Here is a map, and I have some photos of the 400-block of River Terrace, but it is not allowing me to upload them. I will work on resizing them and see if it makes a difference.

Map: 1=400-block of River Terrace; 2=available parking for west end of trail we were discussing; 3=available parking for east end of trail we were discussing
Got it, he could just park in front of one of the houses, the trail begins right there. The light company parking lot is down at the end of the road.

Are these the apartments where his jeep was found?

What a beautiful family, he looks happy to me but as we all know you can never tell, I just don't get a self harm vibe.

It says he was known to leave for runs at 4am so is it assumed that's what he was doing?

If he was there by the river around that time I think he may have come across some bad person/s.

Hoping for the best outcome and he is found safe.

MOO

I want so badly for this man to be found. Safe and sound. Where could he be? Surely by now the Jeep has been investigated? Ring videos looked at? I may have missed it but what about his phone? I need to go back and read again, although there’s not much out there right now.

Please DMD come back home to your family.

My husband went to grad school there. He ran for stress relief. The closer the time got to defending his thesis, the more he ran. The stress is off the charts. Fingers crossed he is found safe. Grad students do teach, some are just TA's

He could have parked in front of one of the houses, but he was parking shortly after 4 am. It could be that Dominic felt more comfortable parking on the 400 block of River Terrace at that time of the day. It seems like that is really early to run, especially during the early spring time, but his girlfriend says he often leaves as early as 4 am to run on trails along the Susquehanna River (Girlfriend of missing Endicott man speaks out about disappearance, linked above by @Knox).

IMO, Dominic parked there to do one of these things:
  • Get to the river path to run.
  • Go to the Vestal Ave. bridge.
  • Go directly to the river.
  • Visit someone in the apartments located in the 400 block of River Terrace.
  • Meet someone at the predesignated location.
  • Visit the cemetery (Not very likely, but it is located on that 400 block of River Terrace).
Perhaps LE can access Dominic's phone records, and see if Dominic had made plans to meet anyone that morning at 4 am.

Good points!

No updates as of this morning.

were his running clothes missing? Perhaps he wears certain shoes for running, that can be identified as such, at the very least. Does he have his phone? What happens when it is called? Did he see a dog struggling in the river? A person? Just grasping and hoping this man is ok... sounds ominous... please, please be ok...

In the OP, it says he was wearing this, which sounds like running clothes to me:

"wearing a dark shirt, dark shorts and gray/orange sneakers"

MISSING PERSON: DOMINIC DAVY | Facebook

April 16

Dom was last seen around 4:00 am Friday morning to (we assume) go on his regular run & workout.
Dom’s brown Jeep was found abandoned with his keys in the middle console. This was around 5:30pm the same day is disappeared. Jeep was found in front of River Terrace apartment complex. To their knowledge Dom does not know anyone who lives there or would not have a motive for being there.

Thanks, @mlhenn for posting that link. I'm so glad they have set up a FB page for finding Dominic. I certainly find the fact that the keys were in the middle console troubling. I wouldn't do that if I were running, but I know some people don't like taking their keys on a run.

Thinking about grad school while I was working. Most, but not all grad students are partly or fully funded. It is not a very large amount of top of free tuition. We also had 2 boys while DH was in grad school there. We were pretty darn poor- * he was fully funded and taught - summer income helped quite a bit. I hope his funding was better- and his Army service may have helped as well. His FB about Thor that Knox posted is troubling when combined with other posts. The dissertation stress, coupled with financial stress- add in quarantine, parenting, virtual teaching and learning = me worrying greatly about his mental state.

I am not hearing anything other than what has been shared. I spoke with a person who lives a couple of streets from the victim, and that person's brother lives on River Terrace -- neither of them had even heard that a man was missing.

This is not a place you can comfortably leave keys accessible like that -- I happen to drive the same Jeep (mine is dark green) and have to park it in the garage. The Jeep I had before this one was broken into three times and I know the person was looking for keys because my floor mats were flipped up and my visor was down.

The best scenario is he reached a breaking point and needed to take a break. According to all who know him, that would be out of character. But as you describe above, that's a lot of stress to endure all at once. Whatever the case, we want this awesome young man to come home to those beautiful little boys. They need their Daddy ...

I live in Endicott and graduated from the department he is studying and teaching in. I didn't know him personally but feel drawn to this. Out of curiosity, I found his Twitter account: @doomyay
The last post was written late on April 8th around 12:30am. It says:

"Am not smacked enough, or do I really don’t wanna do it."

To me, this sounds like he was saying "Am I not high/drunk enough, or do I not want to do it" with "it" possibly alluding to self-harm, suicide, running away, etc. His last liked tweet was one in which a person was lamenting the loss of someone:

"A student texted me “He’s gone” and I just started to cry. Did the best I could to counsel them but this is all so hard over the phone. Trying times for everyone."

It really sounds like he was thinking about suicide - this decision and whether he wants to do it, as well as how it affects others.
Think about it, his 30th birthday was just days prior on April 5th. He celebrated this milestone in quarantine. He was supposed to be defending his thesis and graduating with his phD in just one month. This economic disaster and the social isolation and its effects probably created the perfect storm when combined with the pressure of achieving. I truly hope he didn't take his own life, but with the bridge over the Susquehanna right near where he left his car, it's not far-fetched.

I am hoping that he fell while running and hit his head and is out of it. He has been missing too many days.
