Wow, I always thought they were initially charged with murder by the headlines and articles that stated they were. I even added and subtract those charges with the bond decreases and lesser charges. It shows that you have to take even the reputable news sources with a grain of salt. I never read an update to the initial false stories or redacted with an apology at the source. It is good to know and thank you.

Several MSM outlets DID LEAP AHEAD that eve (Thurs Nov 17) and published reports that Larry & James were Arraigned on Murder 2 charges. Then, walked it back late that eve and/or the next morn, Fri Nov 18

NYPD had received a 911 call about a man dragging a suspicious trash bag out of the East Side building.

The man, a resident of the building, had been seen stuffing bags into his car after partygoers left, CBS2’s Magdalena Doris reported.

I have a bunch of new questions.. If he's in a suitcase, doused with gas, how do just his legs burn?
From the beginning they flip flopped on whether he was in the suitcase or not.
Then he was dismembered.. Then not.. Now its Monday with the mystery garbage bag.. I'm truly confused.

From past cases I've followed I would say that it's sloppy reporting. Everyone is in a hurry trying to be the "ONE" to get the big story. Quality of information suffers. We will hear all the evidence that LE collected at the time of trial. I would also expect LE to provide more information on some of the evidence when a person is charged with Joey's murder. In my experience we don't usually hear every detail until trial.

The DailyMail usually gets great photographs, but the reporting tends to be inaccurate. I've seen the coverage of many cases get botched in the DailyMail coverage - they just don't bother to be accurate. I would take their reporting with a grain of salt and check it against other reports. But, they are fast and they get good photos.

The DailyMail usually gets great photographs, but the reporting tends to be inaccurate. I've seen the coverage of many cases get botched in the DailyMail coverage - they just don't bother to be accurate. I would take their reporting with a grain of salt and check it against other reports. But, they are fast and they get good photos.

I agree the Daily Mail can be a hot mess at times. I think being at the scene and them getting all this hot off the press I might be able to read some things into it. I'm now getting so familiar with the case, I can decipher where the discrepancies are in the the MSM reporting, possibly giving me some clues.
The said truth shouldn't be changing. The truth has one story.

So the tape leads them to him. He's had many panic stricken hours to mull this over and throws James under the bus.

The news on this case is so inconstant. You have to figure, Larry was interrogated for 48 hours after most likely with no sleep, with his attorneys claiming he had representation and don't show up to the courthouse for 48 hours and thats when the interrogation stopped. That seems kind o shady they would not be there earlier....what were they doing, letting the client stay there or 2 days??? SMH

I do not remember and have not read of any of the previous reports of charged with murder being redacted by the media to prevent lawsuit which can be great in high profile case with misleading the public and stating false facts stirring bias. IMO they were initially charged, but was changed from within and never addressed publicly. It is imo a good lawyer would have the papers redact the false information if they were not in fact charged with murder.

A good lawyer is more concerned with his or her case and putting together a defense then the media sensationalizing the story. It's the press... what do you expect? of course ***** is going to hit the fan, especially with JR being the "surrogate son" of Jeffrey Rackover - "jeweler" to the stars.

Additionally, although the boys may have been originally charged with second degree murder, it's the formal charges - the indictment - that summarizes the actual status of their charges. Technically, charges were never lessened, merely, they were brought in under one set of accusations, and those accusations have shifted when presented in a formal capacity to the Grand Jury.

My GUESS is that LD was brought in for questioning.. and that he didn't have representation and/or his parents were on the outside trying to find an attorney to take the case. The kid probably had no clue what was happening, perhaps had an idea, but panic begins to take over as the time passes. Considering his lack of experience in these types of situations, he's not quite aware that he can say "I want an attorney" and then bam, that's it everything stops. no, he has no idea.
LE intimidates him, but still casually asks him questions like it's no big deal, further throwing him off without him realizing his miranda rights. He doesn't think to ask "am I being charged or with a crime or not?" Because if not, he can just walk right out but he doesn't know this because he's scared.
I can see the Defense coming from the long hours of interrogation angle to attempt to throw his statements out of court... the fact that he was questioned for so long could play into some sort of bid that LE harassed LD and therefore his statements may have been taken under questionable circumstances.. MAYBE. I can see the Defense coming from that angle, possible.

I think they arrested him on the driving charge just to get ahold of him and make sure he didn't make a run for it. It gave LE some breathing room to pull together other charges.
