I wonder if it would have been normal for Katelyn and JC to text throughout the day on a Sunday while she was at work, or to have have some contact...seems like most young people do. When was he first alarmed again?
And if he IS guilty...was he waiting, hoping someone else would report her missing?

My son and his gf are roughly the same age as KM and JC. They text each other all day, even if one is at work. Not DURING work, but during breaks or in a quick moment here and there. She always texts him when she arrives and leaves, just for safety sake. [ she works nights a lot.] I know that if my son was texting her at work and she did not respond once that he would be very concerned. So I can understand why JC was worried, even upon seeing her car at home. Because if she was home, he would have to wonder WHY she never answered, even if only to say I am home sick, call me later.

LE doesn't seem to want to say this is a criminal case as yet...it is apparent they are investigating as such, but they won't say so. If they in fact DON'T have a suspect in mind, the townspeople should know, IMO...that some weirdo might be on the loose...

I see where on FB tonight that a family member has said they don't know what she was wearing and that no one on either side of the family could even say if shoes were missing. AGAIN odd to me.

Not to me. Not if she had lots of clothing and shoes and if she did not go missing in whatever it was that she was seen wearing earlier in the day. She was probably in charge of doing her own laundry so IMO it's quite possible that no one was so familiar with her wardrobe that they would remember what was missing. If she changed for bed she could be wearing some non-descript t-shirt she stopped wearing in public years ago.

I'm not sure I would notice what was missing in my children's closets. Maybe if it was something they wear often, or that I have photos of. I wouldn't know if something of my husband's was missing, he has lots of dark colored t-shirts and jeans that I can't tell apart.

I agree with you, however if she was going to sleep, wouldn't her boyfriend of 6 years know what she would wear to bed? Or even her dad who supposedly lived with her. He must've seen what she would wear before bedtime? or not. Perhaps men are not as observant as women?

I think the biggest clue is what she was supposed to do that night. From what the bf said, they were going to discuss the move to Colorado but she was too tired. Trying to imagine myself as a 22 year old young woman madly in love with someone.

1) Was their relationship stale and she wanted out?

2) Was she having second thoughts about the move but needed some time to break the news to the bf?

3) Was she really tired and figured we have time to discuss it, we can do it some other time?

I think this is where LE has hit a road block. Did she want out and if so, did she leave her life behind or did the bf harm her because she wanted to end a 6 year relationship? OR nothing at all to do with the relationship and she was abducted by someone she thought she knew or a total stranger.

I've not seen that the photo had been released. In an interview, JC stated that it was a picture of a picture of her. A picture that her boss or supervisor had taken of her at some point (he did not say when.)

This was on my mind heavily last night.

We've heard it stated many times that Katelyn was very driven and a planner. JC himself said that she was always making lists and she never did anything without having it planned out. I'd like to know more about their move to Colorado. Did they have family there? Did she have a job lined up (I'm thinking no or this would have been talked about.) Did they have money saved for the move and life after the move until they got jobs, etc? Was this something that was decided recently or have they been planning this for some time? What was special about CO- had they been there before? Did they have a home or apt picked out or even a particular area of the state or was it just "somewhere in Colorado?"

I'm a planner and even in my 20's I would have needed to have all of this ironed out before moving.

It is possible that Katelyn wanted to postpone or cancel the move. It could be she woke up to the reality that neither one of them had jobs. The economy is beginning to tank again so maybe she was having second thoughts. She realized it may be difficult for her to get a job again and maybe even more so for JC to get one. Or maybe this was a recent decision and she felt that they hadn't planned well enough.

I know when my niece graduated last year she had grand plans of getting a job all sorts of places and moving. Ironically enough, she had an art degree. She talked of Boston, San Francisco, Denver and many other places. Then the job hunt began and she realized that this was going to be much more difficult than she thought and she decided to stay put for a while.

I'm leaning more and more toward the theory that the move to Colorado presented a problem. JC's statement about her not being forced is not sitting well with me so I feel they had some sort of disagreement and she either left to cool off or he lost his temper and did something horrible. My gut says she did not take off.

Just my opinion, for now. I reserve the right to change my mind if more facts come out

I am hoping for some news today. I believe LE has some lead, just not sure what it is. I think that its hard to tell what type of relationship the couple has with just hearing one side. There was a pic posted on here, I thought that was the pic that was sent from the phone. I do not have time to go back, but it was either yesterday or the day before. Pretty easy to find, since this thread moves slow, since there is no info. I looked at the fb page her friends created and I was surprise that they did not want any neg info, thats were truths or leads could come from.

ETA: On JC's FB, he has a cigarette in hand too. So, now this begs the question as to whether she smoked inside or outside. She could have gone outside with her phone to text JC and smoke..just left the dog in her bed while she went out side for a special break.

Oh wow, thanks for finding that Surf. I really wonder if she was in her bedroom, decided to go outside for a smoke, shut the door behind her with her dog in it, went outside with her phone in hand and was possibly taken from there.

Thank you for allowing me to participate in your forum. I'm from the cincinnati area and have been glued to this story from day one.

As far as the word "positive" is concerned, I think what he meant was that it was an encouraging sign that some of her belongings were still inside the townhouse. A "positive" sign. This is the strangest man to have ever stepped before a microphone during a missing person investigation.

My question is this: when was the last time Katelyn was seen? Just because he is quoting midnight as the last time her saw her doesn't mean it is etched in stone. What if it was much earlier in the evening or even early morning?

I have a beautiful 22 year old daughter and she was on facebook looking at his wall. I told her to send him a message to see if he would add her as a friend and she said that he was "offline". She went ahead and did it anyway and he added her within TEN MINUTES !!! hahahahah

That must have been deleted... I don't see it. However, I do see where someone about 7 hours ago said she was wearing a grey tank top when JC left, according to what he said in an interview.

I found this pic of them... in a video interview JC mentioned that the only things disturbed in her room were a pencil holder near the window and the hats on the bedposts, which were knocked off... but he goes on to say the dog could easily have done that, since it was closed in that room.
