Found Deceased NY - Dr. Tamara Saukin, 44, Staten Island, 18 Nov 2020

It is, but the problem is that she doesn't appear to have left that park.
I agree that she would have been seen if she had walked out and if she left by an entrance where there were cameras, but what if she just walked across a field and left mid block? Or what if she left by vehicle?
I just believe that she had to make a total and clean break for her sanity.

That would work if I knew her 'driven' nature like you described was inflicted upon her by others.
I'm not sure it wasn't her own doing, that she was the only one 'driving' herself, in which case a geographical change wouldn't do a whole pile because she'd be taking herself with her. And she would have an awareness of that.?

I noticed that her court date of Dec. 1st, this coming Tuesday was changed to Feb. 22nd, 2021.
Was this change requested by her attorney? Is it possible that he knows where she is and requested this change to prevent an additional charge of failure to appear? Or would the court do it automatically under the circumstances, this seems unlikely to me. So, why would the court date have been changed and by whom?

I have no idea how it came about.
We all saw the December date a few days ago.
And it's not December yet.

Looking at the court entry here https://iapps.courts.state.ny.us/we...cordType=C&recordNum=iQLqR3TvNEabYWqxLxvKYw== to see if there was any reason given to push back her next appearance, I noticed her lawyer is criminal defense attorney Mario Gallucci.

She had it all set up, planned, organised and she was doing it right, legally, it seems..
She was in good hands.
What happened?

..another thought just ran into my head...suppose she wanted to meet somebody without letting her mother know?
And suppose that meeting did not go well? For whatever reason?
Speculation because it's running too long without hope in the existing scenarios presented by media..

I understand you’re intention in exploring other options, but why not be open to the fact that she may have committed suicide due to a downward spiral? Jmo

I am open to it.
I just see no evidence of it, not even hearsay.
DUI was 6 moths ago, she worked an extremely busy practice right up to the day of her first court appearance.
That was the day she submitted her licence.
And she wrote to all her patients, thus fulfilling the requirements .
She was focused enough to do all that.
She was taking exercise regularly.
(that's all i know) But, no downward spiral, just a sudden disappearance. But no idea what went on in the preceding month either.

Kitty, I was thinking about foul play too. But I'm wondering, when LE says there is no evidence of foul play, do they mean only that.....or does it mean they have evidence of attempted suicide?
I've had trouble reconciling an attempted suicide happening at the end of a walk with her mother. I mean, why not do it alone at home and why put your mother in that awkward position with no information? It makes me wonder if her mother was living with her - either temporarily or permanently. As another poster said upthread, someone who is intent on suicide first needs to find the time and space to be alone for a few minutes and maybe this was the only way to achieve that if family members lived in the house.
Lastly, given her accomplishments, Tamara doesn't strike me as someone who would leave loose threads as to her intent or location. I know she may not have been thinking logically, but I'd think she would leave a letter behind. I'm not sure if a lack of a reported letter makes foul play more likely but it's something to consider. Of course, LE is under no obligation to report what they may have found in her home.
Clearly I have no answers but am inclined to believe to this is a suicide. It would be helpful to know what the park cameras referenced by Victor upthread would reveal.

People don’t leave notes behind as often as many think. Suicide isn’t rational.

it’s probably because it’s in a few days and the defendant is a missing person

Wouldn't the court have to be approached by her attorney to request to set a new date and he would have say why he wants it moved. The court would just treat it as a failure to appear wouldn't they? She could be voluntarily missing, she is an adult and can drop out of sight if she chooses, except that she has this court date hanging over her.

I finally get to hear a NY accent and I was longing for that.
This guy takes no prisoners.
Her chances were very good with him, I imagine

perhaps he went to the court and told them she is a missing person and requested a schedule change. I personally don’t think the date being changed has much significance or suggests that her attorney knows she’s voluntarily missing.

That’s only true if her intent is to return to life as a family doctor as if the DUI never happened.

We don’t know if that is what she wanted or if that’s what she thought was expected of her.

Maybe her life wasn’t working for her despite her accomplishments. Everyone who has commented has said she is thoughtful, perceptive, smart, etc. No one has mentioned she is happy or cheerful.

Her patients adored her. That said, @Sea Rider mentioned that she seemed under pressure to have a busy, overbooked practice and that she had concerns about traditional medical practices. (ETA): Also mentioned that she seemed to be in pain.

We haven’t heard anything from friends. Did she have any? Why isn’t there a vigil or an organized walk through the park to draw awareness?

Was her life so regimented that she only had colleagues and patients and fellow musicians and interns and her mother?

She’s incredibly accomplished. Was she content? I don’t get that impression. MOO.

Something that has struck me since first reading her short Healthgrades biography as posted earlier on this thread, is that, despite her accomplishments, she seems to be deeply insecure. I’ve never seen a biography/resume of anyone past their very early twenties that mentions a college s/he was accepted to (versus attending). It’s as if she’s still trying to prove herself. I suspect she was not a happy person. FWIW.

Looking at the situation, it does seem that she was taking the right steps given her legal situation.

She surrendered her license, she was spending time with her family, she was staying active, etc. I see effort into being healthy.

Did she have plans to go through with treatment, therapy? There are many holistic rehabs out there now, and it appears she was into holistic medicine.

Her accident probably did a number on her, even if it was some time ago. I hope she's still alive and not hurt somewhere in the park. For some reason I still have hope that she will be found alive.

I'm not sure if you read the whole thread but she was facing criminal charges for DUI and driving under the influence of drugs. They likely were about to suspend her license but she chose to surrender it.

Different states have slightly different rules and terminology but surrendering/relinquishing are generally not favorable with medical licenses. Physicians who just want to take time off but haven’t done or not done something that could compromise their license will leave their license active while taking leaves of absence. Of course some states now have specific rules about how long you can take off without having to jump through a lot of hoops to return. Some states also have a way to make the license inactive while on leave and that exempts you from CME requirements I think.

I think differently

I think getting a DUI that isn't able to be handled with lots of fines, and a suspension of a driver's license, combined with a situation in which surrendering a medical license is a good option, is a version of downhill
Meaning no one would wake up wishing for that - especially someone so accomplished and passionate

My view/thoughts

pOST UPTHREAD CONFIRMS IT WAS NOT PART OF ANY DISCIPLINARY ACTION. (capslock accidental)
Yes, but! I could be wrong but I was thinking that she most likely surrendered her license before being made to do so by disciplinary action. JMO
