I bet LE is really freaking out right now, since it is not poor Melissa. They had a press conference in December saying finding more bodies is unlikely.

So who is this poor girl?? Could it be, as someone posted here few days ago, could it be Elena Jazmir Lozada who has been missing since July 6, 2010??

OMG this is scary. My daughter takes that parkway back and forth to work, even though I told her not to. She said there is more traffic on Ocean Parkway now because the restaurants are getting ready to open up and
concerts are going to start around Memorial Day at Jones Beach Theater.

Good point RIGHTEOUS1! The only light would be the reflection of the mile markers from his headlights. I wish we knew for sure if the bodies were found at the mile markers.

I am also intrigued by the cut throughs across the median above and below where the bodies were dumped. I initially thought the bodies were dumped while someone was along a delivery route, but after seeing the maps, I now think the bodies were dumped there because the killer needed to turn back in the direction from whence he came.

I am thinking of adding a police officer to my list of potential suspects because a PO would patrol a stretch of road which is familiar and would know the turnoffs, the mile markers, and the good places for disposal. A PO would also not alert any suspicion if a passerby saw them dragging something that resembled a dead deer from the roadside. I think the burlap was used for camoflage during disposal.

My friend, who lives in Gilgo (and can see the search area from her living room HOW EXCITING?!?! says that it is uncommon to see many police patrolling the are and much more common to see trucks, cars, and motorcycles using the turnaround.

I've asked her to look into the mile markers and their frequency for us. :innocent:

That's the thing, there's no light still manages to go to the same spot give or take a few Hundred feet even if it's a half mile that's no coincidence, assuming He's been coming back each time. Maybe it's nothing but if a year passes and the guy goes back to that same area each time, why not 5 miles down or a different location all together.

this is what i've been questioning as well. it would be smarter to choose various locations that are more isolated and less likely the victims would be found.

it's either the killer has extreme OCD and has to line up the bodies in a row in specific spots... (similiarities in the sense of "lined up in a row" to atlantic city)

he doesn't know of or have access for whatever means to other dump spots so he keeps using the same one...

a lot of serial killers have went out of their way to dispose of their victims and cover their tracks. some have left their victims exactly where they killed them.

while we don't know where the girls were killed, we know the killer prefers to dump the victims spaced apart 1/4 mile each in the same area.

is this out of the preference of the killer to the dump spot or something else?
such as the killer not being able to access other dumping areas for whatever reason?

reasons such as transportation, physical limitation, limited knowledge, ocd, the killer seems to like to follow his routine of dumping his victims in rows. it's odd in the sense that the dump site is not the smartest dump site for a victim. obviously they will be found, and if shannon hadn't went missing it's likely these poor girls would have been missed for awhile.

I was just on google map to see if there are mile markers..lol. I take the train to work and haven't used Ocean Parkway for almost a year now and its driving me crazy. So thanx to you and your friend.

I know driving there at night esp when I got off at work at 11pm you can see cars coming from miles away in either direction so this SK could see if someone was coming and knew he had time to dispose a body without getting caught. (well thats my opinion) but if the road curves in either direction he wouldn't have much time, so can you ask your friend, does the road in either direction curve or is it a straight road and can you drive over the median there. I know some parts the median there is very deep and a car probably couldn't drive across.

Yes that is right. Its pretty wide in some areas esp to cross over. After Gilgo Beach there is Tobay Beach where you can park your car and use the under ground walk thru to cross over to the ocean.

Shutterfly has also captured an image on a screen shot of a truck or van parked at or near the location on the side of the road, That van looked like a truck or van parked in a driveway on the fairway (I believe it was fairway). The information was on the first thread but since the photo has been removed. I had thought I saved the Image but if I did I named it something dumb and cant find it. It was taken from bing maps while she was searching over the area.

I am not sure who followed the first thread so if anyone hasnt seen it , has the chance to reveiw that information as well.
I will keep looking for tht photo and See if Shutterfly will repost if she still has it as the maps on bing update every 90 days I heard (I have heard 2 years as well )

in the instance jb is the sk, or anyone else local to that area it would seem very stupid to put shannon's body nearby.
there have been several cases of sk's who have hoarded their victims bodies in their houses and yards, so i guess one never knows...

i agree with you that due to the scene shannon caused that night, her body would likely be well hidden one would think.

some questions i have are who was shannon's driver? is he the same man that the neighbor talked to who was asian driving an suv looking for shannon that same night, after she ran into the weeds? he told the neighbor she had left a party and was upset.
at the same time we have reports shannon called 911 from jb's residence and was afraid to leave his house... so it seems the media has made a confusing mess.

the road where the victims were dumped seems to go right to fire island. fire island has some year round residents, while during the warm months it attracts a ton of tourists.
what about the possibility of someone who's frequented to fire island and thus knows the route there?
there is also oak beach, and then ocean beach and a ton of other areas that would attract tourists during the summer months.

someone who has yearly went to any of those beach there would likely know the route.
imo, le needs to search all that roadway to the end of fire island and back.

shannon's life was for nothing. if you figure that everything happens for a reason; if shannon had never went missing, that officer & his k9 wouldn't have picked that area to take a walk and look.
they would have never found these 5 girls anytime soon.

since shannon went missing, 5 victims have been found, and a serial killer had been discovered (yet not caught).

lord knows how long it would have took le to find the victims bodies otherwise.

because of shannon, those families can get their loved one's back.

the killer has a lot of victims. in a way, maybe shannon will be the last to be found, until the others have been discovered.

i've always thought that elena jazmir lozada fit the killer's profile for a victim, and she is still missing.

if one goes through the doenetwork, you will find a lot of unidentified remains (many many unsolved homicides). it's sad that these victims jane and john does can't get closure.

with shannon as a leading guardian angel of a sort, all these other girls are being found by le and their families are finally getting closure.
