Did anybody submit Amma Konadu?

The UID still isn't in Namus.

  • #23
I didn't, because I just don't think there was enough information indicating that it might be her.

  • #24
Yeah, there's not a lot to go on, and not much in the way of identifiers to work with. Hopefully the new fingerprint system will turn up a match.

Oh wow thank you, so I guess she was identified?

We can ask the mods to move her to identified. Thank you

what happened to this poor girl!

Amma's case profile is still live, so this is probably not her.

I'm happy that she has been identified after 21 years. I couldn't find any news as to whether or not they've even developed an idea of who might have killed her, though.

Has it been confirmed that she was murdered?

I'm so glad some old NY cases of deceased black women and men are being solved - there are SO MANY if you look back in the last few pages of Websleuths back to cases last commented on in 2019.

How do I look back?

If she’s a homicide victim why is her identity being withheld don’t they need to find out who killed her.

If you go to the main Unidentified forum there are currently 229 pages of unidentified deceased.

At the bottom of the first page you’ll see there is a box with a list of pages. If you click on the box with 3 dots in it, you can choose a random page number - try Page 216 for example, and you’ll see what I mean. I often lurk in those back pages, but for many NY cases I don’t see any good possible matches out there and many have no ruleouts in Namus.

Do we know if her homicide was solved or not though.

Hey, guys, what do you think about this? Do you think they could be connected? My biggest gripe is that this seems to be a family-related thing and the other girl is probably not related to this girl at all. Maybe the other young woman was a victim of Arohn Kee (Snuffamonbobball mentioned him)?
In 1991, Arohn Kee began a reign of terror as a serial murderer and rapist who preyed on teenage girls from various Harlem housing projects. With a disturbed inclination for forced sodomy, Kee committed heinous crimes against several victims, ultimately raping and murdering three young girls over eight years. During his trial, Kee claimed he was the victim of a conspiracy involving DNA swapping. Despite his attempts, the overwhelming DNA evidence and the compelling testimonies of surviving victims led to his conviction. Kee was sentenced in 2001 to three life sentences for the murders and 400 years behind bars for the rapes. Even from behind bars, Kee continued to spread terror by creating "rape cards" documenting his crimes and containing sickening handwritten accounts of the things he said to his victims. The disturbing note snippets included commands like "Say, 'I love it,'" "Be quiet and take it like a woman," and "Act like you love me.
