Case report for incident 26TC01027

“I also discovered that the two children in the home had not woke up and was still in their bedroom throughout this incident.”

Is it just me, or is it a little odd that the daughters both slept through everything? I think this sentence from the case report is a little ambiguous—it might mean Det. Sgt. Morgan found them still asleep or that he believed that didn’t wake up during the “incident” and he found them in their bedroom, maybe waking.

In any case, they are said to have slept through a supposed intruder breaking in, two gunshots, their dad supposedly checking in on them multiple times, their dad sobbing on the phone for several minutes, the dog barking, and law enforcement arriving. Is that normal for two girls who (based on Ashley’s FB) looked to be about elementary school aged, or would you expect something else to be going on for them to sleep through so many loud noises?

Nope.

From Plunder Studios:

UPDATE: People are debating the language of this Ohio court document.
[…]

Ashley Flynn was pregnant: Her unborn baby was killed when Caleb Flynn allegedly shot his wife in the head.

As if this sad case can't get any worse: "In documents reviewed by Court TV, investigators say that Flynn used a 9mm handgun to murder Ashley, who was pregnant at the time. The unborn baby was killed as well."

Caleb appeared in court today, and he had the nerve to tell the judge, as he looked up at the camera, "Sir, I just want to take care of my daughters. I'm not a risk."

Facebook
Well this one got grimmer. I'm glad he didn't take out the other kids, at least.

Good points.

Could they have been given Benadryl or some other medication make them sleep well that night and not awaken ?
If you're going to commit your evil heinous act you don't want the kids waking up and maybe foiling your plan ?
Speculating here.

I am so relieved this 'man' was caught and I mean caught right away. He didn't get anytime to even think he was getting away with it. Not even a date night with his alleged mistress. (I am putting alleged because I haven't had time to verify and or go completely through this thread, but can I see him cheating? Absolutely.)

I hate when it takes a while to catch the husband and he goes on living his life...sometimes moving the new woman in to play 'mommy,' going on dates with new partner, etc. This dude didn't get anytime to do any of that and I am so thankful for that.

I don't care how long I stay on this website and go into the details of case after case ... it just always gets to me that these people think taking out their spouse is the best solution.

Ashley's family must be feeling so much tonight. They had been together for quite a while. It has to be shocking for the families. Not to mention even Caleb's family as well - they must just be in shock. ☹️

Of course the husband is a pastor, or was.
Hiding behind the collar once again. IDK if he was a youth pastor, but if he was, this warrants investigation as well.

I first heard about it here, on this YT channel that exposes corruption in the Christian church. p.s. I just saw in the comments that he's going to do an update tonight.

I don’t blame the family for keeping her service private. They probably want quiet time with their girl to send her forward with love, warmth and peace.

I will get back to the vile man that executed her later.

IMO

Tonight, I will light a candle for Ashley Flynn.

I wonder when he actually killed her. Since the kids didn't wake up during the "event", maybe he killed his wife when the kids weren't home, then told the kids that Mommy was sick that she needed to sleep and that they will see her in the morning.
I just came here to say exactly that. When was the last time they saw their mother? Were they told not to bother her cuz she didn't feel well and was "sleeping"? I really feel for those girls. :( I wonder where they are staying now?

I have moments of intense anger toward this monster but most of the time I'm just incredibly sad. Too close to home I guess.

Ashley was not pregnant. People are misreading the legal 'boilerplate' language on the court document. In Ohio, the law for Murder (ORC 2903.02) is written as a template that includes 'murder OR termination of a pregnancy.' It’s standard legal wording used in every case, not a factual statement about Ashley. If she were pregnant, there would be a separate, second charge filed, which there isn't."
Thank is a bit of a"good news" in this otherwise sad story. Thanks for the clarification!

I just watched the arraignment video. I'm glad the judge issued NO CONTACT with the family:

Agreed. It also says "to wit" below that 'or' statement, and then proceeds to say he murdered his wife (to wit):

"To wit" definition: to wit is an adverbial phrase that means "namely," "that is to say," or "specifically". It is used to provide precise details, clarification, or a specific example of a more general statement that was just mentioned.

Looks like their church took down their leadership team page with pics and names of those that work there. I hit Refresh and got this and it was there earlier!

“It’s disturbing the speed at which this occurred,” said defense attorney L. Patrick Mulligan of Dayton law firm Moermond & Mulligan, who is representing Caleb Flynn. “I question the thoroughness” of the investigation.

[..]

Mulligan also called his client’s $2 million bond “unnecessarily high” and said he plans to seek a bond reduction.

“It denies him the opportunity to be at the funeral for his wife, which is an unspeakable tragedy,” he said, and also is a disruption to the grieving process.

[..]

Caleb Flynn, the couple’s daughters and two Goldendoodles also were home at the time of the shooting.

“The two children in the home had not woke up and (were) still in their bedroom throughout this incident,” the court record said.
