Oh, that doesn't look good for DA. How could he be so stupid? His only hope is a plea deal.

So does this mean the GJ testimony for DA has been released but not to the public?

Cops are allowed to lie to suspects during questioning. Until I see the full transcript to put this into context, or some kind of evidence, I'm going to withhold my verdict.

Can I add to this the "if EN felt threatened, why didn't he call 911?"

I expect a little more... no, a lot more maturity and common sense out of a wife and mother in her 40s than I do from a 19 year old on drugs with behavioral problems.

I expect victims and their family members to be a lot more forthcoming with police from the beginning, and more honest with the media, if they insist on speaking to them at all.

I don't understand the compulsion to turn a loved one's tragic death into a national spectacle, especially if it requires one to be disingenuous or dishonest to do so. It certainly did nothing to resolve this crime and bring about an arrest, IMO. It's not just this family, either.

So many times on the threads about this case I'm reminded of the Brady Bunch episode where the dad says "Remember, every time you point your finger at someone, there are three pointing back at you."
For example...EN didn't call 911 when he was feeling threatened, but...neither did the M family. EN lied to the police, but...so did the M family. EN had a loaded gun, but...so did the M family. And so on.

The sad and tragic fact remains that the events that led to a confrontation between these two parties were set in motion by the M family, unless there is another yet untold story that we haven't heard yet. And in this case, nothing would surprise me.

I'm not of the opinion EN or DA should get off scot free for their roles in the death of TM. I am of the opinion that there were mitigating circumstances, defined by law, that should and likely will play a part in the charges and punishment when that time comes.

IMO you can tell from his interview with the reporter that this kid just makes up lies as he goes.

Then he fits right in with the other players in this case. I have less sympathy for him than I do for EN. From what we know (and again, I use that term loosely) DA wasn't, at least in the beginning, being pursued by people with a gun. Did it say if his mom confirmed that he was home in bed and then went to the aid of his friend? I didn't see that stated. I, too, think his goose is cooked.

But they cost a fortune to maintain & repair. Or they used to. (LOL, I'm old.)
I owned an Audi Quatro. It didn't cost a fortune to maintain and repair. Then again, I have mechanic and parts supply connections. Since DA is a mechanic himself, it's not really a big consideration, especially since junkyards have second hand parts.

We need to see the whole transcript. All that article states his mom said is she asked him if he was involved and he said no, and we know darn well LVDA didn't subpoena her to ask her one question. There's more.

....And I just love how DA can sit there and claim he is so innocent,
yet his cell phone was in the area at the time.
Apparently his cell phone just took off on its own.
Who knew cell phones could do that? I sure didn't.
sbm

jjenny,
Sorry, no, DA's cell phone did not just take off on its own.
Apparently DA has bn an early tester of Amazon's Lyft-Uber-Drone Delivery Service or LUDDS app.

That evening DA entered command for LUDDS-drone to pick up cell from his hand (during home Bible study),
hover around school & park (while he refereed Youth Basketball for disadvantaged teens),
then directed drone to hover briefly close to M fam home (while DA led Cub Scouts camp fire sing-along),
with final command for drone to return cell to home.
Beta LUDDS w Alibi Enhancement Upgrade was just launched in LV, NV metro in early-Feb.
What a cohinkydink!? (sarc & snarc).

I still haven't seen the PDF posted. Does anyone know what the significance is of 10:30-11:00 PM, particularly why Andrews should have been communicating with EN then? BBM:
But Andrews could not explain why cell phone tower activity records showed his phone in Meyers’ neighborhood, or why there was no communication between him and Nowsch between 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. the night Meyers was killed.

You misread the article. DA's mother didn't claim she knows his car followed the Meyers. She testified he owns the silver Audi.
Despite that some neighbor claiming he didn't see DA in one.
And I just love how DA can sit there and claim he is so innocent, yet his cell phone was in the area at the time.

No, I didn't misread the article. You misread my question.

"But she also testified that her son owned the silver "But she also testified that her son owned the silver Audi prosecutors said followed Meyers to her home that night"

She can certainly testify that, of her own knowledge, her son owns a silver Audi.

Unless she was present, she cannot testify that he owned "the silver Audi prosecutors said followed Meyers to her home that night."

I can't answer why they lied, if you know please tell me :) I can only answer for myself on why I don't think the Meyers lied, I'm simply going off the GJ and police report and it doesn't seem like they are lying. Again, I can't go by what the media has reported or not reported and I certainly can't go by what RM says because he wasn't there. Hopefully we will have more information available to us so I can come to my own conclusion, but for now, I'm only going by what we have this far.

I've repeatedly linked to the press release at the Las Vegas Metro Police Department website in which the police department's own press release reported that the road rager followed TM & KM home and shot TM.

The Meyerses lied to police that night and for five days afterward. Wishing that away doesn't make it go away.

There is no evidence that these threats existed either, other than what EN claimed.

Just as there is no evidence that driving lessons or road rage happened, other than what KM claimed.

  • #657
Unless EN is the one doing it? After TM and BM left in their car and went to their home, why didn't EN do the same?

There isn't even a suggestion by anyone in the case that EN deliberately took a gun with him to go out searching for someone. It was the Meyerses who did that.

No, it's not okay. It's not okay that the Meyerses did it, and it wouldn't have been okay if EN had done it.

I'm sorry you thought I was putting words in your mouth, that wasn't my intention. There are some who keep tossing out how the Meyers lied and they seem to forget that EN lied as well ;) EN lied for days after the event and finally came clean.

We don't forget that at all.

1. EN lied because he was the shooter and he didn't want to get caught and go to prison.

2. The Meyerses lied because................?????????????????????????????????

Looks aren't everything. I love the way Audis handle.

I have to agree. Quattro = AWD = "handles"

literally

Thank you, SI :) were you able to get the GJ statement? I thought I read it was released to the public

The Review Journal article starts out with this sentence:

"Derrick Andrews, the alleged getaway driver for suspected gunman Erich Nowsch, told his mother that he was not involved in the fatal shooting of Tammy Meyers, according to grand jury transcripts made public Friday."

If they were made public, why oh why is no one providing them to the public?
