They have a "very strong idea"of who it is, but the will not announce who it is until the ME has a positive ID.

Still no positive ID

Wow. Makes me think there must be facial injuries?

I am so sorry for her family. I'll be watching this case. This perp needs to be caught!

The remains are a young black girl.

ME - the remains are of a young black girl. Fingerprint and DNA are being processed, along side an active investigation.

Everything is consistent with the missing girl but until they have 🤬🤬🤬 ID they will not be releasing a name

This is just SO sad :tears:

ME remains are of young black girl. Our main focus is on the young lady who was reported missing. Working to positively ID her via scientifc means.

We have been continuing to go forward with the identification process.

Everything is consistent with the missing person but until we are positive we will not confirm it is her.

FBI spokesperson. We are here to support the PD with resources, whatever they need. Have good relationship with this agency. Here to help. We need tips/information. Where she was seen, who she was with. Anything no matter how small.

Those who might hesitate should call - there is a reward.

No stone will be left unturned.

Tips can be made anonymously via crime stoppers.

Another presser either tomorrow or Friday

Reporter - Do we have a serial killer?

"no comment on that"

  • #109
He was saying something else and it cut out on me

RE Possible serial killer: we will investigate commonalities. I can't say yes or no but we do look for commonalities always.

It feels ominous...like whatever happened to her was horrific. This young girl has hit me hard. I don't know what it is about her or this case, but I can't stop thinking about her.

I hope they resolve this soon. The poor family. :(

Hopefully it's just cleveland being idiotic and she's not so hurt they can't ID here. They prob know it's her but need to confirm with dental records or some such which might not be that easy for her family to obtain. If anything happened to me, not only would I not really know where to get my own dental records but thanks to lots of moving and living alone, anyone else would definitely not know where to start. I'd probably have to go back to my Texas dentist from years ago.

But then the LE reps deny the conditions are consistent with a possible SK while the councilman said it straight up on news video! That's not committing. That's not scaring people. They live there. They know. But CPD get so awkward and secretive and then just keep sticking their feet in their mouths (?) and next thing you know their totally off topic and not solving anything.

I really hope someone comes forward with info on this so it gets solved and adjudicated FAST. I'm thinking they might because she was young but also literally childlike. Get them convicted and in the jail and get CLE off the case before it becomes a literal federal case.

:tantrum: I don't know if there's more evil in this world, or we just hear more about it because of easier access to media, but dayum it, this is out of control!

I'm sick and tired of people disappearing, and people being murdered!

This child SHOULD have been able to go to school, and be safe! Kids SHOULD be able to play in the park, or ride their bikes without fear! There is no way I would allow my kid outside unattended, yet I remember when I was gone for hours playing in the creeks and woods. A fun childhood, exploring, learning, and being a kid.

Prayers for Alianna's family.

I echo the same sentiments. Devastating! I read her case when it was first posted, but wasn't much information to sleuth, or try to help. Sadly by the time she was reported missing, she was probably already deceased.

Defreeze, 14, has been missing since Thursday morning when she was last seen in the 3400 block of East 149th Street, boarding a bus for school.
The abandoned house on Fuller where the body was found is about two and a half miles away from the bus stop Defreeze went missing from.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office has not yet confirmed the identity of the victim.

Last week 14-year-old Alianna DeFreeze disappeared. She’s a child with special needs. She took an RTA bus to East 93rd and Kinsman, but she never made it to school.

Police searching homes found the dead body two blocks from where Alianna got off the bus heading to school.

The I TEAM has learned that video shows her getting off the bus and then crossing the street.

Looks like we have more stellar reporting by the news media. I found an article this morning that said she was found two blocks from where she got off the bus. The article you linked (and I linked earlier) says it
was 2 1/2 miles from where she got off the bus.

The principal of E Prep, who also aided in search efforts, says Alianna was seen outside of her school around, 6:50 a.m. and was later spotted at a McDonald's near East 93rd and Kinsman with another girl.

The principal says a bus driver told her the 14-year-old got off a bus on Broadway around 3:20 p.m. Thursday.

Could she have met someone in the morning who she had contact with later, after school?

Just bumping your post Bessie to try and help for the timeline

Thanks, skib. I've been waiting for a positive ID to update my map. I've also been holding off because the timeline is so sketchy. Hoping to get some clarity on exactly where and at what time she was at the named locations.

Maybe we can figure it out for ourselves. We know the address where she got off the first bus, and we have a photo of the house on Fuller. Anyone want to take Google map guy for a walk? I'll do it, but can't get to it until later - so if someone can do it now, go for it.
