Let's look at this as a hypothetical. If Steven were a female that went missing.

- Le would look at who she knew
-who was in the area that was acquainted with her
-and did they change their routine in any way.
-who had one of the last contacts with her

GW fits all four of the criteria.

If GW got back to St George in time for the noon meeting (11am PST), he was in St George an hour before the figure was seen walking on the video. Easily verifiable by LE, if need be.

ETA: I've put GW's arrival in St George (per KCN's statement here on WS) on the timeline, in the appropriate place...sourced to "GW himself". It's a good reference and documentation of the statement.

If they didn't have that video, do you think Le would have questioned GW?

LE questioned everyone whose phone number was on Steven's recent phone records.

This Deseret News story documents that, because it was the police who called the phone number that turned out to belong to the mother of the children who were locked out.

We don't know *how much* questioning they did of anyone, but do we ever find out? :banghead:

Yes, that article said each call was easily identified. Like you say, how much were they questioned?

Hopefully, enough for a good jaw-drop....and I hope they went back to the first of the month.

Just a question? Is there somewhere on the timeline that gives Steven's address in
St. George and the names of his landlords? Or is that not acceptable information to
put on this thread?

  • #227
Found the address and picture of the house...! And the timeline clearly indicates where to find it.

So far I do not see the names of the landlord(s). Thank you.

Look under LINKS and click on "this home". It'll give you the complete address of the home as well as the satellite image of the area.
Keep zooming in, and you see the nearby dry riverbed ... and then you can put the little orange man on top of the "A", and you can see the home itself...as well as the surronding homes. (You might need to pan around a bit).
If we had a definite link showing the homeowners' names, I'd put the link in the timeline in the same manner, not blatantly but respective of their privacy.

Thank you. The little orange man and I have checked out everything. Did you note a cul de sac two houses down that looks much like the one where Steven parked? It is one that has the same kind of space.

I hadn't! AND....now that I see it, notice that if you walk down there, you're in the gulley/river (or whatever it is)....large enough that there's a bridge over it.

I don't know enough about the area to know how much of a river it is, but wow. I'll bet that area hasn't even been searched.

According to this he had a week-end planned with friends.

Was headed back to St. George, yet called Steven because he wasn't sure he was going to make it.

So he was on I-15 passing the raceway. What made that call so important that he would know exactly where he was when he talked to Steven.

I talk to people too but I am not sure I could tell you exactly where I am when I do it. Now if it is a life altering event, like when my Dad passed away, Yes I could tell you where I was. Just seems like a little bit too much info. Like he wanted to really verify exactly where he was at. I don't know it just rubs me the wrong way. Is anyone else thinking this is a little bit too exact?
Something else I have wondered about...GW says that Steven said he was in Las Vegas, too, but would go back for the church meeting if necessary...At that point GW says never mind, he can make it himself since Steven is also in Las Vegas. Why would Steven say he could go if necessary if he had some pre-arranged appointment in SCA? Why would he drive all the way to Las Vegas for an appt. and then be willing to cancel it on short notice? Wouldn't he have said, "sorry, I have an appt. down here this afternoon and can't make it". If Steven was willing to go back, why not have him go? If he is just driving around aimlessly in Las Vegas, why not? I guess I'm with the "I'm not sure that conversation makes sense" crowd!

Good points and I'm also part of that crowd. I feel certain if Steven were here, we would hear a much different version of that conversation. But that's JMO.

I completely agree. Two people know what was really said and one is missing. I hope GW has been truthful about it. But it seems like me that it would be off that they would both be in LV and not know the other is there.

You know, I was just looking at the SCA map on the timeline and I'm danged if I can figure out how one would get onto Evening Twilight myself! I'm the first to admit, I'm not very good at navigating these maps, or I would have discovered this before. But how DO you get onto that street?

  • #235
If I have my lefts and rights together, this is the way....
savannah springs, right on laurel heights, right on anthem, left on wild iris, left on apparition, left on hydrus and right on evening twilight.

Tough area to navigate isn't it.

OR....at the beginning of Wild Iris, there is a golf cart path that goes directly to Evening Twilight...if you are walking.

Maybe I'm being naive, yet can the family set up another search party themselves, and search the foothills of SCA, and the open areas around the St. George residence?:waitasec:

  • #237
I'm thinking outloud here: Maybe posting on trucker's networks or websites? Anything is possible at this point, and maybe SK is hitch hiking?

  • #238
I wonder if LE has spoken with the area's mail carrier? Mail Carriers notice things in their delivery neighborhood. Who knows if unusual activity had gone on in the past, or month that SK disappeared.

Not a strange question considering an FBI agent once asked my husband about folks living in a home on his route.

  • #239
How about flyers to the Brazilian Red Cross, and the US Embassy in Brazil? SK seemed to have enjoyed his mission in Brazil, and although his passport was found among his things at his home....folks do find ways to get fake passports.

Hey, add my name to the CROWD also. Why would GW call Steven, if he said he could make it back for the meeting? I still say, he would have told his counselors he was going to be out of town. I would like to know who he went to see in Las Vegas, and wonder if they have verified his story. Just seems strange to me, that I have not seen him be involved in trying to find Steven My goodness, he was his counselor in the EldersQ. Kind of like Josh Powell, not being involved helping find his wife-wonder why. Hmmm.
