Perps may have been concerned that the employees who take care of sorting through the garbage may have opened it up if they saw/felt it contained only soft material figuring it might be clothing (not uncommon). Had they seen very bloody clothing, they would have certainly alerted NYPD.

So why not just dump the clothing in a plastic bag in NJ?

This is in response to the general questioning the pants, not necessarily to this post specifically - just trying to keep the conversation in a flow.

If a female were discovered dead in a shallow grave after being in apartment where her pants were found after a night of partying, what would you think? That she took a shower or nap? No, I don't think so.

I am assuming that whatever happened in the apartment had something to do with sex. Maybe/probably drugs and money as well. It doesn't have to be sex OR drugs - it could be both. But drug-deals-gone-bad don't involve the people taking off their pants, do they?

Of course, the perps might have removed all his clothes to delay identification and hide their own DNA.

But, I do think sex is somehow involved.

I agree...just saying that the argument & attack may have begun as the victim emerged from a shower, when he was sleeping or upon waking.

I hear ya.

If they were still up at 7am when the guys re-entered the building, they surely had to fall asleep SOMETIME during that day, I would assume.

I don't think money was involved. I also don't think robbery was involved (cash, keys or credit card).

Perps' drug use that eve & morn + victim's rejection of sexual overture = Rage (Number of stab wounds)

I thought maybe they took them off of him to put him in duffle bag easier. Ugh so hard to even type that!

But your theory could also be why they were off too.

but his legs were burned. Why would they remove his pants if they were burning him? Am I making sense? Actually, the pants would have accelerated the burning. Ugh. So awful. So freaking evil.

I think they burned him when they went to NJ right? They had to fit his body into the bag first. Ugh I feel so bad just even typing that!!

I know! I can't even think about what they did to him. Sickening.
I just don't see them removing his pants after stabbing and throwing him out the window and whatever else they did.

I'm finding it so hard to post without cursing.

I think the fact that he was stabbed fifteen times is overkill, which means drug induced rage, or....crime of passion.

So they are out partying at the bar, he is with his three female friends and cannot dump them. We do no know JC sexual orientation, but the two suspects are attractive, young, weathly, connected, well built dudes. Perhaps light flirting was going on with one or the other suspect. The bar closes at four a.m., they go back all together for the after party as JC would not ditch his female friends. The party continues into the morning. They walk out the girls, and the suspect walks out with JC, it seemed to take a bit of time for them to walk them out, so perhaps the females left and they acted slightly on what was building all night. They go back up, hang out a bit, kicking off their pants, guys tend to hang out in their undershorts...and say its time for some sleep. Now I do believe the Jeff was the sugar daddy of the suspect. Why a separate apt? Because he does not want to be open about it, and he dates females that might not be comfortable about it, he wants his cake and eat it too, and he can afford it. So, I think that the suspects were more then friends. I think while suspect one is Jeff's boy toy, he allows him to have freedom as long as he is there at his beck and call. So....Suspect one and Suspect two have a relationship as well, for partying, doing stuff young guys do, friends with benefits. Fast forward, they all kick back to go to sleep. At this time the second suspect takes the opportunity once he knows his partner is asleep to advance on JC...a welcomed advance. But Suspect one wakes up, sees what is happening and between the drugs, drinking, and jealousy he attacks JC killing him with overkill. Now its up to suspect two to assist his friend and partner to clean up and dispose of the body. He feels guilty and obligated. They talk, figure out a plan and stumble through it. This is all just how I see it in my head, I am probably wrong, but I cannot help but feel this was a crime of passion. JMHO

Usually, when trash goes down a chute, it lands in a big room where it's stored until "garbage day". Trash is collected from the curbside on one day, recyclables on another. So unless it's "garbage day", investigators can just go to the room in the basement where the trash is stored (and have the unenviable job of searching the bags).

And this process is probably the reason the tipster called 911 about someone dragging a suspicious garbage bag out of the building. It would be out of the ordinary for anyone other than a porter/janitor to be removing garbage from the building. And most people use luggage carts to move anything else from the building, to a waiting vehicle. All this is overseen by the doorman or porter. I live in a luxury highrise and anything coming into or out of our building is done out in the open, usually facilitated by building staff.

It's like living in a hotel. There are people who do that, and doing it yourself arpuses suspicion.

I know this is probably insignificant, but, its nagging me.
Joey's pants were disposed of. IMO the perps did not remove his pants. They were already off.

I'm not sure where I'm going with this. Lol.
There's absolutely no evidence to support this claim.

THEY TRIED TO BURN HIS BODY.
THEY DIDN'T WANT HIM TO BE ABLE TO BE IDENTIFIED.

I had mentioned earlier that I found it odd that the perps would stop to bleach JC's clothing. Believe his pants.

Think the apt has a small washer & dryer. His pants, other clothing? were placed in a plastic bag and deposited in the chute. Then I think

discovered later in the trash. I suppose the bldg's garbage was eventually sorted & put outside.

I still find going through the trouble of bleaching the clothing rather odd
Probably because there was blood on his pants and if someone was dumpster diving and came across bloody pants there's a chance (albeit small chance) they might alert authorities. Bleached jeans are far less incriminating than bloody jeans.

First, I have no idea what you are talking about. I'm not making anything of anything. I stated my opinion and that I see no reason why the perps would remove his pants prior to burning him.

Further, the below link was edited, but originally stated that his legs were burned. If you google "joey communale legs burned" it still comes up.

Agree.

My guess as to why they didn't dump the clothing in NJ:
They're dumb guys who believe they're brilliant.

I would bet money that a lot of their post killing (What do we do?) decisions are from things one of them saw watching Making a Murderer. (Not burning the corpse with the jeans because that identified the girl on that show)

While they did a really awful job at destroying evidence/cleaning up, they probably thought they did an awesome job and left no trace of him.

EXCLUSIVE: James Rackover, man arrested in brutal stabbing at Manhattan party, says he’s innocent; ‘I’ve never killed Anyone'

Snip

Suspect James Rackover doesn’t dispute that victim Joseph Comunale, 26, was in his apartment Nov. 13. But he claims he never even laid eyes on his guest, and he knew nothing about Comunale’s death until after he was arrested.

“This is complete bulls---,” Rackover told the Daily News Sunday during a jailhouse interview at the Manhattan Detention Complex, where he is being held on $3 million bond. "I’ve never seen this kid. I don’t even know who he is.”

Snip

He said the group stayed at Rackover’s place until about 7 a.m., drinking and hanging out. There were no arguments or disagreements that could have preceded the ghastly killing, Rackover said.

He also said that after they all left, he went straight to sleep. Rackover said he hung out with his dad and the pair watched a football game on Nov 14.

I guess he is going with deny, deny, deny.

Surveillance. Eye witnesses. Traffic cams. But he insists it wasn't him.

All of the evidence points to this being about drugs and/or money.

Literally one line in one news story suggested the sexual advance & rejection motive and everyone is obsessively focusing on that one line despite a lot of evidence and basic logic pointing away from the sexual motive.

The large safe removed from the apartment is literally a big piece of evidence that everyone is ignoring.

Can anyone identify one case in history that a gay man murdered a heterosexual man who rejected his sexual advances?

Maybe they watched Making a Murderer and knew that the Daisy Fuentes jeans played a key role in identifying that lady.

I've not read anything that states JC was heterosexual or homosexual. Conjecture has come from looking through his SM, because JC was very attractive yet there is minimal/next to no photos of him with women. So I think a lot of people do not believe JC to be heterosexual. I'm not disagreeing with you or anyone's statements, just trying to address the last part of your post. It's purely speculation however.
