"Angel Zam, a family friend, said she heard Angela screaming at Elaina.
Ive seen her be abusive, have heard her scream [to Elaina], You little! You know, stuff you just dont say, she said. She was really abusive to the kids. She had a lot of issues. I felt sorry for her.
Zak Zam, Angels son, said he witnessed similar incidents.
She just seemed very violent toward the [4-year-old daughter]. Slapped her across the face, said, You little b*tch. Those are some of the worse things that Ive seen, he said.
Angel said Angela would leave Elaina alone for hours at a time.
That baby was in the playpen for 20 out of 24 hours. I feel so bad because I didnt do anything. I feel ashamed, she said.
Day 19: Elaina's mother appears in court on child endangering charges
Updated: Jun 20, 2013 12:26 PM EDT
As the search for missing Elaina continues, her mother, Angela Steinfurth, has been behind bars on child endangering charges.
She made her second courtroom appearance Thursday morning very quickly, only taking about five minutes. Angela looked shaken and fidgeted throughout her entire appearance, while the family looked on with high emotion.
The prosecution asked to resume Monday at the request of Toledo police. After leaving the courtroom, things got heated outside the courthouse when an argument erupted between both sides of the family.
"It ain't about you guys. It ain't about the media. It ain't about talking smack and everything, and sitting around campfires. It's about my granddaughter. It ain't about them, and it ain't about me. It's about my granddaughter, and my daughter, and bringing my granddaughter home," said Elaina's grandfather, Richard Schiewe.
Angela returned to the Lucas County Jail, where police have access to keep questioning her.

Well....supposedly AS was needing someplace to stay the night she showed up at SK house. Why didn't she stay with step dad? Did he turn her and his grandbabies away?
Can we somehow WS wise create a fund raiser to help them recover the loss? ON FB or on Here? Perhaps a paypal button , just for this one thing? I know it's not the job of ws but we know how heavily they are relied on . Or maybe does TES have a paypal donate on their site? Maybe we should all just share like mad on fb and try to get a few dollars here or there to go in to the fund. It would be a big tragedy if they closed their doors![]()
OT sorry mods.
My G-d how many people knew that she was abusing those girls and stayed quiet or how many chances did CPS have to intervene and failed to act? It makes me sick to think of what sweet Elaina and K were forced to endure by the woman that should have loved and protected them above all others.
I alerted on one of Ransom's posts with a link to ask. I hadnt heard anything about it until a couple secs ago when I read ransom's posts with the news links. The problem is that I usually use my iPad, so what I do is leave open tabs with the threads I visit the most...so I don't always see the front page of the site or of individual forums very reliably. It would be nice if maybe they could have an announcement at the top of whatever page you're on - sort of like what happened when Hailey Dunn's remains were found (iirc). Or like where they have the announcement about Emma's Law right now.
RS makes no sense to me. I can't figure out what he means when he's talking. Is anyone with me or am I hanging out here in la-la land by myself?

You learn how to parent from your parents....imo
That can be a HUGE factor, but I know grandparents who took their grandkids from their parents because they WEREN'T raising them like they were raised. In each case, severe illegal drug abuse has been involved.
