So - are you saying they should be looking for Steven in Utah? What do YOU think?

Not really. If he hadn't made it to Vegas I would definitely like a focus on Utah. I just have always felt the need to know for sure it was Steven on that tape.

It was 1-3/4 hours after he last talked to SA, when the figure walks on the video.

I guess I'd have to see a video of someone I knew very well, in that video, and see if I could ID them. But you've got a short walk, and an average-sized guy in a blurry video.

REF:

It certainly appears that Steven was carrying something under his arm, like papers or a folder (black folder?):

It very well could be one of the scenario's we have come up with and we just haven't connected it.

JMO but I think it's the possible media connection in SCA.
Two people who don't live there but have connections.

Seems strange that the family wouldn't checked this lead out, being right in LV at time.

sniipped from Fairy1's post: "But she did say there may have been a possible sighting of Steven at a dental school somewhere in town. She got that from the LVMPD detective, who told her he was going to check it out. It's an interesting possibility."

How was she to get access to LE's tips? Does LE give out the info on tips? Wonder if the detective actually checked out the tip.

It was Steven's Mom who gave us this tip. :waitasec: I'm sure they're on top of it.

What media connection?

But we haven't had a confirmation on it...so I guess it was nothing.

Fairy, any news on the guy found at the motel?

...and that makes me think of something else: why not call for help if you have a cell phone with you?

Does anyone know the answer to this: If you are behind on your cell phone bill, can you receive calls but not make calls? How is your account limited?

The reason I ask, is because I just read a blog by one of Steven's relatives that mentioned his voicemail box was full. The last time he made a call, as far as we know, was the Dec 11th call for the latchkey kids and then the call to voicemail (which would be a free call).

He really wasn't making any calls.
The landlord called; he didn't call back.
Tommy called; he didn't call back.
He was selectively answering, but we don't see him calling out.

Anyone?

Interesting, laytonian. What a pattern you just nailed.

I looked a few cell phone terms of service and generally the answer was minutes count for both incoming and outgoing, and service suspended upon 30 days overdue, but look at this regarding Verizon:

Do incoming calls count against my verizon minutes?

Incoming calls do count against your minutes allowance. Exceptions are: in-network, evenings and weekends, and the new Friends and Family (10 numbers of your choice, but only with plans of 1400 minutes or more). Outgoing calls that aren`t answered count, too, for the time you let it ring (rounded up to the next minute).

It's an anonymous answer posted on one of those Q&A type boards. Selectively taking incoming calls during evenings and weekends may not have counted against his minutes, and possibly didn't have minutes to spare.

It sure puts a whole new possible light on not returning calls.

When you dont pay your sprint bill on time, how do they interupt your service?

I want to know the process in which sprint interupts. Do they really let you receive calls but you can't call out, do they let you receive messages but you can't text back. How long before they cut you off completely?

Answer -

Sprint interrupts your service when your balance reaches your spending limit. Lets say your account spending limit is 150$. When you get close to this limit, sprint will send you a text to inform you that your getting close.. this would probably be around 125$ balance. When your balance reaches that 150$,sprint will allow you to receive calls, but not make them, and when you get over your spending limit, around 175$, you would not be able to make nor receive calls.

If you have a NO spending limit, missing one or two bills should not effect your service, A sprint agent could at that time be able to check what the next step for you is and when it would take place.. ex: restricted service after you had missed your 3rd bill.

Laytonian,

Did you get the impression that it was full, like wouldn't take any more messages full, or full like there were alot of messages?

The family would know if he was running out of minutes...if he was, it seems like they might mention that. Maybe that is something that we should have asked Naegle all that time ago.

In your research, did it say if calling voicemail counts as minutes? If not, then there is no reason that he was not at least checking those right?

Ding, the car had about a 1/2 tank.

JMO, but the car is probably with family in N. Utah now.

Do we know what telephone service he had----for sure?

I have been looking up different phone plans and if you are deducted minutes when you call voicemail. I am finding that some don't charge if you use a landline to call VM. If you use your cell to call VM you get charged minutes. It is all going to depend on his cell plan and who he was with. I have already asked Laytonian to see if she can find out who his carrier was.

I don't know Fairy1. I think the answer is probably right in front of us on what happened. It is like that saying " I can't see the forest for the trees".

so now is maybe a good time to step back and for those who have been here a a while, without re analyzing every detail and disregarding your emotions as best you can - ask yourselves and let your first gut instinct tell you - is SK alive or deceased.

then we'll go on to step 2 . . .
