A man who had been living with them has also been arrested.

"Yesterday, after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a gentleman residing at 108 Markatan Street, Flushing, Ohio, had been downloading and sharing child on the internet," Detective Ryan Allar said.

Aller says they went to the home to find 43-year-old John Garwon, and instead met Burdge, his roommate.

“He was present at the house when we executed the search warrant,” Aller said. “At that point, we had no indication or reason to suspect him of any wrongdoing."

Burdge said Garwon was working at a local restaurant. Detectives went there to find him, missed him by a few minutes, returned to the house, and Burdge was gone.

Our immediate concern is the safety of these children,” Aller said. “It was sheer accident we came across as Mr. Burdge as a suspect in this. After we arrested Mr. Garwon, we learned disturbing things, they were both sharing child together. Not only that, they had a sexual relationship themselves and had plans to molest these children as they got to a specific age."

"It's a sad thing the two adults decided to go on the run with these children, speaking with Sheriff Lucas, it's our priority to try and locate these children. If you have any info, we definitely need to know.

"Mr. Garwon is charged with an offense from October 11, 2018 with knowledge of the character of the material or performance involved, create, record, photograph, film, reproduce, develop or publish any material that shows a minor participating or engaging in sexual activity,” Costine said. “Which is punishable up to an 8-year prison incarceration and up to a $20,000 fine."

"We still have not been able to locate these individuals and we are highly concerned, this is Sheriff Lucas' top priority and we feel we need to get the message out farther,” said Chief Detective Ryan Allar. "Somebody is hiding him out somewhere and knows where this guy and his kids are, we need to make sure the kids are okay. It's keeping us all up late at night and we're very worried and we need to get this out as quick as possible to as many viewers across the country."

Burdge faces two counts of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor.

Police are also investigating Tabitha as a possible suspect.

"Not only in this case, but also as a person who's obstructing our ability to locate the children at this time,” Cruse said.

Cruse said a warrant for Tabitha is under review by the prosecutor's office.

In the meantime, the U.S. Marshals, FBI and law enforcement from Connecticut to Canada are searching for the family.

"We also filed this report with Children's Services, so we can look into what they can do to help us. Once we get these kid's safe, we can conduct an investigation into the criminal aspect of what their parents are doing,” Cruse said. “But right now, we really need to make sure we get these kids safe."

Cruse said if Burdge and Gallagher are watching, they ask them to please leave the children somewhere safe if they are going to continue to run from law enforcement.

We did a preliminary examination of some of the evidence recovered and we tied some of that to Mr. Burdge, and we found he, too, was trafficking in child and other deviant things," Aller said.

Garwon was arrested on two counts of pandering sexual-oriented matter involving a minor and is in jail on $40,000 bond.

Meanwhile, detectives learned Burdge fled with his two small children -- one 5 years old, the other almost 2 years old -- and the child's mother, Tabitha Gallagher.

They would share back and forth and talk in detail about their desires and things they would like to do. I will spare you those details because they are disgusting.”

Allar said there is no evidence that links the children to the .

“We took a massive amount of digital media devices such as laptops and a great deal of terrabyte external hard drives that had the capacity to be filled with so much information,” Allar said. “It is going to take us a monumental amount of time to go through and examine. So far, we have not discovered anything that we consider to be shot at that residence at this time. One of my detectives right now is just pouring through so much vile and disgusting matter.”
