Nah, I think that was a cover story.

I think Jeffrey was smitten with the young, handsome James and they set up an arrangement. It seems "old-school" to me - where Jeffrey didn't want to out in the open about their relationship, but wanted a story that allowed them to be together in public.

JMopinion, of course.

Agreed. Gay men used to do this quite often in Japan. The older male would usually legally adopt the younger, not just for "appearance purposes," but also to make sure that the latter would have full access to everything that comes with being a family member.

Jeffrey must have been quite smitten:
"Records show Beaudoin hails from south Florida, where he has been arrested at least eight times, including for armed robbery, burglary and driving without a license.

Beaudoin was busted in 2007 for armed robbery with a deadly weapon while wearing a mask and for criminal possession of synthetic pot, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office. He was busted less than a year later for violating his probation, according to arrest records.

In 2009 the Broward County Sheriff's Office arrested him again for burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and a probation violation, records show.

Since 2009 he has been re-arrested at least five times by the Broward County Sheriff's Office for violation of his probation, records show. His most recent run-in with the sheriff's office was in 2011."

So James was only 16 or 17 when he was arrested for "armed robbery with a deadly weapon while wearing a mask." Just in FL, he has been arrested no fewer than eight times.

Bo Dietl has been quoted as saying Jeffrey knew James had a troubled past (being a PI, maybe Dietl was the one who uncovered the information). It sounds like to me James was more than troubled, yet Jeffrey still took him in. It probably was something they both benefited from. So sad.

<snip> "We're treating this case as a homicide. Both of these defendants were seen in the basement adjusting the surveillance camera. Dilione is the last person who saw Joseph Comunale alive.” [ADA A. Carter]

http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york...-partygoer-stabbed-15-times-article-1.2877608

Also, seeing reference to body was bludgeoned for first time ("police said").

Could that explain the broken pelvis? Body, whether in luggage/duffel bag or not, thrown from window or balcony is hard for me to believe.

I was just about to post this exact tidbit.

The comments made by NYPD "sources" on Thursday were Comunale was last seen in building surveillance video with James Rackover which directly contradicts the comments of Assistant District Attorney Antoinette Carter state Comunale was seen with Dilione.

As a former New Yorker, in reading the NY tabloids coverage of this incident I have come to the conclusion that Jeffrey Rackover yeilds far more influence/power and is better connected than we understand. The sensationalism we read in the Daily Fail's revelation about Jeffrey and James' parent-child relationship [or lack-thereof] is being treated with kid gloves by both the Post and the Daily News. That aspect of the story is what sells newspapers in NYC and when neither paper play it up on their front pages it is quite curious to say the least.

EDIT: YUP, JEFFREY IS A POWERFUL MAN --
From NY Post February 26, 2012
Andrew Bowler and Gigi Causey — who spent their $25,000 nest egg to make the short film “Time Freak,” and then became YouTube sensations for posting their elated reactions to its getting an Oscar nomination—received another awards surprise. After they told “The Early Show” host Gayle King they would attend the Oscars in a $35 rental tux and thrift-store gown, jeweler-to-the-stars Jeffrey Rackover, who dresses Oprah, saw the segment and offered Causey $10 million in diamonds to choose from for the event. “I did spend the afternoon with Jeffrey in Beverly Hills picking out the most divine pieces to compliment my dress,” Causey told us. “I feel like Cinderella!”

I'm guessing and so it's JMO but the broken pelvis probably stems from trying to fit an 180 pound man, who forgive I cannot recall his height into luggage. Such a scary sad situation.

Yes, that makes more sense to me. May have used an object to accomplish that.

Speculating both that object as well as the murder weapon used in the stabbing were in the second piece of luggage on the cart.

My guess is that piece of luggage was tossed into a body of water on the trip to Monmouth County.

That was the first thing to come to my mind as well ... :(. Overall, the perps were very sloppy, IMO, and I'd guess that James really didn't care because he figured Jeffrey would bail his axx out once more (and that's still possible, unfortunately). He probably told Dilione Jeffrey would help him, too, just to get him to help get rid of the body, only to throw him under the bus afterwards. Typical sociopath ....

I assume it was Dillone who told LE. I wonder why he did.

When I first read this quote yesterday morning it just seemed like normal BS from a relative about someone accused, however since we learned that James and Jeffrey are NOT related this quote is VERY curious...VERY curious:

“To me, he was a sweet, loving kid,” said Rackover’s grandfather, who did not give his name. “I don’t know him in any other sense. It’s a shock. I love that kid. I can’t see him doing something like that. Who knows what went on at that party?”

From the NY Daily News:
Comunale met his killers at the lounge and arrived at the apartment with three other men and three women around 4 a.m. Sunday.

