Great find. He looks identical to the sketch in Karina's case. Since this sketch was 2 years ago its quite possible he doesnt weigh as much now.

They both even have noticeable groove (philtrum) in the middle space above their upper lips.

Use of technical term duly noted! :)

Sorry to keep quoting myself, folks! I'm thinking aloud here.

Person in Karina's sketch is 5'10, medium build.

Person in Morningside Heights attempted rape in 2014 is 6', 250 pounds.

Seems like a big difference to me, but perhaps not.

The sketches look a lot alike to me. Could be same person, could be coincidence, could be someone who has seen the 2014 sketch???

Another similarity is the attacks were both during the same time of day, though in different locations (subway vs. park and Manhattan vs. Queens).

Locals, is Karina's location near the B/C line??

jmo

The C goes into East New York which isn't far at all

It doesn't appear to be that "generic" of a sketch to me!

I think someone may identify him, if he doesn't come forward himself.

Then, there's the skull hat...unless he normally does not wear one!

Well then.

Even though the two locations are far apart, they are on the same subway line. And, the two crimes happened at about the same time of day - the subway attack was 5:30pm - and it's not the time of day you "expect" to be dangerous. Attacks happened in daytime, but the perp got away.

Could be coincidences.....

I also think the difference in weight could possibly be the person giving the description. I know I am never any good at guessing an accurate weight of a person.

And I don't think the 2" difference in height is significant...close enough

Wish we did have the ethnicity. If he is not from this country, his DNA might be on file in his home country. jmo

The sketch is supposed to be of a black male.
"Boyce described him as a black male between 35 and 45 years old, about five feet, ten inches tall with a medium build and wearing dark pants, a red shirt and a dark wool hat – which Boyce said stood out because the murder happened on a warm summer day."

I wonder if he has distinctive hair.

<snip>

The man, who is not believed to be the killer, was seen coming out of the weeds at Spring Creek Park near the Belt parkway around the time Vetrano was killed on Aug. 2.

A high-ranking police source said the individual may be a key witness, but has yet to come forward.

Perhaps, LE believes he entered the park with the unknown monster. Then, went his separate way once the attack began wanting no part of it

Here are the 3 side by side: image.jpg

I think they all share similarities. The eyes match the morning side guy on the right, but their chins and face shape are very different.

The guy on the left shares the same face shape and chip but a different nose.

Notice the difference in face shape and China here though...

It was reported that man in the sketch was not a witness to the murder.

How would there have any idea if this man witnessed something or not?

Ravaged by a drug addiction, alcoholism or disease.

This is a stretch I'm sure...but if it was a disease, say like AIDS...could he blame women for getting it and be so angry this is his morbid way of feeling in control and sharing the misery?

DNA cannot tell you a specific country of origin. It doesn't work that way.

Yes, I know DNA won't tell us his country.... sigh...what I meant was : if we knew his ethnicity perhaps LE could make an extra effort to show this composite in that ethnic community, might get more traction. I was just commenting that even though he might have no DNA on file here, he could have a long record in his country of origin, assuming he was not from this country. Hope this clears it up. and jmo

May have to do with the time LE believe attack began (time of texting with her GF, video of time KV entered the park) and the time the witness (worker) saw the male in the HB sketch exit the weeds.

Wait! Could the reason the cops don't think this guy is a suspect is because he is black? Perhaps the cops know the killer doesn't have enough genetic markers to possibly be black based on DNA collected from the crime scene?

...or they don't want to spook him.
