SL had her drivers license but used the family car when possible. I had my own so we were more independent on coming and going rather than depend on the logistics of borrowing the family car. In my house it came with a whole host of added chores. So I saved and got one. The insurance cost more than the car....LOL

BBM1: Thanks, MMQC.

BBM2: Totally get that, so OT I go: I paid $450 for my first car, a yellow, convertible 1968 Chevy Impala. What a boat! :great:

Sylvia had a DL and SS as for the PP? I'm not 100% positive but seems logical since whe was born in Germany and had an American Father. ASWDeerHunter could fill us in on that.

Don't recall needing a BC for getting married. I just showed my DL.

Thanks again. PP? "Parents' papers" maybe?

No we did not attend each others graduation. I can't remember exactly but I'm sure SL only got two tickets to the Wagner graduation too. As for a party. Nothing at my house. SL's graduation party was the only one I attended.

Like I've said before. I would have liked to have been able to be on the wagner campus more. Maybe SL would be here today. Change one thing from the past and you change the whole future.

SL spent most of her spare time with BF/F. AND I spent my spare time with my BF/F. We talked daily.

BBM2: When you reference "SL's graduation party" are you talking about the August pool party? Or was there another party closer to graduation time? I would have guessed that many Wagner grads had already disbursed by August after graduation -- or was Wagner more of a commuter school in those days?

My post is trimmed by me. Bumping up my second Q.

She would not have had a clue as to what to do. After SL went missing I had a big blow up with my parents. And I was the bold one of us two. I sat in the parking lot of the All night grocery store because I was afraid to go any place else. At least there were people coming and going and there were lights. So again my mind wanders to a sad, sad dark place. So much time inbetween 1975 and 2013. Life is surely different now.

What would be the state of mind behind SL if she just wanted to start a new life?

BBM: MMQC, did the blowup have anything to do with SL? I am wondering what kind of ripples her disappearance had on all of your lives. Were your parents more afraid for you? More mistrustful than before? Or was it something completely unrelated?

My post is trimmed by me. Bumping up another Q. So much has happened between these and now!

MMQC, to your knowledge, did anyone in Sylvia's family, or anyone in her circle of friends, work at Willowbrook?

One more question bumped-up. My post trimmed by me.

Maybe a UID was found there?

I have to go run errands right now and hubby waiting on me so I don't have time to look right now but my first thought was maybe there's something in NamUs associated with that location?

bbm" Uh oh... What is UID? Unidentified?

MMQC - Do you remember if Sylvia spoke German with her Mom? Was her mother's English proficient?

I wonder also if the "Will not Handle" on the police report had anything to do with Sylvia being a dual citizen / national?

--And was the detective coaching the language barrier of a distraught mother from a foreign country?

This is the closest one I found in Bucks County. Although it's very unlikely, she is believed to have died in 1984 (found in 1988). She's also too short and weighs too little to be Sylvia...

Which languages did Sylvia understand? Which ones did she speak?

I'm not sure. I remember taking Spanish with her in Jr. High but HS? College?

Mother was very well spoken in the english language.

I doubt it very much about the dual citizen either. I don't recall anyone ever speaking in German.

Where had Sylvia's ex-BF (military young man) been stationed?

MMQC: Sounds like Sylvia came to America when she was young. How old were you two when you met?

bbm: Oh I am not surprised, there. --A natural reaction. Very scary for a parent...

(I am editing this post because when I reread it just now I went, huh?!) --

MMQC: Do you remember if many people knew she was missing at the time? --Town, neighborhood, businesses? -I remember a story of a missing young woman in my home town in the 80's... I guess I am hoping that with the energy and awareness generated recently and coming out with the reward for information that someone may remember something from back then...
