I thought he used a disposable phone at first he would still need a Internet connection to go on CL. I looked at buying a phone like this it's not as easy as they say and if you want to have Internet access it's another problem.

OK, what about the long article that was posted earlier in this case, discussing a possible link to other bodies found on Long Island much earlier?

Does anyone have a link to that? I think some of the people that are a little newer to this case should definitely read it. I'm pretty sure that there were multiple women found at that dump site, who showed signs of dismemberment, not to mention the killer went out of his way to get rid of tattoos or scars that could identify the bodies.

I haven't seen anyone mention that situation in a while... I wish I had saved the article, but I'm sure someone remembers it?

What if Shannon G. ran away when the neighbor offered to call the police, because she already knew that "the police" were in on it?

Listening to the sister's interview it occurred to me that when she knocked on people's doors they would not let her inside. They may not want to admit that. She had already called the police with no help coming so she kept running.

The john called Shannon's driver (after she had been there about 3 hrs) & told him to come get her ASAP cos she was acting crazy (he was parked down the road near the entrance) so the driver went to the house & said he found Shannon on the phone talking to 911..When she saw the driver she flew out the door screaming & knocking on neighbor's doors begging for "HELP" & saying "they're trying to kill me"..The driver supposedly continued to look for her/catch her as she was running around looking for a safe place to hide while waiting for LE..One neighbor actually spoke to him & he said she had been at a "party" & got upset then he took off..All that saw her described her as "delirious" & "out of it"..The next day supposedly the driver & her b/f came back to continue to search for her with no luck.

Thanks and she's not been found yet? Odd and curious... If she was already on the phone to 911 when the driver entered, she must have already had the fear someone was going to kill her. (Real or imagined) puzzling.

I'm pretty sure some disposable phones have internet.

But - he wouldn't have needed internet. He could have visited craigslist from any number of places, and just called the girls directly from the disposable phone.

A john using craigslist doesn't have to contact them through craigslist at all. They usually leave a phone number on their ad, so that the john can call them directly, which is what I'm sure he did.

I'm not sure what significance the truck really has unless the SK was searching out spots to later dump the body (s)..Surely he wasn't in the 'act' in broad daylight..Btw! Do we know where that spot is & if any victims were found there?

amysmom, last night a fellow sleuth posted that her sister had called her and asked if she should call in a tip as she had seen a white truck parked on the side of the road with only parking lights while she was on her way home from work at 11:20 pm. I can't recall the name of the road but it wasn't OP. It was near 4 piers, IIRC. A white truck has been captured in map photos from 2 different mapping sites parked on the side of OP.

Anyway our fellow sleuth's sister called in the tip. I think this was at the end of thread 3/ beginning of thread 4.

in this video, they state she made the 20+ minute 911 call at the neighbors house before running off. I hadn't heard this version before, wondering if this was just bad reporting or clarification?

It's always been reported that Shannon was on the phone with 911 for over 20 mins..What's not too clear is if it was 1 call or more.

eta..the family confirms the length of time she was talking with 911..They either heard the call themselves or were told this by LE.

Right, but in this timeline they state she was inside the neighbors house for the entire 20+ minute call - then took off.

This is a different story from what I've ever heard.

Also, the official who makes a statement is clear they believe this could be a group of people responsible for all the murders.

A group making /snuff films or something?

amysmom, last night a fellow sleuth posted that her sister had called her and asked if she should call in a tip as she had seen a white truck parked on the side of the road with only parking lights while she was on her way home from work at 11:20 pm. I can't recall the name of the road but it wasn't OP. It was near 4 piers, IIRC. A white truck has been captured in map photos from 2 different mapping sites parked on the side of OP.

If you haven't read it, I highly suggest it. It is about many more other bodies found on a different part of Long Island, but they do have some similarities to this case IMO.

This has been my line of thinking also, I also wondered if there was a connection between the Dr. and the client Shannon was visiting the evening she disappeared. I also wonder how the client/john knew what number he needed to call the driver.

I honestly don't know amysmom. I think some were trying to make connections since Shannan's sister? IIRC had stated that Shannan was pulled into a 'truck' and the phone went dead. I have no idea how her sis would know this unless Shannan said so in her frantic 911 call. i sure wish we could hear that call!

Several of the women who are murdered or missing have connections to either Penn Station in Manhattan or the transportation center in Camden NJ. I wonder if he follows them back into town, then accosts them there, where it's crowded and nobody will notice.

I forget..did the john tell the driver she was talking to 911 when he called him to come get her? I know the driver said he found her doing that when he arrived at the house.

It's so hard to believe ONE person would be sick/evil enough to be a SK so a group of SKs working together? Almost impossible but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen.

Regarding the disposable phones, my daughter buys them all the time at Walmart with internet connections. They can be bought totally annonymously. The company is called Net 10. She has bought more than one because the phones, which are basically free with buying minutes, are very flimsy. You can also have a hot mail acct. with them, although you would have to have a screen name.

Okay, so the girls placed the ads, for example; would the killer would have had to click on each one to read all of the details? Or is the whole ad shown on the screen without having to click onto it?
Not that it matters if they don't have a computer to check against the ads...or if he used one that they will never be able to track back to him...

Not sure that electronics will be of much help, if all the phones he used were disposables and they can't check his computers since they don't know who he is...unless one or more of the girls emailed him at some point and there is evidence of at least two of them contacting the same person.

Yes that was my sister...She drives a red Dodge Ram 1500. The one she saw was the same but it was white, without the cap. It was on Bay Parkway which is at Field 10 at Jones Beach. There are 4 fishing piers and a building where county workers parked their construction trucks . LE also uses the building.

Bay Parkway is very secluded. It runs east to west about about 2 miles. It is just north of Ocean Parkway by the tower between wantagh pkway and the meadowbrook pkway.

She said she had tried several times but the line was busy, then when she got through the person taking the info was confused as to why SHE WAS EVEN CALLING.

Also along the same line of thought here, maybe she ran from the driver because she suspected "They" would kill both her and the driver???

If they were filming her having sex with guys, and someone started choking her and she fought back and said she had a driver waiting for her..... (maybe they didn't know that) so they called the driver to get him to the house as well. That way they could dispose of both of them??
