Warrant is issued for mother of missing Belmont County children

"As of right now, a warrant has been issued for Tabitha Gallagher in regards to this," said Sheriff Dave Lucas. "Our detectives along with the prosecutor believe and feel that she's involved in this. If you see them or know them or know where they are, call the Sheriff's Office."

The warrant against her is for obstructing justice, which is a felony.

Sheriff's investigators have turned up information indicating that one of the children has a serious health issue that requires treatment.

They also believe, because of Burdge's alleged propensity for child , that the children are in serious danger.

I hadn’t even heard about this case until just now when I saw this. Usually missing/abducted child cases are heavily discussed here, why was this horrible situation virtually ignored?

I hadn’t seen it on the news or heard anything about it on the radio, and I listen to an Ohio news radio station for several hours a day.

So glad they were found but I don’t know why this story didn’t receive the attention it deserved.

Wesley Burdge and Tabitha Gallagher, two former fugitives in a Belmont County child case, are both on track for trial.

Burdge faces four counts of child .

Gallagher faces an obstructing justice charge as prosecutors believe she took Burdge and their two children to a hotel in Pennsylvania to hide as law enforcement searched for the family.

This was after police showed up their flushing home to investigate and arrest a roommate, John Garwon, who faces a rape and child charge.

Burdge and Gallagher are set for trial in mid-February.

Burdge was sentence to the maximum of 16 years in prison. Burdge must register as a Tier 2 sex offender for the next 25 years.

Gallagher made a surprise guilty plea to an amended charge -- attempted obstructing justice.
