Do you think it's possible the story changes to get more attention when it starts to fall off?

Right, but the thing with the changing information is, the TRUTH doesn't change. From what I am reading, the TRUTH changes quite often in the life and times of Missing Robert Mayer.
Now I can understand, to a point, adding additional information, but what I have a difficulty in understanding, is why the past continues to change in information. That information should always be the same, and if it does change, then there are specific reasons for that, a discovery perhaps. But when the items in the garage are described as being found all together and that info changes, I wonder why.How can the times/dates of the discovery of these items change? What is the motivation for the constant changing of the past? Is it because the Truth does not change, and it's difficult to remember a made up story, so little "facts" here and there change through time?
I understand not wanting the "story" to fade into obscurity, but changing the "facts" to the case just makes things seem odd to me, like the REAL information is being with held. Again, I feel played, toyed with, manipulated, and I know I don't just speak for myself.
Honesty and keeping facts as facts should be a priority if someone wants the help of others to locate their missing loved one....

The I nervousness I attribute to him going to do something very drastic..

And again---we have it from one source how he behaved the days before and how he looked in the security video.

And regarding the phone?? Its a work phone---he should have it on a charger and be checking it constantly for work related calls. IMO--perhaps Im made an inaccurate statement. Did she mean to imply that both wallet and work phone were tucked away in drawers in the garage for the weekend?????

Seems that way but, how do you time the release of an article to coincide with waning interest on WS? If they want more attention, they should have never shut down FB. Admittedly, it was a zoo. But, people were talking about Rob. Word was spreading. The vine has been severed. Is anyone publicly talking about Rob besides us?

I think with an article being released, there is Control of that interview.

In a forum or a facebook, questions can be asked that are uncomfortable, so the control factor to eliminate that, would be to shut it down.

Let me add that we have been fed a load of "all was normal" before he disappeared - until YESTERDAY.

IM should check to see if RM's electrician's licenses and other paper work (social security card, birth cerificate, etc.) is still in the house.

Maybe I just answered my own question when in the other post I mentioned about honesty and keeping facts as facts should be a priority if someone wants the help of others to locate their missing love one.
Maybe that's it!! It is ONLY to keep ROBERT MAYER in the NEWS, so that HE HIMSELF sees it and comes home. Soliciting the help of others, naw I don't think so anymore....... She could have released More and Better information previously.
We keep talking about him here on websleuths, but I think IM wants him in the NEWS, so that he would come home on his own. That's the REAL ANSWER to me.......not the changing "facts". The public I don't think is a big part of the scheme of things other than let's keep him in the news so maybe then he will come home.
I definitely feel played.

here is my thought. IF RM did look nervous and worried in the video and LE saw that. Why would they say no foul play? Can they think he looks worried and nervous due to the fact he is leaving and doesn't want to get caught? I can't quote but pretty sure when foreman from arrow was interviewed he said Mr. Mayer was in good manner. That is a big chnge from very nervous and worried!

OT. Nurses don't have to retake the tests. Some states are "compact," or "friendly," so you show license from another state, and provide fingerprints, get license for that state and go to work. Some that are not compact, you apply, show license, and provide fingerprints. Some are "walk-thru" states. Go to the state capital to Board of Nurses, show license and provide fingerprints and receive a temp incense to practice in that state while they do their thing in the background.

If he moves elsewhere he can still work use union card and collect benefits right?

I'd say Yes Eileen--provided his dues are up to date. There is no reason to think RM hasn't taken an out-of-state work ticket and is working.

I agree. If my husband is missing and there are 10 facts and I release one every month, it's not super effective in getting him home.

I was wondering if the changes were perhaps embellishments to get new attention (how he was on the previously non-existant video for example). The David Lohr thing has been pending for awhile, maybe when it happened, it suddenly occurred to her that some things could be more interesting?

There are some people in this world who have such confidence in themselves that they think they can manage all the tales they tell. It doesn't make them bad people, just people who are difficult to understand and trust.

He did say he conducted himself that way. I have a crazy life with two disabled adult kids. There are days when I feel very worried and anxious but my bank teller or the kid at McDonalds would never know that. I would say that almost everybody can compartmentalize to some extent.

Unless he was being followed on the way to Arrow, I can't see why anything would show on his face while there.

Wouldn't they find out he is a missing person after doing a background check? Unless LE is not checking for Social Security activity, wouldn't they find out he is working somewhere?

I worked for an electrician in NY close to CT. If the guys want to become licensed in CT they had to take the test. That refers to journeyman.
We could not do any jobs in CT unless working under a licensed Master Electrician from CT. Also my ex boss, former Local 3 foreman is not a Master Electrician, he uses a "straw man". He failed the test twice. :facepalm:

IMO there is no such thing as a "druggie type" it can affect people regardless of ethnicity, health, age, or economic background. What you are refering to are druggies after years or even just months of abuse. If someone had just started using or only did it recreationally, one may not show signs of wear and tear for ohhhhh lets say ...90 days....also, I would submit that there are alot of people on prescription drugs...more than you may realize. Many would suprise you...showing zero outward signs even after years...... working in behavior health, many of my clients have dual diagnoses....neither of which you would know about to look at or talk to them..

Something to consider Born2-------there are people who think one cocktail per day makes someone an alcoholic b/c they don't drink at all. And some people are very careful to keep their addiction in check (my mother-in-law)----unlike my nephew who looked a mess before he got sober------I guess its a balance of using to main-tain versus using to get high.
But RM looks so.....normal--like a guy in his 40's from Long Island..........kind you see in Home Depot, Panera Bread, Mobil Station.

Since the local 3 union knows he is missing, would they connect that he is missing if he is working out of state? If it is that easy for him to hide and work under his license, then IM should HIRE a PI. He should be EASY to find if he is working a legit job. Between his professional license, union membership status, and social security number, he should be very easy to find. A PI would be able to find him easily.

I did some travel nursing and practiced in Norwalk and Stamford, CT. Didn't have to take a test, just provide application, fee, and current TX license. The test for nursing is a national test.

These were the first things that struck me about this case. Along with the fact that RM's wallet, iPhone, and the $300. in cash were found in the garage—and he supposedly takes off without them, makes me think of foul play. Even if he was going to start a new life, why drop that stuff off at home??? I don't get it. Also, why would he go on an errand without them?

Maybe he wanted to go for a quick bike ride and he decided not to bring the phone, because the battery died? His wallet was left behind because it was uncomfortable in his pocket?

I'm curious as to exactly when the bike was discovered missing. Was it after the car seat was found pushed forward?

Oh when my cawfee kicks in the thoughts y'all!!!!!------Isn't it illegal for adult to not carry identification in NY??? Regardless of driving a car, operating a motor vehicle---am increasingly thinking a bike ride was not a possible scenario.
Not picking on you McSpy-----and good question--when was the bike deemed missing????

In rhe most recent picture posted of him with the 2 children, he looks to be about 20 - 30 pounds lighter than he did in the vacation pictures posted. He just looks bigger like, say 210 and more robust and it was not long ago because the children have not aged much from the vacation pictures to the most recent. He appears to be 190 or even 180 in the nost resent shot. You can see it in his face.

IMO-- thats when the "sightings" happened----the ones that caused alot of chatter (and sadly maybe some hope for the family) and were found to be groundless/or not followed up b/c they were false.
