GARDEN CITY (WABC) -- Police say a body found near a Long Island highway has been identified as that of a teacher who vanished on her way to school this week. They say her husband has been charged with her murder.
The body was found in a wooded area on the property of the North Hills Country Club on Wednesday morning.
The body was found about 50 feet from the north service road of the highway, for more than 24 hours, said Lt. Kevin Smith, a Nassau County police spokesman.

That was quick! LE knows a lot more than we do at this point.

Sadly, these cases are becomming all too common and predictable.

I agree with you 101% SuziQ! LE must really have the goods on this guy to get him so fast. And to think he was outside of his inlaws home passing out fliers.... it does tend to make the blood boil, doesn't it?

Did you listen to his radio interview? It's really creepy to listen to now that he's been arrested.

Yes I did listen to that radio interview! I thought he was putting the cart before the horse (ie, no one but HE really knew she was dead at that point....and he seemed so overemotional....and of course we know now why he was so emotional as he had killed his wife...).

It was very creepy, I completely agree. I think we all pegged him from the start. It is a complete criminal subtype isn't it??? These men who kill their wives and then try to make it look like something else happened....they need their own psychiatric diagnosis. Too bad we cannot put some sticky traps out to catch them before they kill!

Greatwhitenorth, I couldn't get your link to open for me but I found this one:

Woman's Body Found in L.I. Woods Is That of Missing Teacher

I'm going to guess that "whatever he did" that Leah hinted at was the reason he killed her. He didn't want her to tell anyone about it.

(snip)
Leah, 29 had planned to leave William, also 29, according to a friend who spoke to her Saturday night via a series of instant messages while she was in a car with her husband. She apparently had not wanted to speak in front of her husband.
"She told me the marriage is over. [She said] 'I'll tell you why when I talk to you. It's something really, really bad,' " said Lucas Bean.
"[She said] she was definitely getting a divorce, there was no way she could stay with him after what he'd done."
Bean, who attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst with Leah Walsh, said she and her husband had a huge blowout after he went to Atlantic City.
"I never found out what it was [about]," Bean said.

I just came across an article that says he's a rangy mortgage broker. What does that mean?

Rangy is a physical description. It means "having long slender limbs" which appears to apply to him based on the pictures.

It can also mean "inclined to rove" - maybe the reporter meant that he jumped from job to job as a mortgage broker?

I wonder what he did in Atlantic City???? anybody missing there?

  • #154
Probably hooked up with a hooker, lost some mortgage money, and God knows what else. No wonder he was wearing a casino jacket... probably a compulsive gambler.

Girls, it's what we & Oprah have been saying all along.... trust your hinky meter. (I call mine a hinkometer) If it doesn't feel right, it's NOT right.

This is just so sad - way too much of this happening. I wonder if LE has something regarding the cell phone pings? Makes me wonder how many unsolved cases in the past could've been solved if folks had used cell phones/computers 'way back when', KWIM?

  • #156
Maybe he lost most their savings on expensive transvestite hookers! What a stinker; i hope he get life!

  • #157
Not surprising at all, but still so sad that this is the outcome. I will be thinking about her family.

Great, another bites the dust. I agree with a PP, how about some sticky traps out there?? I think I need to write a book about women protecting themselves from their psycho husbands. UGH, this is just horrible. ANOTHER ONE!!! I am only happy to say at least LE knows it was him and got him before this got out of control!!

:mad:So they arrested the husband ... what is it with husbands? Don't they just believe in divorce anymore? Do they really think they'll get away with these crimes.
