Cops Look for Missing NYC Teacher Who Didn't Show Up to Work

Police are searching for a Staten Island teacher who has been missing since Saturday.

Jeanine Cammarata, 37, was reported missing Monday night, the NYPD said.

Cammarata, who is 4-foot-11, 130 pounds and has brown eyes and light brown hair, was wearing a grey jacket and driving a Chevy Cruze when she was last seen, police said.

The teacher’s friends told News 4 she didn’t show up for her job at an elementary school on Staten Island on Tuesday.

She also missed work at a Dollar Tree on Staten Island where she worked a second job, according to her friends.

Not sure if this is against WS rules, but I read this above a missing poster on a friend's page.

"Jeanine was last seen on March 30th in Queens driving a white Chevy Cruz.

If anyone has heard from her (confirmed that you saw or actually HEARD her voice in the last 48 hours) please contact me, or please call the 120th Precinct 718-876-8500, opt#2 Detective Mazza

She is a mother of 3 children, she’s a school teacher. She’s never once NOT called into school. She’d never risk her job at the board of Ed in NYC. She’d never NOT check in with me or her sister. She didn’t call her mother for her bday, which was yesterday.

There are a lot of people very worried."

NYPD asks for help locating missing Staten Island teacher; friends on edge

Her boyfriend, Aaron, told the Advance she dropped him off Saturday night in New Springville after a shopping trip and said she had plans of picking up her children at the 120 Precinct stationhouse in St. George.

According to a law enforcement source, the woman texted a friend and indicated she needed to get away.

Obviously the text is suspicious, IMO.
She missed her mother's birthday and a child custody hearing with her ex-husband on Monday.

Especially when she was supposed to pick up her kids (from ex?) at a police station. That isn't a normal transfer, is it?

Only in situations where there is a no contact order or previous situation where they need to have supervised exchanges. In DV situations its often where child exchanges take place. Did she plan to pick the kids up Sat night after the shopping trip? I wonder if the boyfriends building or where he was dropped off has any cameras? I know that many if not most all traffic lights on Staten Island had cameras on them.

Was she to pick up her kids after dropping off boyfriend. That would be drive from New Springville, Staten Island to ST. George, Staten Island. Who saw her in Queens?
Her home is fairly close to the 20th police precinct. It would be in between where she dropped off her bf and where she was picking up her kids.

I haven't seen mention of Queens in MSM reports on police statements, just the New Springville area as where she was last seen. I do admit the Queens location is still up on a poster on the social media page.

Desperate Search Begins For Staten Island Mother And Public School Teacher Reported Missing
“She would always text me, let me know if she was going somewhere, that’s why I couldn’t believe she was actually missing,” the teacher’s friend Jose Perez said.

Perez is also Cammarata’s landlord at her apartment on Cassidy Place. He added that he hasn’t seen her white Chevy parked outside since last week.

Police say Cammarata’s roommate received a text message from Cammarata Monday saying she was ok, but her roommate does not believe Cammarata wrote that text.

“She would never run away. She got her kids, she would never do that. Running away is not in her character,” Perez told CBS2’s Ali Bauman.

Cammarata’s sister told CBS2 by phone that the mother had been in a custody battle with her ex-husband over their three children.

“She was supposed to have an appearance yesterday, on Monday, and she never showed,” Christine Ross explained."

She did not show up to work Monday or Tuesday at PS 29 in Castleton Corners. Cammarata also missed her shift at her second job at a nearby Dollar Tree store, sources said.

Tuesday night detectives took her unidentified boyfriend and a Dollar Tree coworker in for questioning, sources said.

Saturday night her boyfriend called 911 reporting Cammarata missing. He told cops last saw her leaving his New Springville apartment to meet her estranged husband and their kids, cops said.