So 9 people returned to the apartment circa 4am Sunday? [Comunale, Rackover, Dillione, 3 other men and 3 other women]

<snip>

This, as sources tell NY1 police are also looking for a third person who may have tampered with evidence in the case.

http://www.ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/news/2016/11/18/sutton-place-murder-latest.html

This third person May be the third male (and 3 females who left after) Joey entered the bldg with.

Thinking: Joey, James, Larry and (Unknown to Public) another Male
7 in total, imo

Damn. Where did he go?

What a nightmare case :(

I looked over every court entry https://www.browardclerk.org/Web2/ for James Beaudoin and none of them mention the synthetic pot I've seen mentioned in MSM articles.

Interestingly enough, a couple different arrest records show his address in NY while others show FL.

Yes, you're absolutely right; there was some sort of report about strange activity. Do we know if NYPD responded to that report?

There is one piece of photographic evidence that makes the body in luggage dropped from balcony plausible:
The image of a detective closely examining the bench and bushes located in the area below the balcony. However one can see the top of the bushes in the photo and the bushes do not appear to have been disturbed.

While I don't have any experience with disposing of a corpse, logically I would be concerned that as a result of the impact of dropping a 180lb human that is concealed in luggage from 30 feet high, the luggage would break or, if it was a large, soft canvas bag, that the zipper would burst and the body would be exposed or fall out of the luggage.

Like I said, I have no experience in this so I really don't know if I'm right...

Here's an idea....just brainstorming here.

It's strange that Joey is seen entering the building twice - once with the whole group at 4am and then again at 7:30am. There has been no report of him on video exiting the building.

Maybe he went over the balcony (either pushed, fell, or climbed down) and then he walked back into the building.

Just an idea.

Add to that:

10:30: Jeffrey (the "father") shows up at the apartment to walk the dog. Says nothing looked amiss.

??

According to Bo Dietl, "Jeffrey went to sleep on Saturday night, then at 10am he went down to Jimmy's apartment to walk to dog. The place looked fine." The way it reads, it's kind of confusing, but I think Dietl means Jeffrey went to retrieve the dog from Jame's apartment at 10 o'clock Sunday morning.

Also, the timeline in a DM article (below) says,
"Sunday, 7:30am: Comunale is seen on surveillance reentering the building."
as well as
"Sunday evening: A man in Rackover's apartment calls to request a luggage cart. Soon after two men roll out two suitcases on the cart."

So I think it's possible that Joey was still alive and well when Jeffrey stopped by, or when he came back to return the dog after the walk (or he could have kept the dog for the day, etc.). He might have seen Joey, James and Dilione hanging out and thought nothing of it. Or they could have been a sleep, etc.

Joey was stabbed 15 times in the chest and the report also says he was bludgeoned. Not sure if that "bludgeoned" description is about the stabbing or if it indicates he was beaten as well.

In any case, it would not be easy to attack a big guy like Joey. We knew he used to play hockey, and that makes me assume he was also strong and able to handle himself in a physical confrontation.

Yet, I look at the photos of the two perps in the coverage of their appearances in the past few days. Not a scratch on their faces, no indication of any fight.

Rather curious detail.

There was a 911 call from someone who reported someone disposing of something in a strange way. I don't have the link handy....but something strange was noticed and it was strange enough to trigger a 911 call.

We're missing some info...

jmopinion

Here it is. Dragged and then placed into a vehicle.

<snip> Meantime, sources said the NYPD had received a 911 call about a man dragging a suspicious trash bag out of the East Side building.

The man, a resident of the building, had been seen stuffing bags into his car after partygoers left, CBS2’s Magdalena Doris reported.

Edit: No reference to who placed the call to 911.

I see this:
"Possess Cannabis/20 Grams Or Less
Date Filed: 08/31/2007
Current Statute: (MM1)893.13(6)(B)
Filing Type: SAO Information- Not In Custody
Filing Agency: Broward Sheriff Office
Original Statute: (M1)893.13(6)(B)-Possess Cannabis/20 Grams Or Less"

And yes, it shows his address in Astoria, NY, which I believe is about a half hour from the Upper East Side by public transport or by car.

This is why self defense may not work as a reason. I noticed as well.

If I saw my neighbors dragging a bag and then putting it into a car, I wouldn't think it was strange enough to call 911. There must have been something REALLY strange about the package and/or the demeanor of the people carrying it to make a neighbor concerned enough to report it.

Could the 911 call have come from the doorman who was asked how long surveillance videos are kept on file?

Totally possible. IDK.

Agreed. And it's probably why Jeffrey was able to get James a cushy white collar job. It's very competitive out there, and there is no way James would have gotten that job without Rackover's help. Most companies do background checks, and even the most cursory check would have uncovered his criminal record. I'm betting that Rackover's influence cut through the Human Resources red tape. Do we know if James even had a college degree?

I don't believe he had a college degree. Some reports say he "attended" Florida State University.
