there who I'm sure was with the reporter from the SLC Tribune.

Rolf Koecher was taking pics I posted some last night.

Yeah, this would have been someone documenting for another reason.

I didn't see any on the day of the search - but hopefully, they started surveillance right after announcing the search. There would have been two full days for the perp to make a move.

okay so as far as you could observe - the pi was not videotaping or taking pics of the event as it happened?

someone mentioned a travel trailer parked nearby - could it have had a hidden camera inside. but to not have an official video recording of this important event makes it seem like a "mickey mouse" operation. and from some of the posts ive read about it it seems like it was "half a**ed" and leads me to believe . . . .im still keeping my opinions till we learn more

No idea. I was looking for Steven not cameras and dogs.

It's sooooo funny that you mention that - because the subject of aliens actually DID come up!

Actually, the discussion didn't relate specificallly to Steven, but just to missing persons, in general, who seem to vanish into thin air.

hmmm did the pi have clearly marked boundaries on the area where searchers were to stay within

and he seemed adamant that the search was for SK's "remains"? as in he was dead and the search was for his body?

Not at all. He seems determined to find Steven.

I thought you were looking for remains? Does this mean there could be a chance he is alive? I suddenly became confused.

so the pi didnt put any kind of closure on the case.

did he mention what he hoped to find or in what condition SK would be found alive - coherent, malnourished, sick, unconcious, hurt, wounded, disoriented?

and did he just say "go forth and search this area within the marked boundaries and yell out anything you find suspicious"

and were you guys split into teams - if so how many per team - or did each of you guys go solo?

I was told by another searcher - someone I consider reliable - that we were looking for a Steven that someone else had put there. The PI didn't reveal anything about anything.

I honestly don't know if this was a true search for remains or not. IMO, it was lacking in terms of coordination, but I'm NOT an expert.

Obviously, there is no closure as Steven has not yet been found.

No, we were told very little.

When we started, there were five teams of ten people each. If there were 70 searches total, then 20 people came late.

I posted some pics last night of some of the searchers. Did you see them?

Is there any way we can further explore whether Steven was receiving unemployment?

I have often wondered if he had an income about which we don't know.

I've been wondering if SK was waiting for his tax return, and this was how he was planning to catch up on past due rent?

Like the long conversations we had about Utah's ubiquitous payday loan stores.

If Steven was even a day late paying a payday loan the company would have been calling him constantly. Some even call a day or two before to remind one that a payment is due. SK's family would have seen a payday loan's telephone number in his cell phone records, if this was the case. However, this is something his family hasn't mentioned to us.

Does anyone have pictures of the dogs that were at the search on Saturday? 3 of them right? Something is just bugging me about this.

There is a glipse, hind part, of one of the dogs in one of the search pictures. It's of the area where the back pack was found, and people are standing on the ledge, and another man is standing near the debris pile with a shovel. I believe RubyRed posted these pictures last night in one of her threads.
