Maybe it was a question of not having a recent phot and she could have dyed her hair that day, lol
Sorry, but it has no sense. If she had her hair done DAYS before dissapearing her husband has to know it and there is no reason for him to not provide LE with an actual description of Jennifer, even if she dyed her hair neon pink. What is more, Jennifer did nothing new to her hair, so there was no need to even mention her hair appointments. So there should be no haircolor issue at all. How comes there is an issue? And it's not just a mistake made by sloppy reporters, the information about Jennifer posibly dying her hair is available also on the Chenango County Sheriff official Facebook page. So who actually gave the LE all that confusing info?

Excerpt: As the last few days have been blurred into one long nightmare I have finally let myself reflect upon the past a bit, something I normally dont allow myself to do, the husband, an avid running enthusiast and marathon competitor, wrote on Facebook.
Jen would NEVER EVER leave our kids and I willingly, the posting continued. She has never left home and not keep in contact within 2-3 hours via phone or text. She would never miss our daughters Winter Concert last night or her birthday tomorrow. I hate to say this but I have given up hope that shell be found safe and sound. The kids and I miss her so much, her laugh, her quirkiness, just everything. Today I went to Walmart and I grabbed my cell to call home and ask her a question about which item I should purchase and reality smacked me in the face and I started crying uncontrollably! That was rough! I am strong and I know the kids and I will get through this.
Elaborating on the ordeal, Ganesh Ramsaran went on: All I want is for Jen to come walking through our front door safe and sound and giving us all hugs, but I have lost all faith that will be the case. The helplessness and the not knowing is an additional nightmare which I cant escape from right now. The lack of sleep, the loss of appetite, the stress of not knowing, the worrying where and how she is doing is a burden that I never thought I would have to carry but life comes with some curve balls.

I've just been reading over this older article again and I don't know if it's just me but GR's FB post appears more to be about himself than his wife. IMO. The part about how he's "given up hope that shell be found safe and sound" and also where he said he "started crying uncontrollably!" at Walmart seem a little odd to me. IMO

I don't think that it is really telling. I have friends who change their hair color all of the time - not drastically but enough to be obvious. That is not that abnormal and if it was two weeks before her disappearance then I doubt it is even related. It was likely just a regular hair appointment. If it has been within a day of disappearing then I would put more weight on the change. JMO
I live in this woman's general area. Very sad case, indeed.
A woman not far from her became missing last summer, and there was little news on her as well. She still hasn't been found.
As for dying her hair, whether or married or not, many women just do it on a whim, and it means nothing other than "I want a change." Sure can't know in this case. At least not yet.
I hope and pray this has a good outcome, but the more time passes...

Not very specific, but LE is waiting on something.
