What if they were in it together? No body, no real foul play. It could have been staged.

I have a real problem with logistics. If Bannerman was their destination, they would NOT HAVE crossed the bridge to Newburgh. They would have gone directly to Beacon then south on 9D towards Cold Spring. They would have stopped somewhere to launch the kayaks.

NO WAY in my book would they have traveled way out of their way to the west side of the river to launch then make a reckless crossing on the river.

Late afternoon into evening, ummmm not in my book.
I am leaning towards it was all staged.

Granted, the river has strong currents and is tidal, body could be anywhere.
There are marshes, rocky shores as well.

Mind you, there are train tracks along both sides of the river.

I am hoping the telescope witnesses and the boat rescuers have real input.

Agree with everything you say and I sure hope that LE are digging DEEP into Vincent and Angelika's backgrounds to see if any of them are in trouble, bc thinking of it, it could as well be Angelika who has gotten herself into something bad which they believed would be a threat to their lives and happiness.

I can't really see how could she have tempered with the kayak either.
I also can't understand why would one commit such a crime in a place where could've easily been witnesses.
The fight getting out of hand or maybe him falling to the water and she not helping him make more sense to a 2nd degree murder charge. MOO as always.

because she never became a citizen- you don't recieve citizenship just by being married.
you have to apply for citizenship. maybe she felt more alliegence to her home country.

And it takes awhile even if you're married. So she may have tried but if there was a break up and she's no longer married her application would be halted.

As to motive, it certainly does not need to be financial. As we've seen on here year after year, people kill their loved ones for a variety of unfathomable reasons- rage, jealousy, to prevent a break up, to save face, etc.

The story about her ex finally giving in and giving her the cat after she threatened him and then installing an alarm system immediately after, should ring alarm bells in all of us when considering that her fiancé is missing and she's been charged with murder. Sounds like she could be a person who loses it when "pushed". And frankly, not from any place of logic, something in her face chills me. She looks sinister to me.

As as to a "faked" death scenario, first of all, there is not one hint that Viafore had any trouble of any kind. Second, there is just no possible way on earth, IMO, that someone is going to continue with the plan when arrested and charged with second degree murder.

We often come up with elaborate what if scenarios in these cases and I have yet to ever see one remotely pan out. The most likely scenario is almost always what happened. Here, it is that this woman did indeed purposefully kill her mate as thousands of murderous people do in ill-fated relationships, for one reason or another, every year.

Fiancee charged with murder will not appear in court today

A woman accused of murder in connection with her fiance's disappearance will not appear in court today, Tuesday.

Graswald, who police said they initially thought was a "survivor of a tragic accident," was set to appear in New Windsor Court today at 4 p.m. The case will likely now be handled in the Orange County Court. Graswald's next court date is unclear.

The Goshen-based Legal Aid Society of Orange County is representing Graswald, but the office would not say which attorney will handle the case.

NEW WINDSOR – The case of Angelika Graswald, who is accused of murdering her fiancé during a kayaking trip on the Hudson River, will await grand jury action.

A preliminary hearing scheduled in New Windsor Town Court on Tuesday was cancelled.

Suspects charged in felony cases cannot be held more than five days unless either a preliminary hearing is held or the case is presented to a grand jury.

Orange County Chief Assistant District Attorney Christopher Borek said a grand jury is still working on the case and he could not disclose anything about the proceedings.

I mean people have faked their deaths before. It seems highly unlikely that this experienced water loving big guy just dies a sudden death at the hands of his much smaller and most likely (not a fact) inexperienced kayaker lover. JMO.

I have a kayak and unless you drill holes in it, I can't think of any other way to tamper with it. I am sure she didn't "tamper" with it close to shore, I can't imagine her tiny self tipping his kayak over in the middle of the Hudson either, unless she hit him in the head with something or drugged him.

My kayak (a plastic Pelican from Academy) has a couple of screws I have to tighten every once in a while or else I get slow leaks into my cockpit. I wonder what kind they had?

So they pushed off from Cornwall Yacht Club? That's further south than Plum Point and further away from the Island. Strange, unless they went there for lunch prior to kayaking?? From what I've read Plum Point has the accommodations for kayaking into the Hudson.
