Forgive me if I'm repeating anything already said.....

From my trained eye (working with exotic dancers all over the US) this Jane Doe could be a mix of Scotch-Irish ancestry and possibly Greek, Italian or Czech. She has the wide lower jaw of most Scotch Irish descended women. But the whole frame of her face would be typical of a woman of full Greek origin. Her petite build would fit in with any of these racial groups.

Keep in mind New York & the Northeast US is a racial mixing pot & in this Jane Doe's era inter-cultural marriages were common enough. She might have been the latch-key kid of a average family who ran off & no one cared enough to look around for her.

Also, if she was an unwanted foster kid on the East Coast honestly bumming around & streetwalking might have afforded her a better life than trying to make it in the city all alone. Better social connections, free drugs & a chance to travel until she found a place she liked enough to make a go of life there.

Just my thoughts. Her kind of transient woman was not uncommon where I grew up (1980s California.) She just seems like someone who was working through some hard luck OR trying to extricate herself from a lifestyle that wasn't going anywhere. It might have been a boyfriend that killed her.

Or he used to work there. I think he was sending a message to the scrap yard owners which makes me remember a mechanic that used to work for us at my dads gas station. He had threatened to kill my dad at one time. He ended up marrying a gal, living with her & her mom in Plainfield NJ. Not sure what set him off, but he ended up killing his MIL, then cutting her hands off. I could see him doing something like this to send a message to my dad that he was next.

Totally. Someone having a violent manic episode would pose a corpse & then wander off, especially under the cover of night. During mental episodes small nonsensical things can be meaningful, deep, important. I could see a lapsed Catholic posing a woman like that as a sick joke.

Mount Vernon - NY Jane Doe - Found Deceased Feb. 14, 1988 - shared their photo.December 20, 2016 ·

February will be here soon, and it will be 29 years since I was strangled and dumped like trash on Carleton Avenue. I am still without my name, and my killer has not been caught. Please share my picture and my story. I deserve justice! My parents deserve to know what became of their daughter! Imagine not knowing where your child was for nearly 30 years. Your heart would be broken. Please help me.

I agree, a BF or someone that liked her killed her. I'm not seeing Irish, I've only dated one Greek guy. MVJD almost has a unibrow. This is what Jess has said about Mt Vernon, we really need her isotopes done to see if she's from another country like we think

I agree about the Brazilian aspect. As for French, I have never met a French person in Mount Vernon. Our white population is pretty small and mostly made up of Italians and Portuguese, some Irish and Germans.

I don't have any images of her teeth, but the description of her teeth was specific enough that I decided to try to do a smiling recon to replace her blank stare in my previous recons:

This is not an exact representation of what her teeth look like, but it should be close enough to give an idea of her overlapping canines looked like.

Hi Alleykins, I don't think Melissa Moreland was ever submitted. I believe I had her confused with another MP named Melissa, who was automatically ruled out as MVJD due to scars from burns on her legs that our Jane Doe doesn't have. I'll submit her to Det. DiMase!

She is older than the age estimated for Mount Vernon Doe. I think she looks similar though. IMOO.

Shapiro was 27 when she went missing in 1974, that would make her 41 in 1988.
MVJD was in her late teens - early 20s, so based on that big discrepancy I don't think it could be her.

Doe Network lists the UID as upwards to thirty years old. The age is a big discrepancy, I agree.

Heard the same thing yesterday from a not necessarily reliable source, but no details other than it's a big lead. Knock on wood that we get news soon.
