'Prince Andrew Should Be Quaking in His Royal Boots': What's Next for the Rich and Famous After the Ghislaine Maxwell Guilty Verdict

The defense team has also tried to block the release of court documents related to Epstein’s 2009 settlement with Giuffre, which bears directly on Andrew’s case. Yet that argument did not succeed: On Wednesday, U.S. District Judges Lewis Kaplan and Loretta Preska in Manhattan ruled that the documents be released on Jan. 3, 2022.

“This is a huge setback for Prince Andrew and his defense,” Florida lawyer Adam Horowitz, who has represented multiple Epstein accusers, tells Rolling Stone. He pointed out that Maxwell is mentioned 23 times in Giuffre’s lawsuit against the British royal. “Had Maxwell been acquitted, she would have been a key witness for Prince Andrew. She could have denied all of the things that she’s accused of doing with regard to Virginia and Prince Andrew. The lawsuit says that Maxwell recruited for Epstein, that she manipulated victims for Epstein, that she intimidated victims and that Virginia was actually introduced to Prince Andrew through Maxwell,” Horowitz said. “Obviously he can no longer call her as a favorable witness,” Horowitz said. “They can’t call Maxwell now to refute anything.”

To help convict others yes, be a witness to other crimes, but it won't reduce her sentence, federal sentences have a certain point system they calculate on, there are parameters the judge must abide by in sentencing.

Her ship has sailed, her future is set. Her money can get her something in sentencing, like Clare Bronfman, a much larger restitution $.
Then, GM has nothing to gain by exposing others involved in trafficking and abuse. So, her lips will remain sealed, disappointing.

Unless she talks out of spite, since she is in prison and the rest are out leading their privileged lives.
However, she could fear for her life....

My prediction has always been and remains;

And this is MY OWN OPINION;

that should this first line of defence - denial - fail,
her appeal strategy will be to suddenly admit all these things happened but that she is also a victim of Epstein.
Upon what do you place your prediction? Is there evidence GM is a victim? I would love to see that.

Would the government need her help to bring charges against anyone else

They have the unredacted black books flight logs victim affidavits and Epstein’s Non Prosecution Agreement

She couldn’t handle a cross examination

Just read this for the second time. Inundated with so much info it got lost on me.
This makes so much sense!
They don't need her! They know who they will pursue next, if they choose to do so.
Victim testimony, volumes of data we really have no clue about.
Those little black books!
Wow.
Ghislaine is history. Done . No bargaining chips.
Moving on to the next perpetrator.
This could go on for years.
MOO.

Simply put: We know many members of the untouchable, privileged class are involved in JE's and GM's trafficking/ SA of minors and young women. My wish is this verdict is a beginning. Full disclosure whatever the cost.

I think the Compliant Victim ship sailed long ago, leaving Madame Maxwell far behind.

Looking at the pictures of her with Epstein, she looks totally besotted with him. There is never any forced smile, or tight forehead, or anything other than full-on total whatever-her-idea-of-love is. He was her everything.

She enjoyed a vigorous defense at trial, and she had a meticulous jury that inspected the evidence for multiple days,” noted Krell, the author of “Taking Down Backpage.” “At this point, she’s really going to have to face the music. I mean, these crimes carry 10-year minimums. She turned 60 last week, so she’s looking at possibly serving the rest of her life.”

As for the pending perjury counts, Krell said: “They could potentially go to trial, although it might make sense for Miss Maxwell to admit to those charges, and have the sentencing run concurrent, whatever she’s facing, if she’s hoping for any kind of leniency whatsoever on her on her current slate of convictions.”

Some experts have explored the possibility that Maxwell could cooperate with prosecutors following her convictions, but Krell believed that this option may be of limited appeal to her prosecutors.

“It’s pretty uncommon, at this stage of the game after a full jury trial, for someone to cooperate in a way that’s really meaningful to the outcome of their sentencing,” Krell said. “In other words, that ship has kind of sailed for her.”

Typically, cooperators are valuable in going after someone higher in a criminal conspiracy.

“Here, the way the evidence was painted, the only one above her is the person who’s dead now, Mr. Epstein himself,” Krell said.

In addition, defense attorneys would likely attack Maxwell’s credibility if she turned cooperator, given the exposure that she faces.

Ghislaine Maxwell's Verdict Won't Close the Jeffrey Epstein Saga. Here's What to Watch Out for in the Courts.
This is a powerful article, IMO.

I think that was half the problem. She seemed obsessed with him.

Found something else about this:

Still another twist of the screws..... the prosecution doesn't want anything she has to offer.

Maybe not? Authorities have lots of testimony and evidence from these many women who were abused.
IMO, they have finally been heard. Thanks to Madame Maxwell's sentence.
Has Pandora's Box finally been opened?

Excerpt form interesting article just released by The Guardian:

"...“It all depends on who she would be cooperating against, and what she has to offer,” said Jeffrey Lichtman, the defense attorney who represented the Mexican drug trafficker Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán at trial two years ago. “I would not be surprised if she had already tried to cooperate and it had failed.”...

and

"...The next chapter of the Epstein case, Murphy said, is likely to come through the civil action against Prince Andrew..."

Speculation grows that Maxwell may try to cut a deal for reduced sentence

Indeed. Bet if she could get her hands on him right now she would strangle him.
He hung her out to dry.
MOO.
Have often said that I take no real pleasure when people are found guilty. Always feel for the victims and the family of the perps.
But, her demeanor in court, along with her attorneys and family?
Well, let's just say I ain't feelin' that same way.
at present.

Based on what I have read I think it's coming.
The floodgates are poised to open.
As it should be.

Snipped for focus
Personally, I wanted this trial to be the trial to END the sexual exploitation and abuse of women. It has been eye opening to me, that there still is a protected class... ( see redactions) even in our Judicial system.

I will continue to hope that there will be a maximum sentence given to GM, but sadly I will not be surprised if it is not.

If World War One — “the war to end all wars” — didn’t end all wars, this trial will certainly not end the sexual exploitation and abuse of women. I am more sorry than you can know to say this but I thank you for the thought.

I've been wondering about this. Could she make a deal for a reduced sentence if she gives names? I'm sure there are more people involved in this than the ones made public. I want everyone involved in this to be made public. Private citizens, Royals, celebrities, politicians, everyone.
Rounding up Johns isn’t really high on LE’s lists when it comes to sex trafficking rings. This wouldn’t amount to much more than gossip at this point. Fingering movers and shakers is a different matter, but I’m not confident she has the goods to turn on anyone at that level. MOO, of course.
