OH - girl 5, beaten and sexually assaulted - Cleveland, Sep 2025 *boy 9 and girl 10 arrested*

Absolutely I think you laid this out beautifully
Thank you. All of the CSA that we are constantly seeing weighs heavy on my heart. I have watched the long-term effects of crimes most would think of as "lesser" than these we are discussing here, just absolutely ruin peoples lives. There are no"lesser" CSA crimes. Even what seems a simple act of "exposure" can be life changing for a developing child. Then I think of the atrocities that this baby girl endured at an age where she is old enough to remember but too young to comprehend. My heart just breaks in two. No matter how much help she gets, she is forever changed from who she was intended to be.

I, too, wonder who was supposed to be watching her.

I also find myself wondering where the person was that was supervising this little girl. Was she just left to play with these older kids? I believe it was reported that she was at a relatives house.
I read it was a family member or a family friend’s house and the little girl somehow just walked out the front door

A Cleveland mother is calling for justice after she says her 5-year-old daughter was brutally beaten and sexually assaulted by a group of boys who lured her from a family member’s home last month.
[snip]
Kennibrew alleged in an interview with Cleveland 13 that three older boys, ages 8, 9, and 10, were responsible for her daughter’s assault. The mother said the boys beat her daughter until she was unconscious, urinated on her and tried to strangle her with her shirt. The boys also sexually assaulted the young girl, her mother alleged.
Ohio Mom Says Her 5-Year-Old Daughter Was Sexually Assaulted and Brutally Beaten by Group of Young Boys

this article is about a week old and so we now know one of the accused was female and not male. But this article seems to indicated the child was lured out of the house. Bless her heart he probably just thought she was going out to make friends and play with the neighborhood kids.

I don't know if unfettered internet access played any role in this crime but..

The age at which one encounters 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 has gotten lower due to the prevalence of personal electronic devices like tablets and cell phones that offer access to the internet.

Here is a stat from American College of Pediatricians:

A 2022 survey of Teens and 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 reported that 54% of teens had seen 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 by the time they were 13 years old and 15% prior to 11 years.

And add to that the MUSIC that they are hearing........... Younger and Younger and Younger. The hate, the sexuality, the violence. In Music, Video Games, Internet, probably at home they see/hear the exact same things. I'm guess parents are of the same vein as these 'kids'. And no, i do NOT write them off as victims, as of yet. They knew right from wrong, thats why they lied at first.

If a lot of people were there, and the neighborhood was familiar, her absence may not have been noticed for a while. (This is how a lot of drownings happen, as we know all too well.)

Interesting read when considering a child perpetrator as a victim. The age of reason, when a child becomes able to discern between right and wrong, is generally said to occur between the ages of 7-11. However, when the perpetrator is a child and him/herself is victim of physical and psychological abuse, it interferes with their moral judgement.
I saw a YouTube video a while back where some former Jehovah's Witnesses were talking about abuse within that church (in short, they really don't handle it), and they named other religions that had protocols on what to do if an abuser, of either a child or an adult, IS a child themselves. That definitely needs to be addressed in ALL spheres of living.

if they were capable of something so heinous at ages 8, 9, and 10 imagine what they’ll do as adults. These kids and their parents can rot in prison for all I care.
Yet one of the 10yo murderers of James Bulger in Liverpool England has managed an adult life without serious crime or maybe even any crime so far. You can find the case here on WS. The other murderer lives a crime-filled life, in and out of prison.

I have yet to find James' case on this site and I've tried multiple times. I mentioned his case upthread. Can you please provide a link to it?

Thanks.

That's what I suspected. Not the same James Bulger whose case I mentioned reminds me of this case of the 5 yr old girl. That one happened in 1993 and they were sentenced decades ago, not recently sentenced.

No, not the same, but my point is: similar aged child perps spend years of childhood in prison after heinous crime towards younger child and one of those two perps comes out of prison able to lead a crime-free life.
ETA and I was responding to a different poster, it made sense in that context.

I don't understand what you mean - if the child abuses an adult?

I would assume that's in cases of older children (teens) hurting vulnerable adults (ie the elderly or disabled). Or if a child participates in abuse alongside an enabling adult.

I live in Cleveland and I'm struggling to wrap my head around all of this. The violence here doesn't faze me but this is just disturbing. All I can think of is either early gang influence on these kids (unlikely) or more broadly, early and regular exposure to violence and adult content. But I don't know. Nobody knows...
