As you stated, for the bags to be so easily discovered, I agree it might be a calling card of some sorts. Not sure where to compile this information or if you all have more or even include LISK, but I wonder about the connections...

FWIW, I don't think the Brooklyn cases are related to this recent Bronx case. Maybe there is a connection we just see yet, but for now, I'm considering the Bronx case as separate.

i think this is a more recent missing. may not be reported. sure some are kept alive for a period but most are not.

This is assuming our Jane Doe was kidnapped from a family. It's just as likely, if not more likely, that this would be a runaway who was reported possibly even years ago. Perhaps a girl who was trafficked to New York and then had a run-in with a torso killing john.

I've had two friends who were reported missing in other states end up in New York due to sex trafficking (something they got in to because of heroin addiction). They both got lucky and were able to escape their pimps and go to treatment centers in the state I live now. In the recovery world, it is not uncommon to know women who ended up in NYC for long periods of time due to drug use.

The search began around 8 a.m. Wednesday. It is currently not known how police were alerted to search for the remains."

My initial hunch is the Uniondale, Long Island case is not related to the Bronx case. It also sounds like the Long Island remains have been there for awhile, not like the fresh remains in the Bronx. Also, it doesn't sound like the LI remains are dismembered?

Agree that they aren’t related. My gut does not think that the female found in the city was killed by MS13. JMO

Wow - I was just posting that I hope they are able to ID the victim (but the site went down for me so I couldn't post).

Officials determined that Velasquez suffered multiple blunt impact injuries of the head with skull fractures, and her death is being investigated as a homicide.

OMG, horrible and so unfair for this lovely young woman to have lived through that and then this horror.
This was the news concerning her mother's murder circa 2006.

Umm and no one called the cops??? I understand this was weeks before Lisa’s murder but what if there is another victim who could have been saved?

Unsolicited PSA - be that nosy neighbor. Go with your gut. Anonymously call authorities if you see/hear something not right. You just might save a life.

More body parts found in garbage bags, this time in a Bronx park - NY Daily News

Police were interviewing an ice cream truck driver who saw two men enter the park on electric scooters carrying three garbage bags at about 3 p.m., sources said.

This article says that the first find was the woman's head and that other body parts were missing.

So, the second find may be related?
