GUILTY NY - Levon Wameling, 9 months, Utica, 29 May 2013

What I don't understand is if a parent feels compelled to hurt or kill their own child (incomprehensible to me and I have no children) why they don't give custody to someone else, particularly another family member who actually WANTS to to care for the child. I have read several cases on here where the parent has been charged with killing their child or is a POI in their child's murder. I don't get it !! Anyone have an insight into the reason for this ?

IDK but maybe it has to do with paying child support. Who knows. I'm sick over this. He looks like baby Gabrielle.

I think he probably left the child home alone and went out for hours or days and the baby had a seizure.

It was on JVM tonight and a guest said he probably sold the child for money to buy drugs.

think spiderman. why would anyone climb up or down the outside of their home like that unless they were practicing to do it to another building?

and why would someone do that to another building, except illegal reasons (from peeping tom to breaking and entering, or what have you) ?

Strange fellow. Almost like a schizophrenic with a baby.

Looks stressed as well, to me ... perhaps missing some basic needs like regular meals, restful sleep, adequate warmth, calm and attentive environment.

I mean does this father have a history of a mental illness where he would forget or misplace things or not fully understand how serious it was to misplace your child!? Any history of abuse to the child? This is horrible

Amy Warney is desperate, desperate to know what happened to her nine month old boy Levon. After addressing the media tonight, the little boy's mother pleaded with her community for any help they can provide her with.

"I have nothing. All I have is to sit there on an empty stomach, that's it," says Warney.

"Is my baby ok? Who did this to my baby? If my baby is in your house, please return him to his mother where my baby is comforted, loved, fed, pampered, bathed, slept well. I just ask everyone that if you do see Levon Wameling anywhere, dead or alive please contact the police and get him where I can put him to rest."

snipped

"I just want answers. I want to know if my baby's alive, I want to know if my baby is dead. I wanna know if he's suffering somewhere. I just wanna know answers. That's all I want is answers to where my baby is," says Warney.

I've become very sensitive about wording in statements since becoming a sleuther. I imagine the Mom is trying to prepare herself for whatever the answers, but sounds like she lost hope already of finding Levon alive.

Why is the Mom already talking about putting her missing baby to rest?

I guess she might believe some stranger took Levon from the porch and anything might have happened. Or does she think the Father did something to Levon? It is torture, not having answers. Hope Mom has lots of supportive people around her.

:praying: Praying Levon gets found, and praying for strength and hope for his Family.

I'm still not caught up here but, :thud:.

O-M-G. Police found him with 25 morphine pills not in his name and a large sum of cash and his charge was a misdemeanor? :thud:

Now I am wondering if he od'd the baby on some kind of prescription painkillers to keep him from fussing and crying. Hoped he and the kid could just numb out and chill. :stormingmad::steamed:

After reading about the arrest with dad having 25 morphine pills on him, I think the baby looks numbed out.

If I say more, I am going to get a TO, so I won't. :stormingmad:

Neighbors on Jay Street in Utica recall loud nights full of music and drinking that often ended with the cops being called.

The man who lives in the apartment below Jevon Wameling's on Jay Street says he distinctly remembers hearing 9-month-old Levon crying back on either May 28th or May 29th.

Neighbors say Jevon lives a typical night life, coming home at 2 or 3 in the morning, often under the influence of alcohol. The neighbor, who did not give his name, says there were often complaints about the loud music coming from his apartment. He says that behavior all suddenly stopped two weeks ago, which he found odd.

Neighbors says the cops were called to Jevon's apartment once a week because of screaming fights inside the apartment. The neighbor says those fights ended back on April 10th when his girlfriend moved out.

http://www.wktv.com/news/local/Neig...-baby-Levon-crying-in-late-May-211316091.html

10th April Jevon’s girlfriend (Levon’s mother?) moved out
9th May Levon’s mother went into court ordered rehab/custody
16th May Levon's aunt and her mother tried to get custody of Levon
23rd May Levon’s mother entered rehab facility
28th/29th May A neighbour heard Levon crying
29th May 11:30pm Levon last seen wearing only a diaper on front porch

I wonder what Jevon did about his nightlife in that week (or few weeks) that he was single-parenting Levon?
Did he leave Levon ‘sleeping’ at night while he snuck out and partied?
Did he take Levon with him and subject Levon to that kind of stress?
Did his place become the party venue?
Did Jevon have drug debts or expensive habits?

Somebody please explain why this baby was left in Jevon's care. Where were the siblings when Mom was in rehab? I am trying to fill in the blanks, so anybody please pipe in with info if you can.

I take it Jevon didn't have a job. Why would he take on caring for this baby if he liked the party scene so much? Again, what was he doing taking care of this 9 mo. old baby? He liked to party. Did he possibly leave Levon alone for hours?

Levon looks frightened in a couple of pics, IMO. He looks uncomfortable or sad, some are saying ill. Reports of all the screaming fights that were going on didn't help. Did he have a medical condition, as well?

I know the area. Did Jevon have a car? Barge canal, all the gorges, woods, and farmlands, it won't be easy searching.

Sad about Levon being left in this flakey guy's care, JMO, but I do also wonder why the baby doesn't look very happy or well. Mom doesn't use Levon's name much. Did she have full custody?

Sorry about the questions, but this case is upsetting right from the get go.

BBM

That's weird, the case I was a juror for, was about just being the money man for a crack seller. We convicted him. I don't know his sentence. I think it was probably around eight years.

"...a pill bottle that contained 23 morphine tablets..."

"...a large sum of money on him, was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said."

Respectfully bolded.

This struck me as well. Ever since Kiesha Weippeart's mother appeared on TV speaking in past tense about her missing daughter, I've been much more sensitive to it.

The mother here looks so young and I believe her story checks out, so I don't think she's involved. I think her lack of hope shows that she knows what her baby's father is capable of.
