It would be a whole new kind of FBI profile for a random car thief to have had the foresight to memorize the details of a missing child's identity in case they ever get caught.

I'm going with that this is either a seriously mentally ill person who set out to do this for the excitement/attention of yesterday, or an especially devious person who was hoping there would be a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 or something that would get rolling before the gig was up.

Was Amy on good terms with any of her ex-husbands or their family?
(Pitzen was her fourth husband)

In the Crime Watch Daily episode, James says Amy was in contact with one of her ex-husbands and he was angered at this. He told her she could go be with her ex-husband but that he would keep Timmothy with him. This was years before the disappearance though.
