The two big things that make me think the john isn't the murderer: she called 911 from his house, from his phone, and apparently with his knowledge, and she didn't want to leave. She only ran after the driver came to get her, when it was clear she was going to be forcibly removed.

Somebody asked upthread about how we know she was on drugs. The driver and the neighbor who answered the door she was pounding on both said she was high. Her poster says she's bipolar and into drugs, so flipping out into total paranoia is a definite possibility.

A def possibility but it would have to be a GIGANTIC coincidence that all these murder victims were found so close by..I suppose it can't be ruled out she 'imagined' danger but what are the odds?

If she was a victim of this SK it kinda makes sense to me that he'd bury her in a very diff area so she & he wouldn't be tied to the others IF found..That would point more towards he lives in the near vicinity maybe even in the gated community even tho I doubt the SK expected this 'hooker' would be looked for by LE in the way she has been=finding his burial ground.

Noooo! Just the "paraphernalia" for pot & possibly crack..There are many stores in NH that sell cigs, liquor, & that..I don't live in NH but drive UP there often to buy cigs cos they don't have 'sales tax'..Here it's outrageous!

I agree it really makes me doubt the John (JB) is the killer. Articles I've read state the "driver" waited outside the gated community for three hours.

If he was, in fact, waiting inside a vehicle outside of the community gates, did she enter the community on foot? did she walk to the johns home from the gate? Could she have seen something while walking? OR could she have set out to walk from the John's home after their "Party" and seen something then and ran back to the Johns house, where she then called 911 and refused to leave.

When the driver then entered the gated community to try to get her to leave - either she was terrified of the driver (?) OR she didn't think he could keep her safe?

This is the best explanation I've heard. Maybe the JB didn't want the driver parked near his house or have SG picked up near his house to be discreet - so she was to walk back to the car and saw something on the way. If JB was in the habit of hiring escorts on certain days of the week, maybe the SK knew it and was waiting for her to leave.

this case is just a mind blower...

I don't imagine that she ran into the arms of a kiler who just happens to find all his victims on craigslist...

maybe there is a group of guys out there who bring girls out and pass them along to their buddies...maybe she has another trick out there and he came to get her...

This is OT but seeing the comments section of that article makes me very thankful for WS. Everyone here is respectful, insightful, and empathetic, it helps to restore my faith in humanity. I recently made the mistake of perusing the comment section of a Yahoo news article on this case and the ignorance made me sick. Keep up the good work, everyone.

Not that hard if there are milestone markers. The city would do it for you.

I looked on both the west and east bound lanes of Ocean Parkway (via the little Google map man) from just west of where bodies have been found and as far east to the residential area where JB was living and there doesn’t seem to be any mile markers at all……..at least on that stretch of the highway. The only signs I saw were “emergency stopping only” type signs. Whoever disposed of the bodies must have been utilizing GPS in order to place at least the first 4 bodies equal distance from each other.

I don't know if there are any signs in the easterly direction to tell you that you are in Oak Beach. If there are a 100 homes that can use Oak Beach on their return address that would be a lot, IMO.

As I mentioned above, there doesn’t appear to be any signs (east bound) indicating Oak Beach or the residential community. I did notice there is a sign on the west bound side that indicates the turn around for Oak Beach though.

But if you look at it the other way -- the serial killer has already chosen that area for his dumping area. Now those 80 or whatever houses ARE next to it, however improbable that might have been in the first place. I mean, really, what are the odds of having even one body dumped near your place, even on a deserted road? But there they are, and any activity at any of the houses might have led to stumbling onto the body.

But I don't think she stumbed onto the bodies. I think she probably ran, fell in the water or into a swamp, and either drowned or died of exposure. Or if she did get away, maybe she was able to get back to the city but is too afraid to come out now. She might be living anywhere under a second identity. We know she has a job skill that can find employment in most places.

When I read that quote at the end of the NYTimes article, I thought that if it does seem like none of the murders are recent (at least at this location) it is possible that the publicity surrounding Shannan Gilbert's disappearance (and her family's quest to find her), whether the serial killer was involved with her or not, could have led to him stopping his crime spree for fear of discovery. Of course the worry is that he would have just moved elsewhere, but it is also possible that all the police activity could have really stopped things for a time. They better find him, because I'm sure he wouldn't stop forever.

From the Photo Bucket Web site it says John called the Driver Shannon didn't want to leave, it seems she was bugging out about the Driver or someone else. It is very strange but why would John call the Driver if he meant her Harm, John had the Drivers Phone number, how? Shannon gave it to him? It was her driver or his?

Did a drug make her like that? I don't believe in Coincidences!

Upon searching for information ,local happening rumors etc.. I found the thread to Mandy jenkins murder. I noticed arrest where made in that case in november and it made me wonder if the investigation by LE in that case which would have intersected SG case as MJ went missing in aug 10 but was found oct 2010.

Mandy Jenkins also made a phone call about being aware of being in danger and refered to Bayshore. Mandy's boyfriend and two of his friends have been arrested in that case, I dont think it is related but when reading over her case and seeing the local rumors it has me thinking that Mandy's investigation might have lead to tips about a SK as we know dec is when they found the bodies. The suspects in Mandy case has ties to a DA's office some how according to rumor.

Of course they are looking for Shannon as well but those searches should have taken place in May or June or July and definitely by the time Mandy went missing or maybe very probably the same week Mandy went missing. IMO.

I wish we knew where each victim was at the time they dissapeared...they aren't native to the area... so either there is john out there that they all have in common ...or there is a place there or near that they all have in common...

did they all pass through that gatehouse? does the S guard know when a hooker comes through? did Joe know any of the other girls? Maybe it's a gang of middle aged hooker getters...maybe call girls are common...maybe someone doesn't want them in his gated community?
