Yes, something's just not right with this picture. She is, pardon the uglienss here but, she is nothing but a ! And all of the air time the media is giving her! Her pictures and " story "is the lead story on every news program ! It's disgusting to me! No wonder our young people aren't quite sure where their priorities should be!

I guess sex sells, even if it's in the national and international news!
It wouldn't surprise me if Time magazine names her person of the year! I remember Monica Lewinsky gained that title, and I thought that was ridiculous then! And while Monica made some poor choices, she wasn't a prostitute!

It's just a sad statement of the way our country has deteriorated when a plain old hooker has become so news worthy, you know who it is when her name is mentioned!!!

Actually, I think it is about time a "john" went down. As Spitzer was insisting upon unprotected sex, it isn't just a moral issue. For Spitzer's wife, it is a health issue. She NEEDED to KNOW.

Usually, the prostitute's name is dragged through the mud and on the front page of every newspaper the names of the customers are hushed up.

I admit it. I am sick of hookers taking all the heat and "wealthy", "influential" johns with innocent wives getting off scott-free.

It seems this particular hooker is getting extras because she is exceptionally innocent-looking and pretty. BUT...all cases with exceptionally attractive participants make the front page.

I think people tend to think an exceptionally innocent looking and attractive female less likely to be bad. I admit that when I saw Kriten Rossum's pic (http://www.crimelibrary.com/graphic...ders/family/kristen_rossum/1-2(150)rossum.jpg) and then read what she had done I was shocked because someone that looked like her was capable of the crime.

Anyway, I don't think Dupre's fame will be long-lived. She may or may not hang be wise with the money she makes during her time of notoriety. The thought of her doing well during her time in the sun doesn't bother me nearly as much as all the hooker-USING men of influence who are publically one thing and privately another.

In my opinion, they are the worst scum.

I wasn't raised in a way that would have ever allowed me to pose nude or to be a prostitute back when I had it really going on.

Now that I am way older, worked my butt off just to scrap ends meat, lived a good decent life ......... NOW I could be a prostitute and do the mayor for 5k a pop.... and pose naked. But Life isn't fair........now they'd pay me to not take off my clothes. :crazy:

You have no idea what is being said to those girls behind closed doors.
She may be trying to shield them as much as possible. She may feel by standing there she is setting an example to them to hold their heads high and go to school. She may be telling them that they have nothing to be embarassed about.
Just throwing some thoughts out there.
Remember, he is the creep. He probably shouldn't have asked her to be there, but if had had character, he wouldn't have gotten into that situation to begin with.

ITA. She needs to show her strength to her girls. I think by standing up there looking beautiful and strong she showed the world that she isn't going to be broken by this. She knows her kids - we don't. They must be angry, confused and embarrassed. Silda is showing them that they can keep putting one foot in front of the other, regardless of what he did. They go to a challenging school, but one where many other parents are prominent politicians, sports figures and business people. Hopefully, those families are being supportive because they are aware of how difficult it is to have your personal business in the public spotlight.

Ashley is said to have earned a million dollars, already, just on her recorded songs. She might now want to rent the most expensive apartment. From near eviction, to the proverbial penthouse (possibly Hustler and Playboy too), in a few short days. Her attorney is also threatening suit for copyright infringement on the unlicensed use of her pictures, etc..

Well, here's something I actually know something about!

The income is taxable, even if it was made illegally. The fact that you do not get a 1099, W2, K-1, etc. does not mean you don't have to put it down.

You can put it down as "Income from a trade or business". That's accurate.

However, unlike attorneys, there is no accountant-client privilege, so be careful.

and just what percentage of prostitutes, do you think, actually claim income earned in the dark of night. It's all the contractors, and such, that do it in broad daylight, that bother me the most. The underground economy in the U.S. is enormous, and come to think of it, the sex trade may well be one of the largest segments. As is always said, "Sex Sells!!"

I read somewhere that around 80,000 viewers responded to a blog, when they listened to her music, and the majority of comments were negative!

I agree that this will be short lived. But she will definitely make $$ off of the new found fame and that bothers me!

Other cities that have tried the shame approach include St. Paul, Minn., Chattanooga, Tenn.; Cincinnati, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Knoxville, Tenn., and Omaha, Neb.

Some cities have seized the cars of those who solicit sex. Some have sent "Dear john" letters to their homes so their families can learn what they've done. Such crackdowns can backfire, though. In Kansas City, officials posted pictures of men arrested in prostitution cases on TV, but stopped the practice. Police Capt. Rich Lockhart said the program was a success at first, snaring some local lawyers and ministers. "It actually was quite effective, especially initially," he said.

Her husband is the one that made the mistake, he is the one who should be humiliated..but not Silda or her daughters. By standing there for a press conference with him she was showing what she was made of as the First Lady of NY. She isn't someone who would run away and hide her face..she has nothing to hide from. This is his fault, his humility and his show. It effects her, but how she handles it and what she does isn't our business. She played her part well as First Lady Of NY..now that time is over..leave her in peace for gosh sakes so she can get herself and life together however she feels fit.
