Yes, I must have got confused as I was wrong about that. I think it was the way the article read that made me think that or else I have read so much in this case I am now verifiably :crazy: :floorlaugh:

Aw. :blushing: Gee thanks. I had a lot of help with it. Several people including wondergirl, svpernin, waltzingmatilda, soulmagent, chemcopout, and internetgirl, scandi -- everybody, really, including you, Reannan. We're all working together and that's the way it should be.

I still don't understand how you arrived at the conclusion that Shannan named the Dr. based on all of that. I understand that someone called her mother right after they reported her missing and said they were Dr. so and so and I get that Shannan named SOMEONE on the 911 tape but I do not believe the two were ever connected and no one has ever said who she named or that she named a Dr. That's just what I've gathered.

If you listen to the interview with Sherre she does name the Dr. Many of us heard it in fact there was a post made here with his name in it that had to be deleted.

Evidently this guy calling said the same Dr's name as Shannan had said on the 911 tape or Sherre wouldn't have said what she did, including "We know who he is.

Geraldo is on and maybe we will learn more tonight about that case. I hope he asks her that specific question about the Dr. Here's hoping ullhair:

Does anyone have a link to or know anything about the other properties owned by Shannon's client? I looked but only found one other, but I heard he owned several. I seem to recall that another poster from way back indicated there were more, unless I'm mistaken. Does anyone know?

(Besides being curious, call me paranoid but I'd like to make sure I don't rent beside one of JB's properties this summer...!!!!)

JB and his family own a number of properties in West Islip and one property in West Babylon in addition to the property in Oak Beach. These are rental properties. Plus they own a small liquor store on Higbie Lane in West Islip. I don't know what other business he is involved in.

But I think he just owns the one property in Oak Beach (8 The Fairway).

No, I know Sherre told the story about the Dr. and said his name on the radio interview. I'm just saying we have not indication that SHANNAN named the doctor in her 911 call. We have no idea who she named. I think her family does but it was never released to the public.

Hi, Scandi; what you say has some plausibility, although as I remember it, Shannan's sister talked about the doctor's call and the confrontation with him by herself and her sister as exposing a liar. (If they had heard the tape and he had been named on it, they would have been brave and perhaps unwise to confront him.)

My doubts about the doctor being the serial killer as we know him is that he does not seem to fit the image of a deeply secretive, methodical plotter. To me, he seems like an old man making a pathetic attempt to ease the minds of a worried family. But, of course, as always in these cases, intuitions often prove wrong.....

I do not think there was a boat involved in any of this.

If there is a boat involved, why in the world would the perp drag the bodies to the side of the road??? Why not hide the bodies in the reeds?? Better yet, why not just dump the bodies directly in the water, in the middle of the Great South Bay??

Then, assuming this boating is done at night (because, in the day time there is no way for any of this to happen without someone seeing, especially in the summer), the body of water nearest where the bodies were found is shallow in spots. It would be VERY difficult to navigate in a motor boat, especially at night, even if you knew the area.

And, finally, if one did use a boat, where the bodies were found is not quite as close to the water as it appears. It would be a haul from boat to road, that's for sure.

I'm going with motor vehicle...

I thought we read yesterday here that it is JB's wife who actually owns the liquot store. In fact a link was posted with her response to the public after 2 of her workers were arrested for selling liquor to a minor. In that post she said she was the owner of the store. Maybe posted by Filly.

I'd like to see proof of this.

I find it more likely that she is his sister:

- person with the same unique name (first and last) graduated from the same high school as JB
- JB's mother is of the same decent as the country that the liquor store owner's name refers to

I have worked on a lot of cases and I find this one to be the most frustrating in terms of ASSUMPTIONS that are made and posted as FACT.

Can we please follow up FACTS with links?

If someone writes "I think that..." or "Maybe..." it does not mean that IT IS. And until someone produces a link showing PROOF of such a thing, it only harms our sleuthing to state it as fact.

I can't even read through the confusion over the doctor and the phone call to SG's mother and the drifter and oh some random neighbor that everyone has been sleuthing simply because he is a doctor, poor guy can't travel the world without making it look like he's killing women in Hawaii...

Hi, Verity; thanks for these quotes. On the other hand, Shannan had called 911 herself at least once and she had refused a ride home from her own driver. To me, her frantic actions seem more typical of a drug-induced panic attack or a manic bi-polar episode.

Also, Shannan might have been aware that the arrival of the police might bring her an arrest for at least public intoxication. She had been arrested at least once before for prostitution.

I think that the venomous calls to Melissa Barthelemy's sister indicate the utter obsession of this fiend. It is odd that he singled out this one victim and, indeed, one survivor.

Even though all of the identified victims were attractive, Barthelemy had an ethereal beauty that may have led this killer to fixate on her in particular. Her sister may resemble her and, depending on what kind of phone Barthelemy had, it could have been easy for the killer to see photos of Amanda and become obsessed.

I think physical appearance is particularly important to this perpetrator.

Not sure if the murderer had that in mind. Perhaps more like "That's where you sin from" kind of thing?

Years ago I had a friend who was Schizophrenic and he made everything in his apartment face East. Religious fanaticism and all. He told me about that significance.

Christians don't pray facing East, we pray in any direction However, it is Christian tradition to be buried facing toward the east.
