NV - Tesla Cybertruck explosion at Trump hotel in Vegas investigated as a possible terrorist act, 1 Jan 2025

This is troubling. How could he still be on active duty and this not be noticed? How many others are there like this actively serving our country?

The problem is, a lot of money/training went into ML. He likely has high IQ. But if he failed a course, could that be a reason to be referred to a neurologist?

One thing is, he probably couldn't continue as ops if he failed a course. But, there are lots of jobs, people may be treated and continue, not as ops but in some other capacity.

Far more than we would be comfortable knowing about.

Active service members are highly trained, yes, but they're human beings, and the job they do vastly increases the kind of physical and emotional trauma that can lead to neurological and psychiatric conditions. They're also exposed to situations that can lead to disillusionment and a rabbit hole of thinking down the path to extremes. Now, that doesn't mean they'll be violent. They may just decide to go and live in the woods forever. But combat changes people and leaves them disconnected from society, some to a severe degree; that's not in question, it's been observed for thousands of years. And that disconnect creates a vulnerability that can spiral out into extreme acts, some of which are violent in nature.

It's just so freaking sad. I'm assuming he could have gotten the best treatment available or as you say been repositioned to a job he was able to do. I just don't understand no red flags that we've been made aware of. He was home on an approved leave, I wonder if there's more to that than has been made public?

I have a question. If his body was so impacted by the explosion that they couldn't identify him how do they know he shot himself?
A bullet leaves a clear path through a skull. The inside of the wound tract would be coated with GSR, there would be bullet fragments studding the inside of his skull like a star map. They'd also be able to tell from the state of his trachea and lungs that he didn't inhale smoke or flame, so died before the explosions.

If you're still in doubt, they were able to determine cause of death for most of the members of the Branch Davidians at Waco, and the bodies in that case were far more damaged by fire and blunt force than Livelsberger would have been. Yes, he would have been severely charred, and yes, they probably had to transport the car and body in situ because of the tension in the limbs of a body burned by fire, but he wouldn't have been burning long enough or hot enough to erase the evidence of death by gunshot.

Is Kingsman Arizona a rural area, or more civilized. I would really hope we could get any video coverage from there. His last stop before Vegas. What did he do?
From Google:
Kingman is a city along Route 66, in northwestern Arizona. The historic road's role in American history is celebrated at the Route 66 Museum, set inside the Powerhouse Visitors Center. Murals, dioramas and a library at the Mohave Museum of History and Arts trace local history. Locomotive Park, featuring a 1928 steam engine, and the Kingman Railroad Museum document the city's past as a 20th-century railway hub. ― Google
Population: 35,334 (2023)

We've stopped there for gas years ago.

“The picture was taken during a government trip for “spy school” in Washington state 2019.”

I tried to find info on this school out of curiosity. So far I have only found there was a Spy museum that opened in Washington May 2019 with a controversial “what is torture” exhibit.

—Below is separate—

Timeline specifics:
The pair stopped talking regularly after they broke up in 2021, and she had not heard from him in more than two years when he texted out of the blue Dec. 28, and again Dec. 31.

Germany opened a spy school in Berlin in 2019.

With space for 700 students, more than 110 of whom can live on-site, the school offers lessons in covert observation, law, interrogation and IT. Among the practical skills students will learn are how to fend off cyberattacks, foil terrorists and shake off hostile agents on their tail.

Germany is where he was stationed:
The Pentagon told CBS News there "were no red flags" prior to Livelsberger's departure from Germany, where he was stationed with 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group. A CNN report Friday said Livensbeger visited military behavioral health services multiple times.

It's likely not a real "school", but a spot on a base etc.

There are a bunch of survival schools also. Camp Bullis was one for awhile, I don't know if it still is. SERE candidates face trial by fire at JBSA-Camp Bullis

Also Camp Bullis has a medic training school and it also serves as army reserves camp.
In other words it's probably not a physical school, but a program. It may change locations etc.

So, it's probably a program. It might be a "counter-intelligence" training. Heck, I wouldn't even know what they call it. I'm just familiar with "Survival School" cuz my dad went to one in the Philippines. An article might call it "Spy school", but the military might have another term for it. However, I'm pretty sure it's probably at a base somewhere. It may also be a hybrid in-person and virtual. It may not have a dedicated building and may be in a building shared with other trainings etc.

