Authorities mentioned that they are currently probing any differences on how the murder was performed, body disposal or burial, and even DNA evidence. FBI agents and state police are jumping in the investigation; along with profiling experts and behavior science investigators.
After rigorous DNA testing, the persons behind the identified bodies seem to be from very different backgrounds. The first body found is of a prostitute who was advertised on Craiglist. One other body that was found in almost the same area also belongs to a sex worker who reportedly advertised on Craiglist too.
The succeeding corpses did not have anything to do with the two sex workers. One was a toddler, others were a mix of teens and adults of different sexes.

Is this referring to the second group of four bodies found recently (before yesterday's finds)? It seems to be talking about more than four bodies though. And it is also hard to know how they could have already determined that the rest of the bodies had nothing to do with the sex workers. I am very curious to hear more about what the genders and possible IDs of these bodies are, but don't know how soon we'll get clear info. I did think that one of the links yesterday said something about them ID'ing two of the bodies, but can't remember now where I read that. I am really hoping that IDs of the victims will lead to a significant clue for the police.

OK, what about the long article that was posted earlier in this case, discussing a possible link to other bodies found on Long Island much earlier?

Does anyone have a link to that? I think some of the people that are a little newer to this case should definitely read it. I'm pretty sure that there were multiple women found at that dump site, who showed signs of dismemberment, not to mention the killer went out of his way to get rid of tattoos or scars that could identify the bodies.

I haven't seen anyone mention that situation in a while... I wish I had saved the article, but I'm sure someone remembers it?

Probably. Frighteningly, just about all serial killers have some kind of military connection. Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy are the only exceptions I can think of right now, and they both had a lot of political and community involvement.

If you haven't read it, I highly suggest it. It is about many more other bodies found on a different part of Long Island, but they do have some similarities to this case IMO.

Yes that was my sister...She drives a red Dodge Ram 1500. The one she saw was the same but it was white, without the cap. It was on Bay Parkway which is at Field 10 at Jones Beach. There are 4 fishing piers and a building where county workers parked their construction trucks . LE also uses the building.

Bay Parkway is very secluded. It runs east to west about about 2 miles. It is just north of Ocean Parkway by the tower between wantagh pkway and the meadowbrook pkway.

She said she had tried several times but the line was busy, then when she got through the person taking the info was confused as to why SHE WAS EVEN CALLING.

I am not up on the latest comp. technology but..... even though he didnt email the call girls isnt there still a computer "footprint" left by clicking onto each indivdual ad on craigslist. Wondering that each click into the ad stores the ip address anyway? just a thought

I've really been sitting here wondering how any of this is even possible. I mean there are just all of these dead bodies littering the streets of Long Island? And they don't even know if any are really even connected?

It just really seems strange. As if there was some memo passed out between Serial Killers, letting them know to all dump their victims on Long Island.

I know that sounds gross, but it just seems unreal to me.

I honestly don't know amysmom. I think some were trying to make connections since Shannan's sister? IIRC had stated that Shannan was pulled into a 'truck' and the phone went dead. I have no idea how her sis would know this unless Shannan said so in her frantic 911 call. i sure wish we could hear that call!

After reading the Long Island Press article, which is VERY interesting, I wonder if that DailyNewsFix blurb wasn't just a mixed up version of that story--there are a wide variety of unsolved murder cases on LI from the last two decades. The Long Island Press article is interesting because it is the first one I've seen to put all this info together in one place--what we have thus far, except for the most recent discoveries. I had read about the Manorville murders and some of the other unsolved cases on LI before, but now with the most recent discoveries (especially those also in plastic bags), I'm wondering if any of the body parts could go with some of these older bodies? I do hope that all the forensic evidence was preserved correctly and that all the various police forces will combine their info well to make sure that they can solve as many of these as possible.

Here is another thing, I highly doubt anyone "Frantic" and "Irrational" would be calmly sitting down while on the phone to 911 to report that someone was trying to kill her.

She'd be running around pounding on doors asking for help - yes, sitting politely at the John's house - NO. Unless she was being made to sit there.....and when the driver came it gave her the opportunity to jump up and get out that door.

I was stunned to see a victim was found in "Bellmore"..I have a friend who lives there & I went there about 10 yrs ago..It was my first & now last trip to LI!!

On June 27, 2008, another dismembered woman was found stuffed in a suitcase near Newbridge Road in Bellmore off the Southern State Parkway. The woman was identified as Tanya Rush, a 39-year-old mother of three from Brooklyn, because her fingerprints were on file from a previous arrest, and because her hands were with her body.

We are both Nassau County 911 operators. She is calling Homicide from work today.

She said the truck she saw gave her the creeps the way it was parked. The truck had no head lights on, only orange parking lights. It was a misty cold rain that night and her wipers could not be on constantly. As she went around the bend of the road she saw the orange tail lights. She saw no one inside the truck.

Exactly! It makes no sense..Also, why would the john allow her to not only call 911 but for so long in his home? Even if he had nothing to hide I'm sure he wasn't pleased about it..I'm surprised he didn't grab her phone away from her. :waitasec:

Also along the same line of thought here, maybe she ran from the driver because she suspected "They" would kill both her and the driver???

If they were filming her having sex with guys, and someone started choking her and she fought back and said she had a driver waiting for her..... (maybe they didn't know that) so they called the driver to get him to the house as well. That way they could dispose of both of them??

They don't even have to be filming, maybe it was plain sexual gratification. I started thinking more this way after the reports claimed the drifter was at the home and had been with Shannon also.

Only thing is we have no body here, only strong speculation.
