The Derrick interview:

In case anyone else missed it.

After watching the interview, I think DA was the driver during the shooting.

We still haven't seen sufficient evidence to convict him of anything, but I think he was the driver.

I'm not sure. His body language didn't seem like he was lying to me, though reading body language isn't an exact science. He did a lot of looking to his left, which isn't a sign of lying, BBM:
Police often ask a suspect to describe someone in detail. If the suspect looks to their right (your left) they are generally constructing or "making up" the visual description. If they look to their left (your right) they are generally recalling the details from their visual memory.

So, in general, a glance to your left when observing a person indicates that they are creating or "lying" while a glance to your right signifies that they are remembering an actual event, or being "truthful."

http://www.businessballs.com/body-language.htm
One thing I also notice that he didn't do was excessive eye contact, which can be a sign of an experienced liar who is trying to portray false honesty to try and persuade. Now that we can see his body language in response to questions, I'd encourage people to watch and re-watch the video and draw their own conclusions on his body language and that you can get your own links as well as far as what eye direction may say about the truthfulness of what is being said. It would also help if we knew if he was right or left handed as then the signs could be reversed.

Also keep in mind that his standard gaze appears to be looking toward his right, but that's because Castelano is sitting at an angle rather than right in front of him due to camera being there to film the interview. In the video you an see how far over to Andrews right that Castelano is sitting.

I think it was SpanishInquisition who posted a while back about the possibility that the defense could exclude "lesser included charges." Spanish, do you still have that link? The gist of it was that there have been cases where the defense stance was basically, Either convict him on exactly what he's charged with, or acquit him. Nothing in between.

I think EN would have a very good chance of acquittal if the defense pulls off something like that. Either that, or the prosecution would have to reduce the charges out of the gate. I just can't see a conviction on M1. Not unless they've got some very compelling evidence that we're unaware of.

I've been trying to find that case again, but so far I haven't. It had to do specifically with a M1 case in Nevada.

I do hope they have DA on suicide watch. He sounds unstable to me.

I think he was placed in Protective Custody as a high profile inmate to keep him away from harm from the general population, so EN is probably in PC too. I do hope they are keeping him on suicide watch since I don't think they have a choice but to hold them outside the general population and in PC.

If Andrews went there the next day that would be a pretty straight shot from his house from Summerlin to the 95 and then getting off at Jones, which there are some elementary schools near there.

Well, if he is claiming he went to pick up EN the next morning, then he failed miserably in getting his story across.
He was very vague in his claims, my guess on purpose.

You know, if he is telling the truth, A Castelan was correct. Things are about to get interesting.

I am curious to see what led to him. He's been working with an attorney for weeks, which I've got to wonder if his mom is paying for that as I don't know that his attorney is working pro bono and if she went to LE.

Again...we most likely didn't get to see the whole interview and all we got to see was a few short minutes of him talking. Also, again, we didn't get to pick which questions were asked of him. I'm also wondering if he/whoever the lawyer was that stopped the interview asked them not to air certain things he said. At any rate, a very few minutes isn't a lot of time to get much of a story out. There are a LOT of things I'd like him and the State to elaborate on and explain. Maybe one of us should write to him in jail with a list of questions we WS'ers compile, lol. Hey, you never know...he might write back!

I agree, I'm curious what led to him too. I wonder if he was working on a silver Audi and the owner contacted the police saying, "Hey! I think the car involved in that shooting might have been mine!" I know if I were a customer of his and had a car matching that description I sure would. That's presuming he even did what he's accused of. I'm leaning toward phone records leading the police to him.
I sure wish they'd release the warrant/criminal complaint against him like they did for Erich. Is there any way to obtain that?

Someone asked Castelan to air the entire raw footage. His response: "I'll see what I can do."

Great, coz I could have sworn he said he picked him up in the morning in the video from the news.

Yes, I believe I did hear him say it was in the morning but what time did the incident occur? Anything after midnight is technically morning.

I listened to the interview and didn't hear DA say anything of the sort. The one who says "the next morning" is the reporter in this clip.
Words "the next morning" were also in the body of that article but now these words are gone. I guess the reporter is also confused as to when DA claims he actually picked EN up.

I don't know if 3 minutes will make a difference, but the LVMPD says 11:22:

At approximately 11:22 p.m. on February 12, 2015 LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 7900 block of Mount Shasta Circle to investigate a report that a woman had been shot.
