philamena, he was transferring money from his account to another (QAT = Emperors). Financial institutions have regulations to follow regarding set transaction amounts, one being $10,000 and over. There are computer programs that track these, as well as auditors.

I heard the reporter say that the Gov. listed the Emperors business'somewhere' and that Emperors was in fact a legal business. A legal business that was a front for prostitutes. I swear the reporter said it was on his taxes. lol Guess I was thinking about tax time.

The investigation into the Emperors Club VIP gathered more than 5,000 telephone calls and text messages, and more than 6,000 e-mails , along with bank records, travel and hotel records and surveillance.

I wonder when this entire investigation of Spitzer began?? In politics, you just never know what might have triggered this, and who the investigating agencies might be. To have been a fly on the wall.

You are correct about it being the IRS investigating the transaction(s). The financial institution is responsible for reporting certain transactions to the IRS. So that's how it all got started.

Can you imagine being the first person to realize who was involved and what he was involved in?!

I read where they have been married for 20 years. Mrs. Adnoid and I had our 20th anniversary in January, and I have never been unfaithful to her since our second date. If I had done what this sorry example of my gender had done I would not even dream of asking her to stand by my side. I would stand on my own and apologize, and would have no expectation that my apology would be accepted.

I don't look down on her for standing next to him, whether he asked her to or she volunteered. I look down on him for letting her be there. He should have told her that he and he alone needed to take the heat for this.
