Almost 4 hours tells me there is a lot of evidence of something criminal.

Or they're looking at everything very closely, gathering a lot of evidence to test.

They are working this one by the book I believe, slow careful methodical. Good investigation makes a helluva lot of difference.
And they have been under some scrutiny on this one MOO

Investigators have now been in the home about 4 hours, according to Channel 8

Dotting I's crossing T's and leaving no stone unturned. They want to make sure they search EVERY part of the UNOCCUPIED house. It looks like it has power, maybe they turned it on to do the search idk, BUT if they found some sort of evidence that HD HAD been there they want to make sure that he isn't hiding anywhere while they are there so they will search every nook and cranny so that we the public can't say "Well you half arsed the job" I mean think about it. What would we say if they went in, looked in every room (more like glanced) and said "ok he's not here" and took off....we would be LIVID and say "you didn't even TRY to find anything why are you even here????" SO, now they are making it painstakingly clear that they are doing their job thoroughly and to the point where, right now while we are on pins and needles, we feel it's over kill, but in the long run we will appreciate each and every moment they are in there, ESPECIALLY if they are able to get any type of evidence of HD being in that house. IMO

I don’t think it’s abandoned. I think it’s more likely that the homeowners were away.

That would atleast make it less worse than the alternative.

The news reporter interviewed a bystander who said the house is almost always empty because the homeowners live away and are not close. Neighbors are aware the house is unoccupied according to her interview.

Pretty sure this is okay to upload because it's from a live stream. If not, mods please remove. The WTOL guy said "I wish we could say something about the coat" and there APPEARS to be a maroon coat hanging on something in the upstairs middle window MOO !!!

It comes in handy if there's a grand jury hearing or trial sometime in the future.

I want to stay up to see what happens but I can barely keep my eyes open. Prayers they find him soon.

That makes sense. It also makes sense that someone who knew that, would dump evidence there (if the house itself is not a crime scene).

No matter what happens, I can not believe that it took the police 3 1/2 weeks to check the abandoned home across the street. If you are looking for a runaway, wouldn't that be the first place you look???????????
I believe the home is unoccupied, not abandoned.
Not uncommon for many residents in costal towns to be snowbirds
Police can not just enter a home on a whim without cause.
Someone owns that home whether it be a person/s or the bank. Police are going to need permission to enter that home either be consent or search warrent.

I don't know why they didn't check all the houses of the people that spend their summers in Port Clinton and then go home. There are a lot. They would need permission, but I'm sure at least 90% of homeowners would approve.

I have a feeling this is about to get really creepy.

From this link you can turn the arrow and see the house across the street from Harley's home. It isn't a boarded up house. It may be unoccupied, but it's a decent house which may have electricity at this time.

Honestly even if they find really good evidence there they will get even more scrutiny. It’s been 3 weeks and people will question why it wasn’t found before. Especially being this close to his home. MOO

They could have gotten a search warrant. Seriously serious.

Thank you to everyone who clarified that the house is "unoccupied." That makes more sense now. I had a busy day, and just checked on Harley for the first time since this morning and read an earlier post saying "abandoned home," and my outrage at the potentially inept police work took over before I read all the new updates...

Prayers for Harley, and to all who are waiting for news on this sweet boy who has stolen our hearts.
