Ogletree has remained out of custody despite an extensive arrest record spanning a wide range of serious offenses including drug-related charges, theft, and acts of violence. His record reflects not isolated incidents, but a persistent pattern of criminal behavior over several years.





This is not a case of occasional poor judgment—it is a long-standing history of unlawful conduct that, by all accounts, should have resulted in significant legal consequences. Unfortunately, repeated opportunities to intervene and hold him accountable were missed.

One of Kei’Mani Latigue’s former teachers told 13 Action News school staff from Bennett Venture Academy reported concerning things the young girl said to Children Services on multiple occasions -- adding that Kei’Mani was with a different guardian at that time. We’re still working to confirm who Kei’Mani’s guardian was at the time.

Kayleene Hairabedian, who taught sixth-grade English to Keimani last year at Bennett Venture Academy, said Keimani came to school with injuries regularly.

“She would have welt marks on the back of her neck, back, and stomach,” she said. “She was constantly bruised. She was fearful of going home.”

She told 13 Action News that she and other staff members called Children Services to report concerning things Kei’Mani said. The former teacher said Kei’Mani had come to school with visible injuries, adding that the young girl was with a different guardian during that time.

So I am super confused. Iit had been reported by grandma on camera that grandma had custody for the past five years? Did she and godmother trade Keimani back and forth between their households? Who had custody of Keimani last year when she was reportedly coming to school bruised and frightened if not grandmother?

I'm not all caught up, but I thought I had read the following - someone PLEASE correct anything that's wrong, because I don't want to tangle info further!
(1) Kei'mani lived with her godmother from age 9 months through 5 years. I'm not clear on who had legal custody at that time though. (Is this confirmed? Did anyone read anything more/different?)
(2) Kei'mani has lived with her maternal grandmother since the age of 5 years. The grandmother just got legal custody last year. I'm not clear on who had legal custody prior to that. (Again, is this confirmed? Did anyone read anything more/different?)

She may have not lost custody, I don’t know if we have record of that. But she may have just given her over to godmother

Please take the time to listen, the Aunt gives the answers some of us have been looking for. She truly is a good person, and sounds like she had her share of trauma as a child.

I've seen so many SM posts all over the place on her. Balloons, celebrations, her birthday cute pictures of when she was very young. Family comments now that they seem to be looking to make them have some importance vs concerns for her. It hurts so much to see this and know that 1/10 of those who are leaving balloons and making statements could have made a difference. I can't seem to just mourn her yet. I'm angry. IMO

TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The father of a missing child from Toledo is facing criminal charges, court records show.

Darnell Jones, the father of missing 13-year-old Keimani Latigue, was charged with Abduction Sunday.


The affidavit states that Jones was the last person with Keimani before she went missing and has allegedly given inconsistent statements about his activity with the victim and her whereabouts. It said phone and surveillance video were also factors in his arrest.

This man is a disgusting excuse for a human being and father. Who does this to their own child and what he did is horrific. More States need the Death Penalty. I pray the family gets the appropriate JUSTICE FOR KEIMANI

This annoys me too. Families who neglect a child or lose custody, then kick up when something goes wrong, acting like a responsible parent or whatever. If they’d done their job and protected her she’d still be alive.

So would I. This is one of the screwiest situations I've seen in a while. How could that sweet young girl keep her grades in such good shape with who-knows-what was going on all around her.

So glad she is away from all the hurt and probably confusion that swirled around her.
We and the world will never know what good things this smart young girl could have done in her lifetime. SMH.