I see this as a very gifted man who served the US well (I am grateful as a citizen) and who hit severe mental health issues piled upon interpersonal problems, for which he was at least partially accountable (let she who is without sin cast the first stone. I’m not that woman. I’m guessing his estranged wife admired him and loved him and simply realized she couldn’t solve his issues and his straying. I am sure it hurt her and if I were her friend in real life I’d hug her a bunch).

I am guessing, MOO, that he loved that long ride in the Cybertruck. That he thought a lot as he cruised the gorgeous American West. That he knew exactly what he was going to do.

I find it remarkable that the glass doors of Trump Tower didn’t blow out. I respect and defer to the views of all, but I for one am glad that no one else was severely injured.

Agreeing with you, Caradana,

I am also grateful (in addition to "no one else was severely injured" by the blast), ... that this young man, in his misery, did not turn his anger toward his child and the mother of his child, as sometimes happens with depression, the burden of worsening mental illness, and and/or feelings that gravitate towards violence against oneself, or others. (esp. as the wife and mother of his child, seems to have ended the relationship in December.)

I am feeling very bad right now, for the Active Duty members and Veterans, who have TBI's and CTE from Blast Exposure, as this young man seems to have described all the symptoms of these horrific conditions.....to his former girlfriend.

We need to address (as a country) how to help these fine soldiers so that their emotional lives don't disintegrate leaving them isolated and in pain, ..... so that some feel there is no option other than to hurt themselves. (MOO)

I am gutted he took his own life. This is heart-breaking.

It's bull.

As I said before, he was every bit as much a domestic terrorist as the OKC bombers.

He was doing it to try and fix what he saw as a "weak" America.

I don't really care about his TBI or PTSD, what I wrote above is a clearcut political motive.

And a 'former official' of Homeland is just a talking head, not speaking with official power, so I put that in the same category as any other 'former' selling their opinion for $$$$.

MOO
Timothy McVeigh connected the eras of white domestic terrorism that characterized the 20th century and this more recent strain of extremism <modsnip>. Thus: Matthew Livelsberger imo

I hated McVeigh for so many years. He took so much of my personal and spiritual energy away. I was there. Those memories still haunt me. I can still see the Alfred P. Murrah building in a million pieces when I close my eyes and think back to April 19,1995. I'll never forget, I'm sure.

Per the NY TImes the name of the "spy school" is Advanced Special Operations Techniques
The sleeplessness and dark moods persisted, and his performance started to slip. In 2021, the Army sent him to its Advanced Special Operations Techniques course near Seattle, but, Ms. Arritt said, he failed out.

Lewis-McChord is in Washington State.

Description was AI generated, but includes a Scribd document, which it was generated from.

Advanced Special Operations Techniques (ASOT) is a training program for special operations units in the US Army. The ASOT course is 18 weeks long and is held at Fort Bragg, NC and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.

The course covers a variety of topics, including: special operations, mission planning, interagency operations, and technical and tactical skill sets.

To qualify for the ASOT course, students must meet certain prerequisites, including:

Livelsberger served as a Green Beret in the Army and was on approved leave from serving in Germany at the time of his death, a U.S. Army spokesperson said Thursday.

In a statement Saturday, the Army said Livelsberger had used the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program and was granted personal leave because "he did not display any concerning behaviors at the time."

Also -

Two phones were recovered from the vehicle, including one containing the two letters, Koren said. Investigators have been unable to access the other phone at this time, he said.

And -

Evans reiterated Friday that there is no evidence that the two events are connected, saying there are "coincidental similarities" between them -- including that both drivers were in the military, rented vehicles through the same service and stayed in an Airbnb.

BBM

Are they saying that ML stayed in an Airbnb at some point? That's what the above statement implies, if I am reading it correctly. We know that he bought camping equipment from other MSM reporting. And according to this article, he told the owner of the Tesla Cybertruck that he was going on a camping trip to the Grand Canyon.

The Friday LVMPD press conference mentions phone app notes from the suspect that seem to reveal planning this act, going back at least weeks. He was making a political statement of some kind.

My question: which happened first - the start of planning for the explosions or the wife asking for a divorce?

If it was the divorce talk, then I wonder - is the spouse financially liable for the !$100k Cybertruck bill? If so, it could have one been part of his plan - to turn the tables on her. Instead of him paying alimony/child support (she was expecting their first child, correct?) - she's now saddled with a large debt and he's not paying anything (but his life, bitter and tragic as it is.)

I hope there is life insurance she can collect, anyway.
