The NYPD has released photos of Friday morning’s abduction. One shows the suspect, with outstretched hands, approaching the victim at an intersection. Police say the suspect fled northbound on Stillwell Avenue.

Why would they blur the womans face ?? Surely it would be beneficial for people to recognize her?

The only reason the blur could make sense - she was bleeding? Maybe this was a DV incident and she left on foot, then he caught up with her?

A police source told the New York Post that investigators are at a loss regarding who the two people in the video are.

'She didn’t appear to be struggling like you would if it was a stranger,' the source told the newspaper.

hmm...another option could be if LE is not convinced this is a true abduction, and they blurred her so she would feel comfortable coming forward to clear it up.
2am...could this be people who were out drinking, one person got separated, and when her male friend found her he was goofing around and decided to pick her up? that's a best case scenario.

It’s a little odd that police were seemingly unable to get a license plate number — there are cameras & plate readers everywhere here. Placard fraud (where people bend or partially obstruct their license plates to avoid paying tolls) is a big thing here — I wonder if the plate was obscured in some way.

Since February, this is the 3rd report like this that I’ve seen. A woman in Philadelphia taken at gunpoint by a man on an ATV, or golf cart, was the first one. Next, it was a little girl picked up by a man driving a white van in Amarillo, Texas.
I haven’t heard an update on either of those. I figure this will follow the same pattern. Very weird, imo.

Here's a report on the ATV abduction - no updates. Police Looking for a Woman Kidnapped in Broad Daylight in Port Richmond The little girl in Texas - nothing since the initial reports out of Amararilla but LE said no one reported a child missing so it may not have been a kidnapping in my opinion.

The way he holds his arms out does not seem threatening to me, and LE themselves state that she wasn't struggling, as if she knew the suspect. So why call it a kidnapping? Why the facial blurring?
Also thought it's weird how he holds his arms up from such a distance. You would think that if he didn't know the woman, he would approach her in a more inconspicuous manner. He also doesn't seem worried about his face being attacked whilst he is carrying her. If the woman was a stranger she would most likely defend herself and try to attack him.

The way he holds his arms out feels like an "I'm not going to hurt you" stance.

What is she wearing under that skirt, PJ bottoms, sweats?

My thoughts were going in for a hug/"oh my gosh it's you!" when you see an old friend.

I think she is wearing shorts over some joggers.

Ita.
It's a bit odd to call it a 'kidnapping'.
Hope she is ok and it's able to be cleared up ?

Here's what LE said she was wearing, they don't mention that she clearly has something on under the blue skirt.

The woman is in her 20s, around 5-foot-5, 120 pounds and has long hair. She was wearing a striped shirt, blue skirt and white sneakers.

I agree -- the circumstances are a bit... weird. It doesn't seem like he was sneaking up on her or that she was afraid of him, but then why refer to it as an abduction? The way NYPD is describing the incident makes it seem like maybe someone witnessed the incident (either someone on the street or a neighbor who heard something and looked out their window) and thought something nefarious was going on.

I will say that I've lived in NYC for 7 years and not once have I seen an adult being picked up and carried into a vehicle, so the situation definitely seems 'off' to me. Hopefully the woman will come forward and let police know she's okay if this was just something that got misinterpreted.
