This is a tough sentence to deconstruct but I do believe she was conveying the following point: "Everyone on the street is totally shocked."

I think the double negative is used for emphasis here. Kind of like an oral exclamation point. So: Anyone around here would be totally shocked!

He said that she confronted him. I doubt she confronted him while in bed. ETA there was a rumor she was shot in bed.

I'd be freaking the heck out if I lived there.

I don't think they'd say that if they believed someone is out on the loose. I keep side-eyeing the husband. That could be the reason the community isn't in danger.

So, the dogs didn't alert ?

Well, pretty much everyone here guessed that this was the case. Am sad that we were all right. Poor Ashley and very sad for their two young girls

Selfish and cruel of the man they once called 'daddy' to take their mom whom I am certain loved them with all of her heart.
And to think how many years she put up with him ?
There's no telling what went on behind closed doors, but you don't turn from a kind and loving man -- into a murderer of your own wife and mother of your children, overnight !
Mental, physical, or emotional, I'm thinking he was probably abusive to her, esp in those final months after he'd made his evil plans ?

Did anyone find any prior arrest records for him? or police calls for domestic violence? I tried looking but couldn't find anything.
