You’re totally right, I’m not sure…Another thought I had is that things could vary somewhat state to state due to licensing laws etc

Nothing new yet? Autopsy not done? Waiting for her obituary if any - date of birth?
May she R.I.P.

Does it seem likely that this was a drug overdose?
If it is not drug related, it seems odd because she was so young however, in all her pictures, she appears very healthy- shall I say radiant? IMO.

Yes, she is beautiful, not at all looking like a person who has problems with drugs. Drug use is cruel, however. Our community has a drug awareness cemetery that can break a heart of stone.

But, of course she may have died from any number of other causes. I don't mean to cast shade on her name.

She was beautiful AND achieving success in her own business. From the accounts, she was active and on the rise.

But it only takes one time to OD - the wrong amount and/or the wrong combo. A tainted supply?

I have no idea what happened but OD seems the most likely, if not carbon monoxide.

Most newer boats come with carbon monoxide detectors, and it's more of a problem out on the water when the engine / generator is likely to be running. Docked at a marina they'd be on a direct AC outlet.

It will be interesting to see what toxicology screening shows up.

'The Irish woman who died mysteriously on a yacht in the Hamptons reportedly told her boyfriend she was at a business meeting the night she died.'

"Her boyfriend has stated that Martha phoned him in the hours before her death to tell him that she would get an Uber taxi home around 1 am, reports the Irish Independent.
It's believed that the couple had planned to spend the summer in the area''.

'They are now in the process of completing a full post-mortem, which is expected to take at least three months.'

Would like more info about the late-night business meeting, but the 1am time is confusing.

12am: "East Hampton Town police officers were the first agency to arrive on the scene, responding to a midnight 911 call from a man reporting an unconscious woman on the boat." (link below)

1am: "Her boyfriend has stated that Martha phoned him in the hours before her death to tell him that she would get an Uber taxi home around 1 am." (from link in quoted post)

4am: "County police were called around 4 a.m., and the county homicide squad is now investigating the death." (link below)

Here is more info to fit into a timeline:

"Boaters whose vessels were docked nearby described the experience. The boat, which had a Grateful Dead sticker affixed, was, according to eyewitness, named 'The Ripple.' According to the group, who were sitting on the dock Wednesday morning, the man and Nolan-O'Slattara had been seen having a good time and 'partying' earlier on Monday.

They headed out on the water on another boat docked in the next slip, then returned and boarded 'The Ripple' Monday night.

Around midnight, two men said, they heard screaming and banging on the doors of the boats in the area as the man reportedly tried to get help.

'He woke us up,' one man said."

So TENTATIVE timeline:

Daytime: Having good time on boat. Nolan and boyfriend leave on another boat.
Night: Nolan and boyfriend return to The Ripple.
Late night: Business meeting. Told boyfriend she'd uber home at 1am.
Before midnight?: People heard noise and screaming, boyfriend woke them up
Midnight: Someone called 911. Local police officers arrive.
4am: County police called.

So, her & her boyfriend were on the Ripple & then left on their boat & then she came back for the business meeting at midnight? 🤔

No. It seems that Martha and her boyfriend were on The Ripple and left in another boat. The returned in the other boat to the dock that night.

The business meeting wasn't at midnight. The 911 call was at midnight.

I put this in the tentative timeline above - is it confusing? Let me know how to improve, if so.

Sorry, I’m just trying to get the actual timeline.
1) Martha and her boyfriend were on the Ripple.
2) Martha and her boyfriend go out on the boat docked next to the Ripple and came back to The Ripple.
3) Boyfriend leaves
4) Martha contacts boyfriend by cellphone later to say she would uber home by 1am during or just before a meeting’ with one man (not her boyfriend) that evening following her boyfriends departure?

No, this info ^^ does not seem right.

"On Wednesday, a notice of her death had been filed by her husband’s attorney. He also requested that a judge be assigned to the case and proposed a financial settlement for the court."

from the link in quoted post

So, a husband has entered the chat. imo

I am confused. It sounds like the BF was seen “partying” with her before her death “at night”. He says he left. He also says she had a business meeting until 1 am (after partying and on a boat? Hmmm) Yet he was back at the boat at 12. Did he ever actually leave? jmo
