So folks, it just so happens I got a new fridge yesterday. A relative of mine brought his van over, loaded my old fridge and went off to the scrap yard.

He just told me this over the phone, so I want to be sure it is exactly what he says it is, I will check it out and verify with him tonight.

But he just told me....that the scrap yard (although not Arrow), did in fact ask for his driver's license, weighed the fridge, and handed him a date stamped, and get this, A TIME STAMPED receipt. This time stamped showed the exact time he ENTERED and LEFT the scrap yard!!

It also showed the weight of the scrap (Less the weight of his van, I believe you drive your vehicle right on the scale). So he got $33 for this fridge, some extra gas money for the week. I am trying to get the receipt and post a pic of it here (if allowed to).

Not sure where anyone is from...i live in Dix Hills.
Approx one mile away from Arrow.
My husband has been there. He cannot recall the logistics BUT a FB poster did state that she is a regular there and they only require ID the first time you scrap. They scan your ID into their computer.

As a side note and maybe OT...Arrow hold a unique US patent for a method of disposing of computer hardware, chips, memory cards and so on.

I've been mentioning that since day one, about electronics. Sigh.

Momoffour-- thats a thought--- In NY aren't there alot of environmental laws regarding recycling and scrap?? In NYC we recycle card board tubes, not so in alot of other places-- Could have to do with properly disposing of items

Yes, but IM has stated RM was not tech savvy.
Why would he scrap or have tech parts?

Yes. Sanitation is very strict about recycling out here.
They warn and give citations regularly.

you just me reminded Force Ten---with RM possibly being "disoriented"--- did we ever get any info regarding medication, mental health issue?? All that was said initially was that he gets headaches.

From the FAQ on the page

"Was he depressed or have any medical issues?"

"Occasional bad headaches, only took Advil for them, everything was going good in life, about to take a trip to Italy on July 7, loved his family, friends, his job, his home and yard".

I hope that doesn't sound to 'vague'.

Force Ten-- not vague at all--asked and answered!! IIRC IM made it sound that he was a frequent sufferer

With those kind of headaches he should have gotten an MRI. Could be tumor. If gotten early might be able to use gamma knife...

I wonder if a chiropractor could help with it?????

Heading out everyone-- have a great night and stay safe!!!!!

IMO lets be honest, how many men do you know race to the dr when they get seriously ill let alone for what he may perceive as a "simple, stupid" headache? Most men I know, its like pulling teeth! Its more "manly" to suck it up and just deal. IM stated he would take advil at the most which leads me to believe that he didnt even do that much most of the time. Add that with his bike riding, his obvious care to personal appearance, recycling, etc. I would surmise that he lived a fairly healthy lifestyle....does that mean he couldnt get a tumor? Most certainly not! If he did have one, IMHO he probably would be unaware of it until it drastically changed his lifestyle or became obvious to others like his wife. (Ie. Losing his memory, disabling pain, or change in job performance , becoming lost and confused..etc)

I hope this is not the case! But IMHO a more likely scenario than anything I have heard thus far.

I have taken tons of scrap metal to a recycling center for my work. They check my ID then give me a hand written receipt that looks like an invoice.

So sorry to hear about your dad! Sadly this seems to be the "norm" rather than the "exception". Even healthy men that jog on a regular basis, drop all the time out of the clear blue sky...so it seems. Yes, it is possible that there is some big conspiracy, by Arrow, LE, or IM ... however, the LE has stated at this point there is no evidence of criminal activity....that must mean, at least at this point in time all the things that people find "odd" have been looked at in part and as a whole by LE and unless other evidence manifests, it is highly unlikely. As for suggestion that IM has something to hide or had something to do with it...IMHO , would she not then try to deflect suspicion that there was criminal activity by suuggesting he ran off with another woman etc etc? Rather than insist that RM is incapable of returning home on his own? Thus suggesting something has either criminally happened to him or he has been hurt which would actually increase efforts to find him?? As for Arrow, if they were guilty of foul play, does anyone honestly think they would draw attention to themselves by admitting. They were the last to see RM after weeks of LE not knowing this info? Dont you think it was more likely they did even realize they were connected to RM's last day and when they did, they came forth with the info? IMHO there are no more facts to this case to be seen at this time, and sometimes overanalyzing every detail makes one overlook the more obvious. No two people react to trauma the same way. So unless we have a mind reading expert, even if we have been through similar circumstances, we cannot possibly know what IM or the family is thinking. Maybe, just. Maybe, we have become cynical because of society and the times we live in and there just isnt any more info to give, and the whole M family is scared, worried, tired and drained and just dont have any more pertinant information to give?? Just a thought... and no, I am not trying to offend anyone, and no, I dont have any ties to the M family...just an outsider like everyone else. Although I have been in a fairly similar circumstance, and I know it would have killed me inside to think on top of everything else, people were more concerned with pointing fingers, than finding a loved one.... questions are good, I would never say otherwise as I have a very inquisitive mind myself. However, IMHO there is a time to say enough...hopefully before I have beat that poor dead horse...

I had wondered about that too, to be honest, and it's something to bear in mind. However, if IM did not notice (or did not mention noticing) anything strange about his demeanor prior to his disappearance, did not notice an increase in frequency and duration of headaches, I lean toward it probably being just the occasional, regular old headache (dehydration, tension/stress, etc) for which one takes an Advil. :)

And this could very well be the case. However, having had an aneurysm myself, I cannot completely eliminate the possibility, in my case the pain came on sudden and without notice...luckily it was small enough and in a moderatedly safer area so I am fine now, but what if it had been even a centimeter bigger or an inch over?

I am not discounting anyone elses thoughts, just sharing my own view after reading all 3 threads and looking at the video and faqs page.

I worry that there is a fine line between being inquisitive and accusatory...

I dont believe anyone here is accusing anyone of anything.
We have very few facts and all supplied by IM. the rest is speculation and imagination...all with the right intention of helping to find a missing husband, father and son.

Maybe, just maybe...one of us has already, unknowingly, stumbled upon the actual scenario. We dont know. We just hope for a safe return or quick answers for the family.

Oh, absolutely! And, whew--I am glad you're okay! :toast:

(I always try to assume the best intent as it can be so hard to tell in type what the tone is.)

it is "rumored" that arrow only takes your ID the first time you go there, after that, ur on file.
I once worked for a business who would buy/sell used items. and for legal reasons we had to record DL. we too would take info on first visit and enter it all into the computer, every visit after that you would really just need to provide name... BUT, on EVERY receipt printed for these transactions the customers name and DL# were printed, and we were required to have them sign The receipt stating that they agreed to the amount. the business kept that receipt.

so I think if the rumor is true that arrow records this info in the computer and doesn't require ID after first visit, then it's very possible that they have the same/similar process. they COULD have an actual time stamped receipt with RMs signature.

(also, our business did not record each item brought in... receipts would just say number of items and total amount offered/paid)

I agree that is most likely the case. Although I initially found this place suspicious, in my mind logic ruled it out. Most likely this is what "refreshed" their memory of RM being there that day. What I dont understand is how the exact amount of money is important? As we have been told it was minimal, it obviously wasnt enough to be a factor... of course the word "minimal" is subjective and not objective.....however, I still dont understand the drive to know the exact amount...
