It was reported earlier in the thread by MSM that she sent a text to a friend or colleague that said something to the effect she'd see them later if she wasn't dead. Someone that says that, even in jest, is likely not to go out in the woods with the person they are afraid of. No intentionally. Could she have been forced at gunpoint by whoever harmed her to drive to a remote location? (thinking back to the young Barista in Oregon who was killed by a neighbor after he forced her into the woods).I don't believe she was killed at home. However, if a scenario of her being murdered happened, IN MY OPINION ONLY, I feel in my heart someone had help.
First- she came home, after dropping her daughter off at school. Wasn't it a little while later, her car was parked at the parking lot where it was found later? To me, that makes the scenario of her being murdered by one person hard to do. No evidence found in the home, from what LE has insinuated. So, we can deduce it happened elsewhere, but in order for one person to have done this alone, they would have needed more time, to get the car to where it was eventually parked and somehow, draw Cheryl or kidnap Cheryl to wherever her body is, if she is deceased.
Was she convinced to go for a ride with someone, maybe a hike together to talk things over or something to that effect, and something occurred in the woods? Are there any hiking trails around there, is there a park near there or in another town that hikers enjoy? It was warm in October up here, so I am imagining that it might have been warm there, too, enough to go for a walk.
Any hunting grounds near that area? Hunting cabins? We know that they both had guns. I wonder if there was any hunting knife missing from the home? Of course, that would be harder to find, especially if no one knew about the knife. I know of hunters that have several of them, so if anyone used one, probably no one would know it was missing or recently used. Guns are registered, so LE would know if one was missing. Hunting knives are not, and if someone had several of them, no one would be the wiser if one was missing.
I don't think that she is far away, but it would be difficult to have harmed her in one spot, while driving a car to another spot, in a short period of time.
I had to go to Kroger today so I drove past Cheryl’s home, it’s a really eerie feeling. And I was trying figure out how he or someone got Cheryl’s SUV to the Kroger parking lot,
After driving the street that someone would would have used that day according to the direction the SUV pulled in, I really think if and when he is taken into custody for the disappearance, and his photograph is released there will be people who live on those streets will remember him either driving or walking back to his house
My fellow sleuths, question, if the police don’t come up with any newer evidence, in 2019, is Cheryl’s case file going to turn very COLD,
Is there anything the police can do to rattle the tree to see if a projected suspect will slip and make a mistake to blow this case to life again
Welcome to WebSleuths!I don’t foresee this case becoming cold any time soon. As with most cases, I think there is a lot going on behind the scenes. LE is probably waiting for enough to charge someone and make sure it sticks.
No more than about 3 hours. She dropped her daughter off at the high school a little before 7:30am and then returned home. The video shows her vehicle arriving at the parking lot at 10:49am.I know I know much will change if Cheryl is found, after reviewing this case consistently, the one time line I need identified .
Does any one know how much time (estimated) from the point Cheryl’s SUV returned to her to her home after dropping daughter off at school, until her vehicle was captured on the surveillance camera by Clanceys , before it was abandoned.
Trying to figure out a radius where she could have been “dumped”, and still allow him time to get vehicle to Kroger.
With morning traffic conditions, Cheryl is dumped close to home , so with time element the circle could more defunded.
Without something else to narrow the time frame down I would think the maximum distance from her home would be 50 miles in any direction (radius) which would be a circle 100 miles across (diameter). So within approx. 2 hours window she is killed and dumped and based on traffic is at parking lot at 10:35am, please help me fine tune, so I am figuring 1.5 hrs to “kill her” and drive somewhere to dispose, and 1/2 hour to get to Kroger, so with everyone’s help how far of a radius depending on road speed, traffic conditions , how far would you estimate a compass circle with the point on Cheryl’s home, I know there is a lot of areas she could be dumped within the radius , but which areas are secluded enough to dispose without detection,
Also how many of these areas have cameras around them , that he could be detected . Or did he preplan an area that no one will ever find her.
I think if we can define this circle we can hopefully find cheryl
True. That would effectively double the radius of the circle. Do we actually know that he picked up their daughter from school? That she didn't get a ride from friends or another parent? You're also assuming that he dumped her body before the car. I tend to think he dumped the car, walked home and then took the body. That gives him from 10:49 to get home with 20-30 mins max depending on route or even sooner if someone picked him up. Then he had all afternoon until school pick up at 3:30. That makes the dumping radius even larger.
