This one is looking promising. She went missing on August 27th. I couldn't find an exact date this UID was found in the newsitems (or maybe I missed it) Do you know?

The 24 year old woman, Merella Lopez was reported missing from Belmont on January 24 2018 and the uid found in bags was located on Aug 24 2018.

This is the second time within the past week that body parts have been discovered in the Bronx.

"Cops found at least two bags of body parts in the Bronx’s Barretto Point Park on Tuesday night — just days after police made a similar discovery in another Bronx park.

A woman alerted police to the grisly find Tuesday after her young son discovered the bags on the rocks near the Tiffany St. pier in the Hunts Point park, and saw a foot sticking out, police sources said.

Police were interviewing an ice cream truck driver who saw two men enter the park on electric scooters carrying three three garbage bags at about 3 p.m., sources said.

The bags contained a foot and several other remains, sources said. It’s too soon to say if the discovery is connected to the remains of a woman found in two plastic trash bags outside the southern edge of Crotona Park near Franklin Ave. on Friday afternoon, police said."

Ok this is nuts.. has LE said the first bags of remains were all complete and all one person? Or is this a completely new person? This is the same MO as the first set of bags left at the other park...

Yes, I'm thinking the two bags of body parts in the two Bronx parks are connected. (I don't think the Brooklyn case is related.)

It seems the bags are intended to be found - that some person or persons wants it known the bodies are in trash bags and discarded in public places.

Just a hunch, but seems like gang.

Though to dismember is completely bizarre....so maybe not a gang but a sick loner.

So, I have two conflicting theories.

I hope LE can solve this quickly. What a stress for the neighborhood.
