I'm thinking the suspect is a caregiver for his elderly mother, grandma who was a patient of Shindach's. Which makes me think of the movie "Psycho".
Anytime, close enough. That's a right frightening movie. I have it on VHS.
I'm thinking along those lines and that Dr. Faughey was not the target. I think Dr. Faughey was in the wrong place at the wrong time. According the the NY Times:
A middle-aged man in a black cap and sneakers walked into the building, toting two pieces of black luggage. He said he was there to see a psychiatrist named Kent D. Shinbach. But Dr. Shinbach had another patient, a woman, waiting for him, so the man sat on a couch and made small talk. Then he disappeared into the office of the other doctor, Kathryn Faughey, the police said.

There is a also a statement from the man who was questioned.
And here I thought I had the suitcase solved...
Kunsman was in contact with Faughey lately, but didn't know what had happened to her two days later? I'm not sure I buy that. From the below link:
http://www.wnbc.com/news/15298960/detail.html?dl=mainclick
Kunsman said he had gotten up for the bathroom when police knocked on the door.
"They didn't say anything other than they wanted me for questioning," he said. "I had no idea what was going on because I hadn't even heard the news about Kathryn. It didn't become clear to me until during the questioning what had happened."
Sorry for the cross posts. So it IS him? The cops let him go? The NYC cops or the State cops let him go? He has to have fingerprints all over the place, no?
O.K. so first off he wasn't going to kill an innocent person because he sat next to the other Doctor's patient, and spoke to her. He could have killed her right there. I'm sorry I didn't mean an innocent person, but one who doesn't have any relation to this person. He couldn't have been kidnapping anyone because how would he have got them out? Maybe he was her patient, and was put on meds. I don't know. So, it is not the man from upstate, Pa or is it?The guy they let go is now identified by Doctor Shinbach?
I am editing my post. The below link is a better video of Kunsman. I don't think it looks like the guy at all. I don't see a bald spot on the back of his head. From what I can see that is.

where are you seeing a bald spot on the back of the killer's head?
eta....i see the guy with a cap of some kind on....
If you go to the below link and look at pic 4, it says the guy no longer has a hat on.
