There's a dance video on youtube under "Kaitlyn Conley" (from 2008). She is dancing to a song by Britney Spears called "Toxic." It sure looks like the defendant, but I'm not sure.

I'm only 50 miles away from it and just sitting on my lazy rear, reading you!

I think we're headed for another hung jury, 8 to 4 this time, and no third trial.

What do the rest of you all foresee?

I'm just the next county over.

Not enough testimony yet for me to predict the verdict. Personally I think she's guilty. I haven't read any testimony yet to change my mind.

I lean toward guilt but see no really compelling evidence to make me vote that way.

I'm very tired, I hope I'm not getting all the details mixed up ... but here are my thoughts:

For me the most convincing fact so far is that neither Adam nor Will Yoder were at the clinic the day Mary got poisoned, but Conley was. That's opportunity. Neither Adam nor Will had opportunity unless it could be shown that Will prepared some kind of food or drink for her that morning which she took to the clinic and consumed later in the day. Adam was not even in town.

Conley also had the means - the parcel with the toxin had arrived at the clinic a few months earlier. Mary kept ingredients to mix a protein shake in the clinic's fridge. All she had to do was put the poison in the shake or in some other food Mary had at the clinic.

I would be interested to hear more details about that parcel. What happened to it? Did anybody see it sitting on a desk or something? Did it then disappear? It was addressed to Adam, iirc, and Conley accepted it and signed for it. What is her explanation why she did not give it to Adam or let him know it arrived, as she should have if he really had been the one who ordered it.

I'm sure we will again hear about motive, as in the first trial. I remember that I was pretty convinced that she hated Mary because Mary did not approve of her relationship with Adam and encouraged him to move away, iirc. Mary had to go so she (Conley) could get back together with Adam.

I'm curious how the defense will try to pinpoint the murder on Adam this time round. He was not even there. How could he have possibly poisoned anything Mary consumed that day? Odd strategy imo. Well we'll see I suppose.

Btw, I found it very sad to read about how terrified Mary was at the hospital. She must have been so confused as well.

It's so awful to even contemplate the utter agony that mary suffered in her slow death. Several times I've closed this thread, but I just can't keep away.

She's guilty as sin, I just hope the jury are sensible with their decision.

After Conley provided an itemized list for Hedge to reimburse her, Conley began asking questions about Mary Yoder's death. The prosecution presented a text message exchanged between the two.

Conley: "Your dad said a toxin was found in the blood results can you tell me more? Adam alluded to it but he switched, swore at me explain how easily replaceable I am and said I was suspect. So I'm not sure how much I should talk to him. Is foul play suspected? Does anyone think it's from office?"
